Feeling disappointed
We first saw the company at The National Self Build & Renovation Centre, and Bryn, who founded the company was most helpful.The visit to their showroom was very informative and Hattie was most helpful and knowledgeable too. The communication there after was slow and we had to chase them on numerous occasions.It didn’t work out any cheaper than other non diy companies.
We had the dishwasher offer and the day before delivery they rang to say no dishwashers in the country until October?! We could wait, have a £170 credit or have a different model.I don’t think £170 would buy a dishwasher.
On delivery we had a unit the wrong size, which we had to prove it was wrong by photographic evidence with a tape measure. We had no itemised paperwork to relate to our plan, so didn’t know which box went with which unit or what all the extra boxes were for, so we have a few extras over.It took over a week to get the new unit, which delayed the fitting.The hidden drawer had to be lowered as they hadn’t made room for the hob. We couldn’t match the handles horizontally on the wall units with the floor units as the doors wouldn’t open wide, and they only have 2 sizes of handle, whereas we have 3 different sized units, so the small handles were not suitable for the bigger units and the bigger ones too big for the small units. We had the Quooker system and also a double sink but the waste for the sink takes up too much room and takes up half the double unit. We had to re jig the waste to fit in the very roomy quooker system.As they were supplying all these items and had planned the kitchen, you assume they take into account space needed.
We opted for quartz worktops and matching splashback through this company and although the templating was perfect the cutting of the tap hole and socket holes were not as hoped.
The tap hole was not central and the sockets cut too big and not level, and I am very surprised the fitters hadn’t noticed when they fitted.
We contacted Purple, the worktop company and they came out straight away and reborn the tap hole and we were told we would be contacted about the splash backs and what our options were, but had no contact from either kitchensfordiy or Purple.
We feel very disappointed in both companies.
We now await a response before any action gets taken.
