This platform has been an extremely disappointing experience. My account was banned without being given a fair opportunity to dispute the DMCA claims filed against my content. There appears to be no proper review process or meaningful support when it comes to handling copyright issues.

I provided all necessary licenses and documentation proving I have the rights to distribute my cover song. Despite submitting video evidence showing how the track was created and confirming that there are no samples used the release was still labeled as a REMIX and my account was banned. If the song is a soundalike cover with proper licensing and no sampled material, it should not automatically be treated as a remix without proper review.
What is most frustrating is the lack of effort to examine the evidence provided or to follow a fair dispute process. It feels unjust and inconsistent with the platform’s own terms of service

One of the most easy platforms for music distribution IMO. Also transparent without hidden costs etc, unlike other premium DIY platforms. Grateful to have a couple of releases with this company.

A friend of mine told me about Make Waves, so I gave it a try as I didn't hear of this music distribution service before, and I am really surprised by its service!! After my release, I mailed their support team with some questions and got a quick and helpful answer (from a person!). Their pricing model looks strange at the beginning, but once you understand it, it is clear they have the best deal for an artist - no hidden fees, no upgrades for features etc. I would definitely recommend it if you want to release your music independently.

Bad service. They are charging you a fee which you will have to pay if you don't reach the quota of 2,000 streams. For a artist that only has a few monthly listeners, this is impossible to reach. This was not even clearly stated during sign-up or uploading process. This is absolutely ridiculous. For a person who doesn't make money/have money too, it's also not easy to pay this. I do have money but there are people that don't and then they have to pay a fee. Never using this again, don't recommend. I should've listened to those people who told me about make waves and their bad experience with them. I'll make sure to share this experience with artists considering Make Waves to avoid them also having to pay the fee. Goodbye.

just a heads up, this service is made for those who already have a decent following with music and wanted to get their music out there. if you're just starting out making music, I'd suggest using a different site.

aside from that, this is actually a pretty good service for a distro site! though, pretty niche, they have been nothing but great so far! I've been trying to find a perfect site where my songs could stay up as long as possible while having cheap fees and they have been really great! I was skeptical at first since it seems a bit too good to be true so I went out and committed on waiting to see if I'd ever receive my royalties

first of all, fast distributing service, a lot of other services would ask you to pay more in order to distribute faster, but their service is absolutely free

second, great customer service! they have been pretty responsive with the service that they have and have been pretty nice and helpful and not an automated service that uses a premade message

and just generally, a good cut! though they may take a fee of the first 2000 of each release per year, once you reach the quota, you earn 95% of the cut and you own 100% of the royalties! Little tip, it's encouraged to post albums rather than singles since they're risky in hitting the quota. if you don't manage to hit the quota though, you may have to pay but from what I've heard it's only around like a few bucks or so, and you have a whole year to make it!

this service has been nothing but consumer friendly and I can't wait to see what's in store for the future of this distro! (if it does go bad, don't quote me on that lol)

also FYI, I don't trust some of the 1 star reviewers, I feel like some of them are review bots or just dummies that don't know how to use this service right

also to the reviewer, Finn, the pricing model is CLEARLY stated during the uploading process (it's reviewers like these that tank the ratings of this small company) :(

Amazing platform for music distribution with great support!

I moved from RouteNote to Make Waves after hearing about it from a friend and they are doing great! Today i sent an album to them and in just an hour it was already submitted and live on 14 platforms which made me send this review! Thank you MakeWaves for being a great platform and I will definitely keep using MakeWaves

Easy to distribute your songs. Very fast approval time and distribution to major platforms.

Well after the CDBaby experience we decided to try 6 other distributors at the same time and this guys here decided to do the same thing CDBaby has done, to delete the account and keep all the money without any proof of anything and without any explanations.

So, they scammed us out of aprox 1200$, either way we knew the risk when using them, because they have bad reviews everywhere, but we said: "they are new, maybe they are trying to do better" and yeah, they don't, they just like to scam people out of their royalties.

They think that their Terms of Service are above the law, but they will get a newsflash when they will be served with embezzlement claims and lose in court, as many other distributors have done so far, or they will be smart and solve it once they are served the notification and not get to court.

Our advice is not to use music distributors without a label or without a contract, because most of them act this way if your music and marketing campaign has success from the get-go.

They are scammers.

They don't pay royalties.

They will just delete your account and be done for. Will not reply to your emails once they do that.

So, if you expect some royalties after 2-3 months from them, be sure that nothing will be received anymore, and that they will keep the money for themselves.

This is usually referred to as FRAUD, and they should be charged for it.

Never again will we use a Distribution company from Europe.

Update Answer: Yeah, right. We know your story, deleting accounts without any proof of anything. i think this clears everything. You guys are scammers and nothing more. hopefully, everyone will see this before using your services

P.S. Deleting an account with thousands of dollars in the balance is FRAUD, no matter what you guys claim
