We decided to use John M Lewis following such a fantastic experience when we purchased our house 4 years ago in order to write our Wills. Another fantastic experience, Jemma was professional throughout and really took the time to explain everything in detail to ensure a thorough understanding. We would definitely recommend this company and it’s services.

Really poor experience overall. I was constantly chasing for updates.
The sale ended up taking over six months, which is crazy considering there was no chain, so it should’ve been straightforward.

Because it was dragging on so long, I actually changed my mortgage rate to try and get a better deal and luckily I did, because we only completed two days after the original date. They even asked me to look for an extension before realising one had already been done.

I know the sellers solicitors weren’t great, but I honestly think if John M Lewis had been more proactive, we’d have completed a lot sooner. The whole thing just felt really unorganised and stressful.

Our experience with this firm for conveyancing was very disappointing from start to finish. Communication was inconsistent, and we often had to chase for updates or clarification on important matters. The process became drawn out and frustrating, and unfortunately, we never ended up completing our move.

While I can’t say for certain that the issues were entirely down to the solicitor, I do feel that a more proactive and responsive approach might have helped achieve a better outcome. Overall, it was a stressful experience, and I wouldn’t choose to use this firm again for conveyancing.

I can’t thank Georgina and Team Gillott enough for the excellent service they provided throughout the Transfer of Equity on my home. Despite several challenges caused by my mortgage company, Georgina was thorough, clear in her communication, and followed up regularly to chase the process. When advised to use John F lewis by the estate agent, I was a little concerned. Only because I had believed that solicitors who deal with a lot of conveyancing sit on files for ages. NOT this company. Jackie has been brilliant, even when the money was delayed, no fault on their part. We have been kept in the picture when needed. Which to me was wonderful. I didn't want/need every tiny thing being brought to my attention. Jackie (did what it says on the tin) and just got the job done. Sold on 11th July. All sorted by 26 th Sept. Wondereful. Jacqueline Byrd at John M Lewis is awesome. She saved the day, and pulled back my sale and purchase from falling through, after two prior solicitors let me down. Wasted months of time with Gorvins Residential LLP who did nothing, and Setfords who made me fill in all of the forms only to tell me they couldn't take my case. Jacqui did everything in a few weeks. Was very responsive by email and phone. I always felt like she had time for me. There was no hiding behind a corporate veil - this is a down to earth solicitor who gets the job done well and good. Will definitely use for my next transaction, and would strongly recommend this solicitor over any online or large organisation.
