The worst, and I mean, the absolute worst service you can choose. They don’t take accountability, they’re slow, and they lie to you. They lost my number and now I’m going to have to contact the provider directly, which will make me pay twice as much. Save yourself the headache, go somewhere else.

If I could 0 stars I would, after a month they just decided to hand my contract over to another company without informing me, only found out after inquiring why my cell reception stopped working. Only to find out that the new contract would be a worse plan at a higher rate, had to get a new phone number and paid like 60$ in total because they have you pay a setup fee. AVOID them
DON’T TRUST THEM
DON’T TRUST THEM ! They charge you fees without telling, you receive tons of spams with link you shouldn’t click on and they refuse to refund you despite their policy of 21-day trial.
SMS service cuts off and SPAM is prominent
SMS service cuts off once per month as J1 sim does not pay T-Mobile in time. They seem to be reselling T-Mobile SIM cards.
I receive 20-30 spam calls a day using this number.

If I could put zero stars, I would get them 0/5. Before I arrived to the USA, I payed more than $60 for activation + first month, this is already a big amount, but I though that the mobile data would be really nice for such a lot of of money. When I arrived to the U.S. I could not activate my sim, j1 sim cards support could not help me and was really rude and not helpful at all, only when they redirected me to another boom support I could activate my sim, so I could make calls and use my mobile data, but I got mobile number that has a second user and I got a lot of troubles because of that. First of all, every day I received a lot of phone calls and messages directed to another user of my number. Also, I got troubles with my bank, because when I tried to send money to my landlord and I needed to answer a message from a bank I didn’t receive that message and my bank account was blocked because of suspicious activity. Another trouble that I had was when I payed for one more month, my sim card stopped working, I couldn’t use my mobile data again and I could not call anyone and I wrote support again but they told me that they can’t do nothing, so I need to borrow someone’s phone and call another support 🤡 I asked for a refund a lot of times, but they told me that they can’t refund me money until I solve my problem 🤡2x By the way, I called that support twice, but they never helped me to solve my problem with my sim.
Really bad phone provider
I used this phone provider for 6 months. First, it is way too expensive compared to what you can find in some other companies. The internet connexion is really low, and the coverage is bad. I was also not able to receive some MMS with pictures in it. Finally, they shut off my line due to a roaming usage in Canada but I've never been in Canada during the time I used this phone provider.
You should avoid this company you will find something better somewhere else for sure.

They deactivated my eSIM
Midway through the plan they deactivated my eSIMl telling me that they couldn’t support it anymore. They told me that if I wanted to keep my number I had to get a normal SIM card, which I obviously wasn’t able to, otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten an eSIM in the first place.
keep your fingers off
It was all good in the beginning but after 3 month I had so many issues while traveling to Canada. I had the exact same issue as Katharina said below. "They canceled my plan midway through because of “changes with the carrier.” I was not informed about this and left without a working phone. Customer support did nothing to offer to fix the problem. Also the same day activation did not work. Overall awful experience."

I need internet in my work and I’m paying for this program pretty much money a there is still some kind of problem with the internet. Some unknown numbers are calling me and it’s bothering me. I’m really disappointed. My roommates have SIM cards from other company much cheaper and it works perfect, I would never pay for J1 SIM card again !!!
Awful Company
Worst company i have used they left my phone in SOS mode contacted them and changed me to a virtual sim just for it to not work then end my contract worst company I have used and would never recommend

Never activated my phone. Kept giving me the run around. Scammers avoid at all cost.
Poor customer service
Due to the change from T-Mobile to AT&T I cannot recommend J1 Simcards anymore. It is really complicated to transfer the number and the support was not helping me at all. The kept repeating I should get in touch with T-Mobile and provide my account details. So overall I was not happy with their service.
Now it’s bad
Used to be really good but then they changed service providers all of the sudden (this totally went wrong).
I got a new SIM card but wanted to keep my old number, this didn’t work. My new data is not working and everything is getting complicated. Should have just sticked with TMobile. Now it’s just a mess.
Caused me a lot of inconvenience
Everything was fine until I got an email from them saying that they're switching from T-mobile to AT&T all of a sudden. My service stopped and I was left without any signal or data for a couple days as I had to wait for a new SIM card. Got my new SIM card, requested same day activation. Nothing. Waited one more day, nothing. I emailed customer service multiple times as I was anxious to have my phone working again and they just told me they'll get back to me once they have an update. It's been like 2+ weeks and I still haven't heard anything back from them. In the end I just bought a new SIM card from my local T-mobile store because I needed a working phone.
The phone number I had under J1SIMS was the number that was tied to all of my accounts, apps, and resume. It was very annoying that I had no choice but to change my number and being left without any service for a whole week was inconvenient to say the LEAST.
If you're an international student like me, my suggestion to you is just go to your closest mobile services store and get a SIM card there. That's what I should've done from the very beginning. I didn't give 1 star since I had been using J1SIMS for the past 3 years without much issues.... until now.

Absolutely worthless service
Absolutely worthless service. Had to transfer from T-Mobile to AT&T and the process totally got messed up. I ended up having to get a new phone number.

I put 1 star because I couldn't do less.
Paying 50$ per month I couldn't have important call records for legal matters because they don't track calls. I was forced to change sim card and almost lost my number.
