Very disappointed and concerned that they have started work in A&E departments to end patients' lives, probably without consent, because often patients are not accompanied.
A&E is not a place for palliative care or ending of life!!

I use the Marie Curie shop regularly at Sheldon and unfortunately my phone was stolen by the only other customer in the shop.... and the staff were less than helpful.

They will assure you that they specialise in bereavement support... then after you've shared your deepest, guarded, heartfelt concerns (for 8 minuets 45 sec) they'll tell "you don't qualify for support..." because they only support people bereaving the loss of people who had terminal illness "—but why couldn't they just say that at the beginning of the phone call?" It seems like their staff "might" prey on extreme emotional vulnerability, which is a gross violation a persons personal boundaries! And parasitic maybe! I still feel the...

I worked for Mariecurie for 43 years and loved my job but got bullied by my supervisor and management. I loved the nurses and office staff . I put many complaints in about what was going on but management ignored it as they all worked together
I visit the Enfield/brimsdown store…
I visit the Enfield/brimsdown store once and week when we visit family, and I can't praise them enough, the store is always so welcoming and the staff are so helpful, the store shop front is always well presented and on theme, I.e currently they have a really cool Halloween window display,
Iv visited a few different stores but the Enfield store is by far my favourite, a special thank you to Pauline she really is the nicest person iv ever met in one of your stores she has such a kind heart and is always working so hard, so if your live in this area or are just visiting make sure you give it a visit xx
Difficult to set up!!
Tried to do the lottery online and it kept going back to the payment page. Gave up in the end. Lost a supporter.
Kind, considerate and professional
My elderly mother had a very bad episode last evening and I was fortunate enough to have a Marie Curie nurse with me for the first time, as part of a CHC program.
She was kind, knowledgeable and she managed two call-outs of the local 'rapid response' NHS service (once whilst I slept). I have a great admiration for this organisation and others like it for the selfless service they give to us.
Cruel staff at Marie Curie charity shop
My daughter, 14, visited the Marie Curie Charity shop at Swan Shipping Centre, Yardley, Birmingham yesterday. She was rudely treated and mocked by a sales lady when my daughtee had enquired about a hamster cage (14.06.25).
It should never be acceptable to treat others in that manner as the elderly assistant did. She mocked my 14 year old and then went on to informing a colleague as to how silly my daughter was to have purchased a hamster without a cage.
I am truly amazed as to how she has made such assumption as no such thing was disclosed since, no such purchase was ever made. Either way, it is not appropriate or kind to mock a child. This we can all agree.
Very disappointing and cruel.
Night sits where a god send
I had two visits from Marie curie in the past week, given the situation I could have done with more night sits and a bit more notice when they would come but without those two night sits and a good nights rest I couldn’t have got through those tough times with my grandad.
I will be hopefully making a one off donation at some point as a thank you
MARIE CURIE REPETITIVE POST
I used to give to Marie Curie. But no more. They inundate you with post again and again. I'm now just shredding so they are wasting their money on paper and postage.

Hi I was in the Alexandria branch this morning where i purchased an item for my golf trolley. I just thought what really nice shop to walk round.. It really well laid out to look around.. The lady who served me was so nice .. It was just a nice place to be .Thanks to Marie curie well done all your helpers..

I am extremely disappointed with the approach this charity has taken. They have cold-called and knocked on my door twice, which is not only intrusive but completely unacceptable. As someone who values privacy, I find it frustrating to be targeted in this way, especially in my own home.
Charities should understand that these aggressive tactics can have the opposite effect of what they intend. Instead of encouraging support, they alienate potential donors by making them feel harassed and pressured. There are more respectful and effective ways to raise awareness and funds without disturbing people in their private spaces.
I urge this charity to reconsider its approach and adopt better practices that prioritise consent and respect. Door-to-door solicitation and repeated calls are outdated and inappropriate in today’s world. I will not be supporting them due to this behaviour.

I am disappointed with my visit to Marie Curie Eltham High Street , whilst one staff volunteer was friendly the Manager was not at all welcoming even though I donated almost new items - I will donate to British Heart Foundation in future
Fundraising review
I signed up for a monthly donation as I felt this was a worthy cause, even since, I have been inundated with post, text and more doorstep visits requesting more money. Looks like they now see me as an easy target for funds. I’ve cancelled my direct debit and will make anonymous donations to an alternative charity. This has not been a pleasant experience. This review is purely in relation to their fundraising methods, not the support work they provide
Door-to-door trickery
I had a door-to-door salesman trick me into donating to this charity using really cliche tactics like complimenting me, making jokes, guilt tripping me, and trying to talk really fast to trap me in the conversation. I made a payment just to make him go away. The irony is, he was raising money for mental health and, as a person who suffers with anxiety myself, the guy used my clear discomfort to get money from me. What’s worse is they’ve bombarded me with phone calls every day since, to the point I’ve had to block their number. This is why organisations don’t do door-to-door volunteering anymore, because it’s creepy and invasive. I previously had a positive view of this charity but I wouldn’t trust them after this experience

Caring and compassionate
My mum recently died at home from metastatic bowel cancer. The last week of her life was harrowing but 3 visits from Marie Curie staff were a godsend. All the staff were caring and compassionate and their presence gave family members chance to catch up on some sleep. They were there when other prearranged support had abandoned us, and I will never forget their kindness.
In addition, their range of booklets are easy to read and practical and I am currently finding ‘When Someone Dies’ invaluable.
