i like the backplates i ordered but its so cheeky they have made the hole so small that no other handles can go through it! a standard handle screw is 3mm and they've made the holes stupidly small to try and make you buy their handles too

Dreadful customer service.
Whilst the products themselves are gorgeous i am afraid the business is let down by the customer service. I have visited this shop 3 times now in London and everytime i am not even so much as acknowledged. Today i went and it took 3 hello's before one of the 3 staff looked up from their laptop. My partner had a similar experience and dont even get me started on the returns process. Such a shame as Matilda herself is very talented but less so in the recruitment part of her business...

Our order from MG and Co came through in good time and the quality of the products were incredible. We were so pleased, they looked exactly as they did online and functioned perfectly well in our home. We ordered some cutlery and a decorative ice box. Excited to order some more ornaments for our home.

I ordered a few items from MG&Co over the past six months, most recently cutlery in January 2026. I found the overall service, including the delivery experience excellent. The orders were processed without delay and the items, some of which were fragile, were delivered intact. It is clear that careful attention is paid to the ordering service, packaging and delivery to ensure full customer satisfaction. On this basis, I would definitely order more items with confidence and recommend to friends.

I got two sets of the arch backplates in polished nickel as well as the dark oak knobs and honestly I couldn’t be happier. Easy to install (did it myself) and they feel so great!

I originally bought one of their scallop lampshades on a whim and it completely transformed the corner of my living room. It was such a simple swap but it added so much personality. Since then I've gone back for hardware knobs to update an old chest of drawers and some of their tabletop pieces. Everything feels beautifully made and thoughtfully designed, with real character without being over the top.

I also really appreciate that they're a certified B Corp and genuinely care about sustainability. It's rare to find a homeware brand that nails the balance between playful and timeless.

I have bought numerous products from MG & Co over the last few years for both myself and for my interior design clients and have been consistently impressed by the quality of the product, speed of delivery and communication throughout the delivery process. For designers, it's so fab that they sell swatch sets too - we spec some form of MG handles on almost every project so it's incredibly helpful to have a true representation of hardware colour to hand. Their new shop is definitely worth a visit - it's gorgeous. Highly recommend Mg & co and I can't wait to get my hands on one of their new donut wall lights!

I've bought a couple of things from Matilda Goad now and LOVE these products. My most recent purchase was the tortoiseshell mirror - I'd been looking for something similar for ages and when it arrived it was perfect! Always really great quality, arrived quickly - also great for gifts too! Love!

I've ordered coloured knobs with clover backplates and then on a different occasion the pearl oval mirror (which I did look at in the shop beforehand to check on the quality). I also picked up a matchbox sleeve as a gift when in the shop. I've been very happy with all my purchases, had no issues with the online ordering or delivery and the service in the shop was fantastic. I especially love the knobs and backplates because they are so unique and of beautiful quality.
I can't relate at all to the negative reviews and I think this is a great British business I'm happy to support!

Initially ordered x2 back plates and x2 door knobs, to see were they suitable before ordering more, which were packed and dispatched same day. Fantastic.

I then placed a separate order for the remaining backplates on 4th Jan. Their website states orders will be dispatched within 1-4 days. Its now the 13th Jan and despite reaching out to their customer service via email and Facebook, I've been ignored and have had no further update regarding when my order will be dispatched. The product pages do not suggest the items are on back order either.

Extremely poor customer service for items which are very expensive.

Would I purchase from this company again? Absolutely not.

I was very disappointed with my experience with this company. Should have read the reviews here first. The website FAQ states that VAT is included in the product price and deducted at checkout for international orders, but no VAT was removed when I ordered, and I was later charged a large customs fee. Customer service offered little help, which was surprising for a brand positioned as “luxury.” The shades themselves arrived with “Made in China” stickers and felt cheap for the high price. Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering again.
