A company that forgot the problem they were trying to solve. I have lived in 2 LifeX apartments, One in London and one in Copenhagen. Spent 6 months in each. My first experience was in in London back in 2021.
My overall experience was great. The design, the service, the location. Everything from moving in to moving out was seamless and I felt taken care of.
Fast forward to 2025. The move in again was very easy. This time in Copenhagen. But the service (cleaning + solving the age old "can someone buy more toilet paper" problem) was noticeably worse. But the price was higher. Drains were clogged, cleaners didn't clean much. And when cleaners failed to come, the refunds were less than 10 bucks on a 420 dollar monthly service fee. And I know it is going to sound silly but they stopped providing the toilet paper, coffee and dish soap. Again, promises were made that our service fee would be reduced but at the end of my stay I was paying 400 for poor cleaning 2 times a month. We were 5 people in that apartment, some paying more than 400 dollars in service fee per month. Some quick math would give them a cleaning budget of around 2000 dollars a month. And I know they were not paying 1 grand for an hour of cleaning. In the end I cancelled my contract. It has been 2 months since. Deposit pending repayment. They claimed I stained bedsheets (spoiler alert: I did not). Said they would deduct 60 dollars from my deposit. Then proceeded to invoice me 60 dollars. I refused to pay at this point. Then they had the tenacity to send me two late fees for not paying. Eventually, around 1 month later they realised they had made a mistake and walked it back.
Look, I am not usually taking 30 minutes out of my day to write a review. So for me to do this, it required gross miss treatment, over promising and under delivering on a service that, truly, once, was great.
So do I recommend LifeX? No. Not in its current form. Underneath all the pretty pictures and Hay designed furniture lurks a darker truth. A company that lost touch with its core mission, and now they are just squeezing as much out from each tenant as they can.

Upon arrival, my "cleaned" room contained trash, cigarette packs under the bed, broken furniture, and the entire apartment was filthy with stains and dirt. To make matters worse, yesterday the apartment suffered catastrophic sewage flooding with water backing up in all drains. LifeX staff arrived on-site but claimed they could not pay the emergency plumber due to "internal ownership issues" and forced me to pay the €953.18 invoice out of my own pocket. I had to borrow money to cover this and am now left with only €40 to survive the month, after spending the night cleaning sewage off the floors alone. This is a severe health hazard and financial negligence, I require my refund and compensation for all this immediately.

Flats are great, people are reactive, service is fine. Some social events for people who want. I am in the flat for one year, good experience, I recommand.

I had some issues with communication but it was a really nice way to move to Munich. The support is super helpful. I would recommend, I made so many friends in Lifex. I would definitely recommend for at least the first 6 months of your stay in a new city. I stayed for much longer. It was difficult to leave but ultimately the price was too much.

LifeX: Overpriced, Overpromised, Underdelivered
I moved into the LifeX Oslo residence in August 2025, planning to stay for a full year. I was drawn in by what seemed like a clear and appealing offer: premium services, well-maintained shared spaces, and a hassle-free co-living experience.
Unfortunately, the reality turned out to be radically different. The huge gap between what’s advertised and what’s actually provided pushed me to end my lease early and leave on November 30.

1. A promised service that never existed: shared kitchen out of order
One of the main reasons I chose this flat over others — and a key element of the LifeX experience — was the shared kitchen. It was meant to be a central place to cook, meet people, and enjoy communal living.
But the induction stove has been completely broken for over a year, and still hasn’t been repaired.
The error code (E9) was first reported in autumn 2022, and yet, even today, the same service ticket remains open.
When I reported the issue myself in September 2025, I was told repairs were “in progress.”
But after asking other tenants and checking LifeX’s own internal threads, I discovered this was blatantly untrue. No progress had been made. No timeline. No compensation.
This deception — not just the absence of repair, but the failure to inform tenants or take action — is simply unacceptable.

2. Marketing promises not honored
LifeX presents itself as a “housing-as-a-service” company, offering responsive support, premium appliances, and proactive property management.
But here’s what actually happened:
• I paid full rent despite being unable to use the main advertised common area.
• No alternative solution was provided.
• No transparency on the problem or delay.
• No gesture of goodwill.
• And above all, no accountability.
In short, I signed a lease based on features and services that were never delivered.

