Pros:

1. Learning Opportunities: Despite the challenges, working at Made In Ply did provide some learning experiences, particularly in handling high-pressure situations and adapting to unpredictable work environments.
2. Colleagues: The only real positive during my time at Made In Ply was the camaraderie among some of the staff. Many of us bonded over the shared difficulties, and there was a sense of solidarity among the team members who were going through the same struggles.

Cons:

1. Poor Management: The management at Made In Ply was ineffective and often disorganized. Communication from leadership was lacking, and there was little to no transparency about the company’s direction or stability. Managers often disregarded employee opinions, which led to a demoralising work environment.
2. No Job Security: Job security was virtually nonexistent. Employees were laid off or fired with alarming regularity, often without much notice or explanation. The high turnover rate created an atmosphere of constant anxiety, as you never knew if you’d be the next one out the door.
3. Inconsistent Pay: One of the most frustrating aspects was the unreliability of being paid on time and correctly. There were frequent issues with payroll, and it wasn’t uncommon to receive late payments or to have discrepancies in the amount. This added to the stress and uncertainty of working there.
4. Expected Overtime: The company had unrealistic expectations regarding overtime. Employees were often expected to work extra hours with little to no notice, and refusing wasn’t really an option if you wanted to keep your job. There was no consideration for work-life balance, which made it difficult to manage personal time.
5. Unstable Work Schedules: The work schedule was highly unstable. On several occasions, employees were told to go home on the day or just a day before if there was no work available. This made it nearly impossible to plan your life outside of work, adding to the overall stress and frustration.
6. High Employee Turnover: The high employee turnover was indicative of the company’s poor work environment.

Overall Experience:

My experience at Made In Ply was overwhelmingly negative. The combination of poor management, lack of job security, unreliable pay, and a toxic work environment made it one of the most challenging and stressful jobs I’ve had. The company’s disorganized approach and disregard for employee well-being were apparent in everything from the way schedules were handled to the way people were treated. I would not recommend Made In Ply to anyone seeking stable, respectful, and fair employment. If you value your time, effort, and mental health, it’s best to look elsewhere.

Recently, two of the last floor workers were made redundant, marking the third redundancy this year.
The official reason provided for these layoffs was "downsizing."but less than a week later their jobs are being advertised again. Made in Ply has seen significant employee turnover over the last 18 months.New employees should seek clarification from management about the future of their positions and the company's direction as actions indicate poor management skills, as frequent redundancies followed by immediate job advertisements has severely impacted former employee morale and trust.

I had a fantastic experience from start to finish, with top-notch communication at each stage. The team was highly professional and offered valuable recommendations to ensure the best possible outcome. I'm extremely impressed and will definitely return for any future projects involving plywood. Thank you!

I'm in danger of gushing on account of being so impressed. Every aspect of the company is top notch. The attention to detail in even things as seemingly simple as the delivery driver employed, the app that the delivery tracking uses, the way the products are packaged, the customer service, the detailed information provided upon order and ongoing production, as well as of course most importantly the beautiful product that actually arrives with you. I really cannot fault a single thing.

Excellent quality product. Exactly what we were looking for and very pleased with the results for kitchen door fronts and worktops.

Easy to order, good and clear communication and delivered on time

I ordered a custom sized desktop to mount on some lift legs to create a sit/stand desk that fitted perfectly into my office space.

The quality and finish on the desktop is really beautiful and I would not hesitate to recommend Made In Ply to anyone else! When I move house, I will be ordering more furniture for my office to match.

We are delighted with the units. We love the formica finish and the quality of the ply used. The whole design process from start to finish was excellent with every step carefully checked before finally going ahead. Offering a bespoke service is what attracted me to Made in Ply and what a great decision it turned out to be! They have made such a huge difference to our lounge giving us not only a TV stand but lots of useful storage space. I have no hesitation in recommending Made in Ply to anyone who is looking for fantastic build quality and great looking furniture.
