I recently left a 1 star review of Maker & Son, due to purchasing a suite through the original company at the point at which they sold & subsequently went into liquidation. I received part of the order & was left way out of pocket.
Lots of time, issues & frustrations later I was contacted by Naomi, who listened to me & together we came to a compromise which was fair for both parties. Since Naomi made contact, there has been clear & regular communication & I now have the item I requested & am happy with how it’s been resolved.
It’s not merely the issues you face with a company, it’s how those issues and you as a consumer are dealt with, that leaves the biggest impact. I have to commend Naomi & how this has been brought to a close. I would now have confidence to recommend the new company to others, as they have really turned things around.

I actually have given up now with this sofa and armchairs it’s just awful the new company is no better than the old company both just as bad literally no reply's to emails or phone calls I’ve only ever wanted to buy new seat cushions because the old company ones are so bad you can not use the sofa, I’ve had calls late at night last year from ‘Ian’ whilst he was driving up the motorway, I was in tears saying I wanted to burn the sofa and I just wanted to purchase new seat cushions and how he would come and sort it to now you don’t even get a reply to anything I’m done … do your homework they sell the dream but I’m not sure about customer service after purchase !

Shamelessly dishonest and awful customer service
I purchased the Orlando sofa from the original owner of Maker & Son; they sent to two side pieces and assured me the middle piece (it's modular) would arrive in a few months. I raised the issue of fabrics matching to which they assured me there would be no batch issues as it was a natural fabric...
The middle piece eventually arrived and of course, it was a different colour entirely to the two corner pieces I had.
I complained immediately to the company who said they would replace all cushions with covers from the same batch.
I had been waiting and chasing up these cushions for 8+ months, only to finally be told by a generic voicemail that the business had gone into administration. I spoke to the new owners who took it over to explain that i'd been promised these replacements, and they told me they were unwilling to honour the promise made by the company.
In short, attrocious customer service, dishonest completely (misled me for 8+ months that they were working on a solution) so now I am left with a sofa that costs £8k + and has mismatched cushion covers.
Totally disgusting way of conducting business. Never ever buy from these people. I have since warned several friends and colleagues off of the company, and most recently a few influencers who have posted wanting to purchase products. Shamelessly dishonest...

Please do not buy from these cowboys
I bought a sofa, foot stool & chair from the original company. When the new people took over they offered money back or to fulfil the order - I opted to fulfil the order as I’d saved especially & wanted to complete the set. Zero communication. Everytime I’ve rung - they’ve said they were working on the back log. They are marketing these sofa’s as if they’re high end - which I’ve commented on, on their adverts. They have now contacted me to say they’re prepared to discount a further order but will not be honouring the order that I’ve paid for. Now, they have blocked me from social media. Absolute sham of a company - DO NOT BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS

Terrible Scam Company
purchased tens of thousands of dollars in sofa and bed that was supposed to have 30 years warranty and here is my experience so you don't have to go through it.
Their products are faulty and equally as important, they do NOT honor their own warranty. They don't even honor their own written words in email or text message. This to me is a scam.
The sofas and pillows have lots of feathers poking out and coming out of them, which is clearly a manufacturer issue as they also acknowledged as much. So I filed a warranty claim with them and through a difficult process of back and forth, they finally said that they will fix the issue. They made me drive all of the items to their location to have them measured, instead of sending someone to do it at my home. I took these heavy items to their location and spent hours there then carried them back home. I did that for their convenience. Months went by and they have not done anything about it. They initially told me that I would have to pay thousands of dollars to get them fixed, but they still didn't fix the issue. They just told me next week, next month and now it has been over one year and nothing has been done.
The owner reached out to me back in August and was very thuggishly rude and unprofessional, so I gave up trying to reason with them and wrote an honest google review at that time. Then another person, Rahul, reached out to apologize and asked me to remove my review and he will take care of my warranty issues. I trusted him and removed my honest review but they still didn't bother and did nothing to address the issues. Rahul kept saying next week, next month and then he is now fully ignoring my calls. I have the entire communication on email and text and I will post them here.
This is not how you should be treating your clients, especially when you charge tens of thousands of dollars per item.
This is a scam company with faulty products that may look good in their showroom but they won't look good when you sit on them and feathers come all over you and poke you. Their warranty is clearly a complete scam as well.
I do not recommend spending any money, let alone tens of thousands of dollars buying product from a this place when their products aren't good and they won't honor their own warranty.

