I had a very frustrating experience…
I had a very frustrating experience trying to get clear information about mastectomy bras and how they are handled under the Medical Needy program. This is not a new situation — it is long-term, ongoing coverage — and I expected the staff to be familiar with the process.
Unfortunately, there seemed to be very little understanding of whether mastectomy bras are covered, how many are allowed per year, what documentation or prescriptions are required, or how eligibility should be properly checked. I received different answers from different people, and no one could clearly explain the steps from start to finish.
The portal eligibility checks were confusing and did not clearly reflect coverage status, which only added to the frustration. While some staff members were polite, it felt like there was no consistent training or clear process in place for Medical Needy recipients, particularly for medically necessary supplies like mastectomy bras.
I hope this office improves communication and staff education so patients can get straightforward, accurate information about their benefits.
