Machu Picchu Tours Anmeldelser

We’ve had the pleasure of working with John and Machu Picchu Tours for several of our groups in Peru, and he is simply amazing to work with.

John’s energy is one of the first things you notice. He connects so easily with travelers, and his passion for Peru comes through in everything he does. He knows so much about the country, but what makes him special is the way he shares that knowledge. He makes things easy to understand, interesting, and always has little facts and stories that keep everyone engaged.

Our travelers absolutely love him. Again and again, we hear how much they learned from John, how much they loved his energy, and how he helped them truly connect with Peru and its culture. He has a way of making people leave the trip loving Peru even more.

From an operations perspective, John is also incredibly organized and detail-oriented. He is always willing to answer questions, share his recommendations, and make sure every part of the experience is taken care of. The transportation, the people supporting each tour, and the overall operation have always been handled impeccably.

Most importantly, John puts heart into what he does. You can tell that he genuinely wants every group to have an amazing experience, and that makes him someone we trust completely and genuinely enjoy working with.

John is simply great. He makes you fall in love with Peru.

Machu Picchu Tours created a dream experience for adventure seeking, 3-year newlyweds. My wife Sarah and I were swept away with this intense, eye-opening and culturally rooted experience on the Inca Trail. Our tour operator John along with guides Charlie, Jose and Danny and the phenomenal camp chef Romero and porter team crafted an adventure full of archeological wonders, history lessons and native perspectives. Trekking 4-days among breathtaking mountainside views and challenging terrain pushed us to our limits and created moments of gratitude while taking in the spectacle and natural beauty of Peru. From tent glamping, to city museum and open market tours, alpaca farm visits to the crescendo of the Machu Pichu citadel complex site exploration, this trip had it all. There was even time to indulge in spa-style massage treatments, souvenir shopping and top restaurant dinning spots. In all we stayed 12 days in country and will never forget our time in Lima, Cusco and all the little communities along the way. Many thanks to Machu Picchu Tours for revealing a glimpse of Peru's past and present.

I traveled to Peru with my family, and we were truly impressed by every detail. The staff was exceptionally polite and attentive throughout the entire journey—10/10.
We are deeply grateful to John Taqquere Villanueva, an outstanding tour guide, and our driver, Richard. Both proved to be phenomenal, passionate, and highly professional professionals. If you are visiting Peru, I highly recommend requesting John as your guide and Richard to handle your transportation.

The staff at Machu Picchu Tours were very helpful in answering my questions during my hike along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Our guide, John, was one of the best he kept us constantly informed throughout the tour.

The Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Tour with Machu Picchu tours was absolutely incredible! I had read about Rainbow Mountain before, but seeing it in person was beyond anything I could have imagined. The colors of the mountain were just stunning, and our guide made sure we learned about the cultural significance of the area as well. The trek itself was challenging due to the altitude, but our guide was patient, encouraging, and gave us plenty of breaks. I appreciated how well-organized everything was, from the early morning pickup to the breakfast provided before starting the hike. It felt like they genuinely cared about making the experience enjoyable for everyone. If you’re looking for Peru guided tours in Cusco that offer something truly unique, this one is unforgettable.
