The ski, the mountains, the view, the house were really amazing. The guide was good as well but he did not speak english at all, it was very difficult to understand him. In an international trip like that I think this is a shame.

Very competent and knowledgeable skipper (Olof). Great skiing choices and ski guide (Alessandro). Felt like we well taken care of. Safety was their main priority. Views from the tops of the ski runs were breathtaking. And the snow conditions were perfect!

Lorenzo was an incredible guide! He was such a gentleman to the all-female group in Iceland. Since he lived in Iceland in the past, he was a great resource for showing us some phenomenal skiing as well as local cafes and sight seeing.

I do wish we had a more central lodging location, as we spent a lot of time in the car. Dalvík would be the ideal location in my opinion!

Timing this trip to the week immediately after cat skiing season closes is the right call. The village is deserted, the slopes untracked, and the mountains entirely yours. Ideal conditions for ski touring.

Snow quality held up throughout the week — three days of excellent spring corn, two days of fresh powder. A strong week by any standard.

Accommodation, hospitality and logistics were handled without fault. The team at Guest House Panorama — Giorgi, Mumuka and their staff — are attentive, warm and well-organised. The food is homemade, abundant and consistently good.

Guide Akis demonstrated sound judgment in terrain selection and risk management across all conditions encountered during the week. He prioritised safety without sacrificing ambition. Exactly the standard you should expect from a UIAGM/IFMGA-certified guide.

One noteworthy aspect of the experience: access to the village at 2,000m is via snowcat through the forest, striking in its own right. We also completed two cat-assisted descents mid-week, and returned to the valley by snowmobile on the final day. Unconventional logistics that added genuine character to the trip.

A strong recommendation for experienced ski tourers. If timing is flexible, the post-cat-season window is the one to book.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Our guide Jaysan and porter Kunga were simply amazing!

We had unforgettable experiences and impressions in the mountains. The guides and the porter made it such a special experience that I can't even put it into words. The guide was very kind and attentive. Our well-being was always his top priority, and he always made sure we were comfortable. He also told us a lot about the culture, religion, and history of Nepal. Also he did some nice pictures from the Trek so we have nice memorys of the Trek! We had an incredible time together in the Himalayas. We laughed, danced, and had so much fun. The tea houses and the people there are so warm, kind, and hospitable. Everyone there made it an incredible experience. The small villages in the mountains and the energy of the people made it truly magical. The food was always incredibly delicious! I could mention so many more wonderful things, but it wouldn't do it justice, as this trip was, as I said, indescribable! So go and experience it for yourself to understand.

I had a great time in Norway but was a little disappointed in the quality of the service. We had a lot of rain during our trip which made it difficult to do the typical ski days planned. All that is understandable and uncontrollable but we were not given proper alternatives on the days we couldnt ski. The team was also not local as mentionned they didnt know the area well in my opinion so they couldnt give us fun alternatives. We were also asked to pay for a rental car out of our own pocket when we couldnt sail to the last ski location, which should have been taken care of by the company. The boat was also not cleaned by staff. Skipper seemed overwhelmed and not in control.

We did a 6-day tour in Morocco (Mt Toubkal and Sahara Desert). It was such a cool experience summiting the highest mountain in the Atlas Mountains one day then camel riding in the Sahara another day. Unforgettable.

To top it off, our tour guide, Lahcen, was fantastic! He was personable and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky enough to have Lahcen as your guide, you’ll be guaranteed a fun and memorable trip!

Follow up wasn’t very well done. Especially for before and after trip. Not sure how costs are distributed as significant amounts of tips are added

Our group had an amazing trip with Lahcen as our guide. He took such great care of us and he was so friendly and easy to communicate with. The tour was planned and designed well for enjoyment, cultural interest, exercise, good food, and rest. Everything was handled professionally. Summiting Toubkal was a highlight and our time in the Sahara desert was magical. Thank you!

The trip was really well organized, with a great guide and amazing accomodation.
You almost not have to think about anything, the pick up and drop off was smooth, and during the week we had amazing breakfast, backcountry excursion every day, onsen and dinner at home or out depending on the group preference.

We had an amazing experience, largely because of Lorenzo Daddario, the Italian Dolomite guide that Mapo Tapo provided us. He’s incredibly attentive to everyone, guiding us to the best backcountry routes, always considering the daily weather and snow conditions. With his extensive local knowledge, he always selects the best uphill and descent lines to enjoy the most untouched snow, tailoring them to the physical and technical abilities of the entire group.
We always followed Lorenzo’s advice to wrap up our ski day with a visit to the local “onsen,” the thermal bath that rejuvenates us. Lorenzo also took care of us in other ways, such as transporting us around in the van, suggesting how to plan our evenings, dinners, and breakfasts, where he was also the head chef.
The Orchards Niseko Lodge finally met our specific desire.
The week’s weather allowed us to bring everyone together for a truly five-star experience.

Guides were great for specially Lahcin who was with us both on Mt Toubkal and on our trip to the desert. He was conscientious about our time and safety yet patient as we explored. Our other guide on the mountain Muhammad was also patient and helpful. Both did a great job.

The hike up Toubkal was tough but the summit experience was incredible. The drive to the Sahara was long but seeing and spending a night in the desert was worth it. Great trip.

I had an amazing time touring in Japan with Lorenzo. Mapo Tapo made everything easy and that made the experience even better.
Lorenzo is an amazing guide! He is very knowledgeable, energetic and kind. I would recommend him and Mapo Tapo anytime and will be looking to do another trip with them again.

Amazing trip! The guide, the lodge, the snow, the location and a crazy team of friends

I learned about Mapo Tapo from a friend back home in the US and was a bit hesitant because I never booked a hiking tour group before. Mapo tapo takes care of everything behind the scenes so you can just show up, settle in to the hotels, and start exploring the towns on arrival. They connect you with local guides who are friendly, knowledgeable about local nature and wildlife, and fun to talk to during the whole trip. When we met the guide at El Chaltén, we were also able to change our day 5 hike as a group, so the whole trip felt really flexible and accommodating. We had plenty of time after the hikes each day to explore on our own as well. I would be more than happy to book my next hiking trip with mapo tapo next year!