3. Misleading notice policy that penalizes tenants
When I requested to end my lease on November 30, LifeX informed me that I’d still be charged until December 31, citing a “1-month notice.”
However, this notice period does not work as a rolling 30 days. Instead, it’s always rounded up to the last day of the following month, no matter when you submit your request.
The result? An artificial extension of rent, even when you’re leaving because of service failure.
This is a predatory policy, especially when the company is clearly at fault for not meeting its contractual obligations.

4. Broken communication: no support, no accountability
Whenever I tried to reach out to support:
• My in-app tickets were ignored or left unresolved.
• My emails went unanswered.
• Even when contacting someone competent and kind like Olivia, she admitted she had no power to act and just referred me back to the app — a loop of inefficiency.
So, there is no proper escalation channel, no functioning support team, and no willingness to own up to their mistakes.

Final thoughts: avoid LifeX at all costs
LifeX sells a compelling vision — turnkey co-living with top-notch service.
But in reality, you sign a lease full of promises that are never delivered, and you’re left paying the price for their failures.
At these rent levels, this is unacceptable.
And I can only imagine what kind of battle it will take to get my security deposit back.

We look back to our days at LifeX where we forged lifelong relationships with our roommates and have nothing but great memories. My partner and I lived at a LifeX residence for a year. It was the perfect accommodations for us as expats in a new city. The staff was very helpful and provided lots of valuable insights for us.

Living at Life X Apartments was a constant battle with an unprofessional and dismissive service team, particularly Corrine in CPH. Instead of fixing problems, they gaslit residents and acted like basic maintenance requests were personal attacks. There’s zero accountability and very slow to fix issues
To make matters worse, our deposit is long overdue with no clear explanation, just delays and evasive responses. This place is all branding and no substance. Avoid it if you value respectful treatment and financial transparency.

Lived in a LifeX property in Denmark. Was very easy and quick to move in, the house was quite nice and luckily we had great housemates that really made staying there so much better.
But..
Very expensive for what it is.
Like paying the same price of an entire apartment for a bedroom…
All cookware is in pretty crappy condition.
There is a linen cleaning service but we started doing it our selves as the majority of the house starting getting rash’s from whatever chemicals they use.
When moving in, our bed was freshly made, a week later when we stripped the bed we found the duvet/pillows/mattress topper all heavily stained (which was never replaced despite bringing it up to the cleaner)
When moving out they then tried to take majority of our bond for this.
After months we had finally (we thought) received our bond back, to which was 1200dkk less than what was agreed and in British Pounds for some reason? (We paid in Danish Krones)
So we are currently almost 3 months from our move-out date and still waiting for our hefty bond returned.
Any issues with the house take a VERY long time to get sorted due to them renting the property and needing the landlord to take care of it.
Also there’s constantly laundry, maintenance and other deliveries that have their own keys and just waltz in without knocking?
All in all, it can be a fun experience in a good house with good housemates, but LifeX are very quick to get you moved in and after that aren’t very helpful.
Pleeeease check EVERYTHING on your initial condition report because they will try and stooge you for anything.

House mates are great. Apartment is really nice. Love the vibe. But when something needs to be replaced or fixed, if it costs money, it is a battle. Our TV barely works, and I have complained about it for over a month. It started with just randomly turning off. Which is not something you can photograph and send to the help desk, which they insist on. They sent someone to look at the tv and found nothing wrong. Well, no kidding! It turns off randomly. Now it is so bad that we flip a coin to bet on whether it will work at all. When asked for the third time when they will fix/replace the tv, the response was “we have contacted other members of your household and they report no issue, so we will not be replacing the tv at this time.” Which was a bold faced lie. Nobody was contacted. In fact one housemate wrote them about the issue, and 3 days later (when they said they had contacted my housemates) they still hadn’t responded.
This isn’t the first issue we have had either. It’s a long list. They don’t replace dish towels. Forks. Pans that have eroded the non-stick coating. The list goes on. You have to fight for every little thing. For the money that we are paying to live here (full service package), one would think that we wouldn’t have to chase LifeX down for basic reasonable requests. And when the items do get replaced, 8/10 times it’s because we take our free time to go and shop for them ourselves, and then have to wait a month for reimbursement, even though I was promised rapid reimbursement. Because they either forget, or never get back to us. It’s constant, and it’s really unprofessional.
I actually wrote to both owners separately last year, detailing our complaints and concerns. I never heard back from either one of them (to the shock of nobody in this apartment).

