great, but not for dachshunds
I first learned of Joyride harnesses from Jude, a small-to-medium sized dog that I dogsat before getting my own pup. His harness fit well and made walks easy. I especially like the multiple metal leash loops for different kinds of walks and the quick one-snap, easy-on/easy-off feature. Then I rescued a 14-pound dachshund mix. The harness was just as rugged as the bigger ones (though maybe not as necessary?), well-made, and all. But a doxie has a long back with short legs, so after a while I noticed Ellie was balding at her elbows and underarms and the snap closure, which could not be tightened any more, was getting in the way of her stride. I learned that dachshunds really needed the chest piece to go further toward her belly than the Joyride Harness does.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback! We’re so glad to hear that you discovered Joyride harnesses through your experience with Jude and that you appreciate the design features, like the multiple leash loops and the easy-on/easy-off snap closure.
However, we’re sorry to hear about the issues Ellie is experiencing with her harness. We understand that dachshunds have unique body shapes, and it’s important for their harness to fit comfortably without causing any irritation. Your observations are valuable, and we’ll certainly take them into consideration as we continue to improve our products.
If you have any questions or would like assistance in finding a harness that might be a better fit for Ellie, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!

Worst customer experience ever!
Boy, what went right is a better question. The harness clearly has a design flaw where the (huge) buckle hits the poor dog on the elbow as they are walking. My 14 year old dog could barely walk in it. When I tried to get a refund, I kept getting pointed to their refund link which doesn't give a refund if labels are not still on the harness. I've only had these harnesses less than a week! They say they'll give an in-store credit, but if the product doesn't fit - why would I want an in-store credit???
AND... there is no customer support phone number. Totally ridiculous - the whole thing. I'm out $100 for harnesses I can't use.

Our original Joyride harness was terrific
Our original Joyride harness was wonderful. Easy on and off. Unfortunately our dog got sick and lost a lot of weight. She passed away before the smaller harness arrived.

Wellbuilt harness
We got Frankie from a shelter. He came with a harness that said PugLife. There really wasn't a need to get another harness except after two washings we couldn't get the cigarette smell out from former owner.
So, we looked the company up on the internet. It appears to have changed to Joyride. We ordered him the exact same size built for a Shih Tzu and are very pleased! Would recommend. Wellbuilt harness.

This review is for my mother
This review is for my mother. She purchased a joyride harness after my suggestion because I knew a large dog that had one. She has a chihuahua and purchase the best friends harness. The buckle is about the same size as it is for a large dog. She called them and stated that they were not very helpful. Then she went to try to place a review on their website and it wouldn't let her click anything below three stars. I even tried it on my Chihuahua he absolutely refused to walk with it on the buckle is about 2 in wide and about a half an inch thick it's very cumbersome and quite honestly intimidating to a small dog. I hope they see this and offer my mom a refund or a viable solution with a smaller clasp. The company is asking for more details. I don't think I need to include any more details I explained that the class to secure the harness on the dog is huge cumbersome and intimidating it can pinch their skin severely. I highly do not recommend this item for a small dog.

Couldn't be better!
This is my third joyride harness, I love the fact that it is high vis and lights up because I walk my dog early in the morning when it is still dark out. He has two other Joyrides in two different colors - one for if he has a coat on and one for not. I love how sturdy they are and easy to get on and off, I have told others to try them!

We have two pocket beagles in the 20-25 pound range. The medium size J harnesses were too big for them. The small ones are ideal. The J harnesses with the illuminated strips are best for night walks. Our female tends to pull out of most harnesses, as a result we got her a different one with three point security (collar, neck, and belly straps). If your dog is not an escape artist, the J harness is the best. My five stars are for the harnesses with the illumination. I recommend this product.