I don't care who owns what and which location does what. I am fed up with the lies and terrible customer service.
Your company and corporation is the same, the product is the same. Product warranty is with the corporation and has no mention of who is the current owner. That goes to show how unreliable and fake/scam you state your warranty is.
As I previously mentioned, your team stated very clearly in text and in email that the liners were in production and that they would be finished in November. Please see attached. He then conveniently disappeared in November. This was clearly a lie. You guys are completely unreliable.
You made me drive all my large pillows to your ridiculous show room and spent hours measuring them in order to fix the quality issue with your sofa but you only wasted my time. Your response here is just another sad and pathetic attempt to deceive others from knowing what a scam company you are.
The previous owners actually knew what customer service should be. You guys, however are just a bunch of lying thugs that will not be able to scam your clients anymore.
You have my number and email, you can reach out to me when you decide to be truthful and actually resolve this issue.

Constantly puffing the cushions
Constantly puffing the cushions, they are very heavy and it’s a full time job! Very uncomfortable to sit on unless puffed and looks messy constantly. I followed the instructions to wash the covers, but the zips come apart and the stitching on the zips is coming away. I wish I had bought another sofa that wasn’t this much hard work!

The MOST COMFORTABLE couch in the WORLD
Maker and Son definitely have the most comfortable couches in the world. I thought maybe I would replace with a cheaper couch but my family refused to let me. Instead I re-covered and this couch will be good for another 10+ years! THE MOST COMFORTABLE couch ever!

Following on from previous review - I got the standard reply to say contact us, I was asked to email all info over, that was a month ago. No response. Shame can't upload pics on here but will find somewhere to do that on google because people need to know - DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS. Worst decision I've made! We are both suffering with back issues caused by such terrible cushions. They are doing the contact on here to be seen responding but not actually doing anything. Will post pics elsewhere so please search them out before you think about spending your money!

Cushions losing their shape so quickly
We didnt have problems with the delivery however the we certainly expected better quality given that we spend €8k on this sofa! The cushions are not keeping their shape and moving around/sliding down so much. After sitting on it for 2 minutes, cushions lose their shape and i cannot be puffing them every time i sit on them, especially when they are this heavy and big. Dont be fooled by the puffed, perfect looking sofa you see on their socials, what you will experience is a messy looking sofa..

My biggest regret for our house renovation is using this company.
I ordered 3 sofas from them back in 2021. We also ordered two spare covers for these XL sofas and never received them. It’s all very well to say that people should contact customer service but I have done that many times and spoken to people and they are initially helpful and then mysteriously disappear, and won’t answer emails or the phone…and I still don’t have my spare covers which no doubt they will say it was too long ago that they were ordered. And the sofas aren’t that great. 1 in particular is lumpy and uncomfortable. A huge regret to ever have used this company.

Was ripped off 2 years ago. The company was sold a couple of times. Both new administrations said they would make reparation. Both disappeared and refused. Couch not comfortable. Don’t buy from these.

Inside filling just doesn't work - breaking our backs
We are having so many problems with our sofa and armchair - not from the make of them which I am sure if very good - it's the cushions - almost impossible to keep plump and then gives us bad backs. I think they need to provide better filling. Couldn't imagine if you had bad backs trying to plump them everyday - it's like a workout - I can't lift the L-Shape on our sofa.

Worth it
They are incredibly comfortable sofas that are made exceptionally well. You just have to sit on them to know what sets them far apart from other sofas. As soon as we walked into the showroom we were greeted straight away, not pushy, left to enjoy but given lots of information on how they are made & why they cost what they cost. We got help with what would and wouldn't work fabric wise because we have kids and pets. Told us how to maintain them. They kept us updated on progress and delivery was smooth. Worth the wait for something we plan on having for a very long time.