DEPOSIT REFUND ISSUES.
The house was great. Housemates not so much, but then again, share living, it's somewhat part of the deal.
However, I'm struggling to hear back about the deposit. I moved out on January 8th, completed the inspection, and everything was in order. My contract was set to end in January 2025. It's now March, still haven't heard anything, and no replies to the emails.
In their web-page they give the following exemple: "if your contract ends on June 30th, you will receive the credit note by July 15th."
Definitely doesn't work as advertised.

Stayed in LifeX Paris Jouffroy for 18 months, after initially planning it as a brief stopover.
Why did I stay so long?
- fabulous service and ease. Having rented apartments in Paris for 6 years with long term contracts and sometimes waited weeks or months for issues to be addressed by landlords, I was blown away by the efficiency and promptness of how issues were resolved through LifeX. It really increased my peace of mind. Special shout out to Arthur who was so reactive and caring. I felt in such good, safe hands throughout my stay.
- all-in-one inclusive price. No more headaches of managing and negotiating individual contracts for electricity, water, cleaning, internet etc. I loved that it was all handled by LifeX
- the location in a really upscale part of the 17eme, just 50 metres from the metro station!
- amazing camaraderie and friendship from my housemates. The size of the apartment (5 bedrooms) meant we could bond like a family.
I will treasure my moments from my time at LifeX Jouffroy in Paris 😊 and am leaving with friends for life.

Bad experience. The free hustle experience they promise is not at all true.When something broke in our apartment we used to be ignored and on top of that blamed by their staff for not “saying it earlier” or for whatever reasons they could have to avoid to hire someone to fix the issue. They charge a lot of money even though they say it’s transparent, it really isn’t it is almost half as much as the rent for “services”.
Apart from that they don’t even Return the deposit on time. They would say it is in approvals but it’s been two months since I left and I only receive excuses.
I think if you can do the bare minimum time there if you really needed and then move on to a place where rest is actually normal and just wait rest of the year for your deposit to come.

As a former LifeX member, I want to say that I’ve been extremely impressed with the monthly events organized for the members. Every single one is well thought out, with fresh and creative ideas that keep things exciting and super fun. You can tell a lot of time and energy goes into planning them, and it shows in every detail.
The events are always a great way to bring the members together, and the posts leading up to them are always engaging and get everyone excited. EVERY TIME! It’s clear that there’s a real focus on creating meaningful experiences for everyone, not just something to fill the calendar.
I really appreciate the effort that goes into these events and always look forward to the next one. They’re a highlight of the month and a great way to connect with everyone.

Living with LifeX was the best experience of my life so far. The house was under great condition, and I was very lucky to have been able to share that space with some astonishing people. Our manager, Arthur, was also very helpful tending to our needs and requests. We even went shopping for plants to decorate the house. I would defiantly recommend LifeX, for anyone out there who are looking.

I’ve moved out ~1,5 months ago & have yet to receive my deposit as well as some other payments back.
I have been trying to reach out to the customer support for weeks now through email and the website, but to no avail. No response except for one „we‘ll forward this“.

Clean and modern rooms, I really enjoyed my stay in LifeX Hamburg. The flat was really well equipped with quality cutlary, appliances etc. Even the furniture were really well chosen. However the fridge did not include a freezer, so it was not really possible to store frozen food for more than a few days.
The team was kind and helpful so I appreciate that. The cleaning could have been done better, for instance the shower or the stovetop was never cleaned. A more detailed cleaning could be better but overall the flat was cleaned and tidied neatly every week.
The Wifi was a problem for me. It was a public, open wifi so I did not find it safe at all. Also the connection was weak most of the time, especially from my desk in room 2. In addition to these, the eternet cable was not working.
Lastly, both me and my roommate's wardrobe drawers were broken. It was frustrating because every time the drawers were opened it would fall over.
These details could be improved, but as I said, I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you for everything.
