0 of 2 attempts succeeded
I've tried to use the app a couple of times now. They're aren't many restaurants in my area that take it, and for the two I tried, one restaurant said the app wasn't working and when I tried to pay at the other, my bill was $4 short of qualifying (a restriction i couldn't see ahead of time). So, im not having much luck.
My credits expired
I ate at certain restaurants to earned credit. I then found out the credits expire . They expire so in kind can make more money what a scam.
Customer support won't reply to emails…
Customer support won't reply to emails after waiting 3+ days. They bait and switch, I accumulated over $1000 in app balance to use at various restaurants in nyc in combination with occasional promo offers but as of a few weeks ago they no longer allow the use of promo offers with the account balance.
I love this app and program
I love this app and program. It brings even better value when you buy the gift cards at Costco.com. So many restaurants and no restrictions at any of them. Great customer service as well. Any negative reviews are from people who don’t know how to use the program - it’s amazing. Use it
Terrible to use
Went to the restaurant try to pay with the app could not restaurant didn't have any info on it later I found out that even if the restaurant was listed sometimes you cannot pay with it I get the discount they promise not user friendly and very inefficient
I had received a 80% off inKind cash…
I had received a 80% off inKind cash link from a representative as a result of an earlier issue, and then tried to use the link but it wasn't working. Then when I asked for it to be replaced the representative said they could no longer help.
Seems like a huge bait and switch, their offers change regularly and they do not honor what is communicated by their support team. Would advise caution with their bonus/inKind cash purchase offers.
Is this a joke
You're sitting at the restaurant with your date, stumbling around trying to find the freaking discount, then just give up. You call them, and they relay the obscure place where it resides. You skip this joke of an ap forever until you find a 15 buck off offer for an online purchase, which naturally, at check out, is nowhere to be found. How this company stays in business is miraculous
Skeptical at first but pleasantly surprised
I don’t understand all the negative reviews about InKind. I admit I was skeptical when seeing the promos and I didn’t start using the app till I saw a $25 off $25 offer and figured why not? I am really pleasantly surprised by my experience. While the restaurant selection could be more robust, there are enough I am familiar with to have used it. I even found a great Japanese place with a really good happy hour on the app. I was not thinking I’d use it a lot but found I’m going to keep it and I’m using it about once a month. Also, I did have to reach out to customer service (my fault, not theirs) and they did a great job and went beyond my expectations.
Did not work!! No customer service!!
Worked great the first couple times we used it. However, my husband and I went to a restaurant only because we had a reward for $20 that was about to expire. When we tried to pay using the app, we kept getting an error message stating that.” they are having problems connecting and to try again”. We kept trying for 30 minutes before we finally had to pay the whole amount using our cc. Customer Service is a joke when they only allow you to contact them through email responding 24-48 hours later. No phone number listed. BEWARE!!!!
Don't trust their system
InKind could do great if they didn't rip off their customers. I applied my coupon and their app said they used the coupon but they took the full balance prior to discount out of my balance. I realized now that it happened with my 3 prior transactions. I notified them amd worst customer service. You can really tell if the company will survive by their customer service.
I have $300 giving to me as a gift
I have $300 giving to me as a gift. Tried to use it at a restaurant that took it. Couldn't figure out how to pay from the inkind app. The kid at the register kept trying as well. Ended up having to use my C.C.to pay.
Worked well several times until...
Worked well several times, but if you need a refund it appears there is no way to get one credited thru the app. I had ordered online and paid before order pickup. Then the restuarant was unable to fulfill part of the order and initiated a refund. The refund never cleared thru InKind. The restaurant Mgr was great about followup but eventually had to just give me cash back. Pretty ridiculous as this should be basic functionality.
They Leaked My Phone # (So Much Spam)
Started getting a bunch, and I mean a bunch, of spam text messages literally the day after I signed up for this app. It's distinct as I haven't gotten that many in the past over the course of years let alone days. I feel so stupid for having given it my phone number, and it also felt kind of scammy to have to give NOT ONLY phone number, but also email... just to download their app! Red flags. Pathetic. Lame. It's not worth it. I'm furious that my information was leaked.
