I was tempted to buy here since the photos and styling are so gorgeous and lo and behold my little heartlock looks even better than the pictures! I bought this to match one which has sat unworn in a vault for decades and my Lillicoco heartlock is equally pristine in condition and function, not a ding or dent on it, gleaming as though it is brand new. I am positively thrilled with my purchase from start to finish. Lucy is so kind and thoughtful. It is always a distinct pleasure to give a shop owner of this calibre my business, and after this experience I plan on returning again and again. It’s half tempting to gatekeep how great this experience was, but I simply could not do that do Lucy. Don’t hesitate, choose Lillicoco!

This is a genuine account of a genuine experience I had with this company.

I purchased an aquamarine ring from this seller when they were advertising £100 off all items over £500 during end of the year period on Instagram. However, when I asked the seller what their best price was on the ring, they actually asked for more than what the price was with the advertised discount. I found this odd but went ahead and bought with the discount anyway.

When the ring arrived, the colour of the stone looked nothing like the photos. It was quite evident that the seller's photos and Instagram posts used filters to enhance the colours and make them appear more vibrant.

I found this to be disappointing, and perhaps a little misleading. The truth is that I would have never bought the ring had I seen un-enhanced photos of it showing the actual colour in real life as it was just not what I was looking for. Perhaps another person would like it. I realise that buying jewellery online can be very difficult, which is why I feel that it is important to be able to see accurate photos and perhaps videos in different lighting as to avoid disappointment.

I contacted the seller and requested to return the ring immediately after receiving this. The seller had no problem accepting the return as per their policy, but did not offer free returns as stated in the terms of sale received. They asked for proof of where I'd seen it and said that they would honour this is I can prove it. I had send the proof but I was not reimbursed for the return postage nevertheless. This was also disappointing. The T&C I saw may have been outdated, but they should have been honoured as promised.

The seller processed the refund 24 hours after receiving the item back, but disappointingly they issued this on Paypal using the e-cheque option which meant that it took 2 whole weeks for me to receive the funds back. And no, this wasn't because of PayPal or credit card processing times, it meant that it took over a week for the e-cheque (funds returned by seller) to be available for the refund to be processed.

Overall, this definitely wasn't the best experience, but could have been worse as far as online purchases from small business go. At least the seller maintained professional communication throughout the transaction. I would not shop with them again though.

When I reached out to them they were so gracious about everything. We were able to agree on a solution that left everyone happy. Would 100% recommend doing business with this company. I would say, and this is me being picky, for the price on some pieces, and for the fact that most pieces are Antique, Victorian, or Vintage, the lack of "provenance," if you will, was a little disheartening. I love antiques and vintage itmes. They are made so much more special when they come with photos and the story of how they were found or acquired.