Worst Experience EVER
After multiple issues with this 7k piece of furniture, Maker & Son offered to retrieve the couch, and give a full refund.
They did indeed pick up the couch but Maker & Son HAVE NOT REFUNDED ME.
I emailed with multiple staff, spoke on the phone to staff in 3 countries. Emailed with the CEO in June and July of 2022, who told me that the company was changing over to a new company. He assured me that if I could be patient, and wait for the new company to fully take over, he would refund me from the new company, as he wanted to do right by Maker & Son customers. He lied.
On Wednesday, the CEO finally replied after I chased for 2 years, and the CEO told me that he will not be refunding me for the couch they retrieved from my home, because he doesn’t have a legal responsibility to, as he restructured the company under a new owner.
Maker & Son has been dissolved and restructured by Inc & Co. If you google Inc & Co CEO, you will see dozens of articles and reports about their business practices.
The Inc & Co CEO will tell you that they have nothing to do with the owners of Maker & Son, but that is not true. It is the same company, ran by the same people. A google search will reveal this.
Maker & Son just launched beds and mattresses, yet refuse to refund me. The information about them is all available on Google, so please do your research!
Finally, they will claim that the ‘prior company’ used different suppliers and they can’t control that quality, when I state that the product isn’t good. But as it is the same people, how is that so? Maker & Son staff in both the US and the UK have told me in the past 2 months that Maker & Son is still run by the same people that founded the company, they just restructured.
Maker & Son furniture definitely is not worth even a quarter of what they charge for it, in my experience and others you see here, and you may not even get a product! And if you don’t get a product, you won’t get your money back. You will receive a list of lies about all the reasons they cannot help you, and they’ll offer to sell you more furniture at a reduced rate! Stay away from Maker & Son, owned by Inc & Co.
Edit to add: Maker & Son have tried to have this review taken down over a dozen times. They have now tried to claim I am reviewing the wrong company. As you can see in the reply below, Maker & Son acknowledge that I was their customer. Maker & Son also acknowledge below that my contract was dissolved after they retrieved the couch from my home. The CEO told me in an email that I need to wait until the sale goes through, and then he can refund me from the new company… but once the sale went through, the CEO told me in emails that Maker & Son would not refund me and legally did not have to.

Over 2 years & still waiting!
I ordered a Song sofa, a couple of throws and scatter cushions on the 30th May 2022, paying the full amount of £7186.00. I have seen absolutely NOTHING! I have had very little ressponse from M&Son. I was about to ask for my money back when I was told my order was complete, in storage but there was a delay due to the difficulty the company was in, & was assured I would get my order & to be patient. OVER TWO YEARS of being patient is a joke.

Exceptional Quality and Customer Service
First and foremost I have been working directly with my representative Claire since April 2022 I ordered the large Marnie Range Sofa, Loveseat and Footstool Italian Linen with White Piping color Sunstone it is absolutely GORGEOUS and it has been wonderful working with Claire even after the reorganization of Maker and Son Claire reached back out to me numerous times to update me and I just recently placed a new order on or about July 7th or 15th Claire is prompt courteous and very understanding. I still have a small issue with the cushions sagging I’m hoping to get them replaced otherwise Claire is absolutely wonderful can’t wait for the new order and will continue to do business with Maker and Son go visit the Maker and Son in Los Angeles Claire will take care of you!!! she has Integrity and honesty

We made contact with Maker & Son because of the advertisement. Claire responded nearly immediately. She provided design service based on the dimensions and photos we sent. The turnaround time was quick and the designs looked great. Claire sent four fabric samples which were very nice.
Inasmuch as we liked the couch and chair we measured the space and found that it would be somewhat tight to use these units and opted for smaller sizes.
If we would have had the space, we would have moved forward with one couch and one chair; they are beautiful and look very comfortable. Plus, the initial service was great.