Such a sneaky company
Such a sneaky company. They’re super tech and research-based with people/AI at the helm, knowing how to quickly and quietly get charges from your card with barely a mention.
I was left with ONE Bay Area location left to use InKind within a 30 mile radius of the restaurant (Veggie Grill) I initially bought InKind cash for. So I finally go there because out of nowhere I had “2 days until your balance expires”! Luckily the staff at The Grove in Felton, CA knew about their affiliation with InKind, but that didn’t make it easy to make the purchase.
I had InKind Wallet and InKind cash. Of course I want to spend those. The app already knows I’m at The Grove, but the options to click are Purchase $240 of credit for $195 and and Purchase $270 of credit for $210 and another deal like that. Dude I almost did that! Sneaky way for InKind to get you to mistakenly click something when you’re standing at the register with a line behind you. Finally I see the “Use $4.27 in expiring cash” ok, then it says “Pay additional $55.30 on VISA”. Dude, no, I have $40 more in InKind…why on Earth would it prompt me to use my Cc before using the “Credit” or “Wallet” or whatever function they’ve stashed my $40. I was so close to having gotten a $55.30 bill and still having my expiring InKind credit, I’m convinced they design (redesigned…it’s definitely different than the last two times I’ve used it) it to get your cash. Which, duh, they exist to do that. But to offer a deal last year, for $130 at Veggie Grill for only spending $100, then no longer partner with VG, BUT STILL SAY SO IN THE APP (!!!!) only to have me pay at the register with, then hear it didn’t pay them because they cut ties…dude maybe this doesn’t make sense but that’s because it doesn’t make sense. Bro I Zelle, transfer, Plaid, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Wallet, credit, debit, pay with miles, pay with points, use Miles + Points + Flight Credit, etc. It all works. I’m not an invalid. I’m suggesting InKind is. I’m at least glad The Grove has a patient and kind staff (Saturday AM, 11/29) to deal with a blur of clicks from a nervous customer and trust his use of the App “Please Show Your Server” what a weird way to convince them you’ve paid. (Paid YOU lol I have no clue if The Grove got my payment or the girl got my tip. I hope so)
You kind of exist as a non-physical location shuffler of internet money that makes money and profits from peoples confusion. Are your employees all at home in their underwear? Sorry to dis your employees, but you did nearly con $260 from me by suggesting I click somewhere that should have paid my bill, but instead paid your salary.
NOT user friendly
NOT user friendly. $20 off our meal DID NOT WORK at Dogwoods Tavern. In fact, the app double-charged us for our meals, instead. The amount of time spent trying to get the app to work properly—if that’s possible—is not worth anywhere near the $20 discount. BEWARE—Do Not Use!
Their employee Evan Alter charges back…
Their employee Evan Alter charges back on credit cards for completed work. I would not trust a company that employs him.
A sorry excuse for an app
After using an offer for $50 off $150 at Ophelia restaurant in NYC, inkind used every excuse possible not to honor the offer. All were ludicrous and insult my intelligence: my bank has not approved the transaction; I have a new address; there was a typo in my card number; they reached out to American Express and found out there was a problem with the payment (I do not have AMEX). All in all, a waste of much time and energy to deal with people who acted in bad faith. Why isn't there a Zero Star option? One star is one star too many for this sorry excuse for an App
There was a $50 toward Restaurant…
There was a $50 toward Restaurant purchase credit, if one made a reservation, which I wanted to do.
Stupidly and lying the entire time – – after getting my phone number and email, it said I had to download their app
God, I hate being lied to and misled to download apps. I canceled everything.
Just be honest and do not miss lead people to downloading their information so you can sell them ads. It’s time to stop all of this crap.
Customer service is non existence
Customer service is non existence, IV has several issues in the past, and it's always a song & a dance. Cash back is a total rip off, why do I purchase money into my account and can't reap the benefits of cash back. Could be a great problem, but not professional and employees not very knowledgeable about their product
The best ever food App!
The best ever! Have used this App at least 10 times and everything went perfect! also, there are restaurants are all great and seem to be higher end. I don’t understand reviews that say this app is a scam. It’s far from being a scam would highly recommend to anyone.
