Called this company for a blocked toilet issue. Advised it was a £45 call out fee but no quote could be given until they had seen the issue. We agreed and continued. They sent a man to our house who looked at the job, and inspected the pipes outside. Next thing he has jetted the pipe as it was blocked, and charged us £700. No invoice given, and no explination given. Sent a payment link on WhatsApp, asked it to be paid and left but stayed on our driveway. In 10 minutes the WhatsApp number called and messaged twice chasing the payment and then the man started knocking on the door demanding to be paid! And the WhatsApp number messaged to say he wouldn’t leave until it was paid. Very threatening and coercive.
As our daughter was due home from school and we didn’t want this man there to scare her, we paid.
That evening, we then found he had put faeces from the pipes into our recycling bins. Both of them, not bagged or anything just straight in to the bin, which the council now cannot collect until they are deep cleaned and uncontaminated.
The next day we find the pipe is now leaking toilet paper. I tried to call the company but no answer so I sent a complaint to their email address listed. My partner managed to get through to them, on the phone they confirmed they had my email and they would send an invoice and someone back around to fix the pipe. The man they sent this time tried to charge us until we insisted it was free. Still no reply to the email, no invoice sent at all, and no comments on the appalling service received. Do not use this company, they show no transparency in their prices, they show no respect for your home when there and they also threaten and scare you into paying.

James Plumbing and Drainage is a complete Rip-Off and a con artist. I looked up through the internet for a plumber near me and a list of Plumbing services came up. I called the first on the list and after an unacceptable charges, i called the next one on the list which happens to be James. I told him of a small leak from the hose that supplies the toilet tank with water. nothing serious.
James told me that the Call-Out charge will be 45 Pounds and on top of that will be cost of material and labour. i specifically asked James how much will be the expected total and he replied that he wouldn't know until the Engineer turne up on site and determined the type of material required. He sent out the Engineer. After One and half hours when I didn't see the Engineer, I called James again and he said the Engineer will be with me in under another hour. The Engineer turned up in another hour.
Danny as the Engineer is called fixed the water hose to the tank under 8 minutes, using a WRAS Flexible Hose 15mm compression x 1/2"F x 300 mm.
He put a call to James for my bill and James asked him how much was the material used in which Danny said 23 pounds. (When I looked up this material in nearby shops, it costs under 10 pounds).
James said my bill is 308 pounds and when i querried why I will be paying so much. He said the call out charge of 45 pounds and 23 pounds material, labour and emergency service charges cost 308 pounds.
When I reminded him that I specificallyasked for the total bill before the job was commenced and he refused to tell me, he said I should pay him the 308 pounds and make a refund from my home insurance. I told him I cannot pay such infalted amount for the job. I offerred him 100 pounds and he directed that I pay to his account which I did only to threathen me that a Debt Recovery agent will visit me in the next 30 minutes. He threathened that I am owing him the balance of 208 pounds. That was lies. A total rip-off and a con artist.
The Engineer, Danny is a very good man and understands my predicament but unfortunately, he couldnt do nothing.
I have read about similar nasty experience from many other clients of James Plumbing and Drainage Ltd. It is a shame that this company continues to operate, ripping off the British public in this manner.

Very prompt in responding to a call out, but we quickly found out why.
They took a total of over £1,500 from a quote of £1,875 and the only job they completed was installing a waste trap in the kitchen sink. They have put up an unvented boiler without the approved certification by G3 Engineers and all efforts to get the engineers to complete and sign off have been met with radio silence. They took over £750 as payments towards the installation by certified Engineers. Apparently, they quote for jobs that they do not have registered tradesmen for and run around to source the tradesmen. A different person turned up every time from the inspection to the sink plumbing, then they stay on your premises and have an invisible man called Anthony who demand payments before they leave the site. We were also sent picture evidence of electrical purchases being made for the project for which the materials never made it to our premises, but payments were taken for the so called purchases. Avoid them at all costs.

One of the worst services. The guy James over the phone said call out charge is £45. He sent someone else on his behalf from some other company. The person did half the job. After the Job james plumbing called and asked for £295 for a sink unblockage which they never provided the quote to begin with. They said initially we can come in an hour as we are free and later said it was an emergency call out and charges me £250 quid. Very unfair and doddgy.
There was no clear communication from them and they just come and try to do the job without a quote.

Addition
After posting my review, their team called me and offered refund of £95 in exchange of taking my review down. I have declined that but this shows and proves how wrong they were in customer dealing and reflects their reputation .

Asked them to come out and give a quote for a routine boiler service. Engineer just proceeded to service the boiler without informing us of the cost then asked for £250 payment for this and an additional £50 for an emergency call out fee. Absolute cowboys DO NOT USE!
