I’m really disappointed with my experience. I spent £100 on a wooden chopping board from Kato Knives as a gift for my partner’s 30th birthday, expecting good quality for the price. Unfortunately, after only around 8 weeks of normal use, the board has split down the side.

For something marketed as premium, I would expect it to last much longer than this. What’s made the situation worse is the lack of customer service. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times via Instagram and email to resolve the issue and have been completely ignored.

Overall, this has been a poor experience both in terms of product quality and aftercare. I wouldn’t order from them again.

I have been looking for some quality knives for some time and these are just that. Beautifully made, very aesthetic, beautifully packaged and very sharp and lovely to use. Brilliant scissors, super sharp and look amazing. Really easy to clean as well with the way they separate into two parts.

Bought a very expensive set of premium, handmade knives on a Sunday evening - was promised next day, free delivery. Was surprised to see Royal Mail being used as the partner of choice for such a premium product - and wasn't surprised at all when they didn't show up as promised.

4 emails and two phone calls later at 4:43PM on a Tuesday I still have no idea whether or not the knives are actually going to be delivered. I'm not staying at the address overnight today as there's no power - so I kindof need to know if it's arriving or not.

Royal Mail's tracking shows that they're "expecting" the item - Katto's staff cannot tell me even if they will be able to call me back before they close at 5pm. Royal Mail have a tendency to leave parcels on the doorstep around here - so if they *are* delivered then it's quite likely that my £500 knives aren't going to be there when I come back to pick them up.

Altogether this has ruined the anticipation of receiving a premium product - If I'm spending this much on knives then I'm going to be prepared spend £5-10 for them to be properly delivered and the small company then doesn't have to have its staff running around trying to get an answer from a company famous for inefficiencies in delivery.

Poor show Katto - and such a shame - because I'm sure the knives (if I ever see them) will be amazing.

Takeaway from this? You don't need to promise "free next day delivery" - especially if you're using Royal Fail - but if you want to offer a delivery service that matches the quality of your producty then choose a premium partner.

Ive been a chef for over 20 years now and these knives are some of the best ive used they have a good weight to them and feel very comfortable in your hand. Also the blade is really sharp. The added bonus that I know i can send the knifes back to be sharpened is a added touch that you get from no one else. Will definitely be buying more.

I had no idea Katto knives were Handmade in Sheffield, I had to find out more, looking at the katto website I found these fantastic handmade knives they were a thing of beauty and made virtually on my doorstep well the other side of the snake pass. I knew I had to have one, I already had a Bob Kramer large chefs knife so I wanted something smaller and I found just what I wanted, looking at the website I was drawn to a Gaz Oakley utility knife with a Welsh oak handle it’s a thing of beauty I ordered one ( these are made to order ) but I only had to wait a week or so.
When it arrived I couldn’t wait to get a proper look and feel, and I wasn’t disappointed holding it in my hand it felt like I’d owned it for years, It was time to try it out, so out with the carrots onions and leeks it was excellent it just felt so write Thank you so much everyone at Katto.

These knives are so beautiful. Bought them as an engagement gift for my fiancé (selfishly knowing I’d get to use them too!) and they will definitely be in our kitchen forever. Great quality & fast delivery!
