Still Being Charged for Defunct Imagekind Website

I've been a paying customer of Imagekind.com since 2022. The site appears to have gone offline sometime in 2024—it's now just a placeholder page wishing visitors happy holidays. Emails to support bounce back, and there's no way to log in or cancel service. Despite this, I'm still being charged a monthly fee.

After contacting my bank, I was referred to CafePress, which acquired Imagekind in 2008. However, CafePress now claims they sold the company and have no records or responsibility, even though public information still links Imagekind to their brand.

There is no clear ownership, no customer support, and no way to cancel the service from the customer side. This is an unacceptable business practice and borders on fraud. I’ve filed a complaint with my bank, the BBB, and the FTC.

Imagekind has devolved into the worst of POD websites! I have been a member since 2008. Artists are not getting paid for sales and the site has been down for many days now with no way to communicate. It is a complete sham! Where is the money for sales made going? BBB will hear about this.

These people make it impossible to unsubscribe from their monthly membership plan!!! They never ever return replies to my emails instructing them to cancel my membership and to return my picture portfolio. They continue to post my art work on Amazon at exorbitant prices, much much higher than any prices that I ever posted for my artwork, however I have not received any commission payments in over 4 years. They never respond to my emails!!! What they are doing is absolute theft of my property and stealing the commissions from sales of my property. On top of all that, they make it utterly impossible to cancel my membership, but manage somehow to charge my credit card every month for subscription fees. I’ve alerted my credit card several times to the problem, and have documented to them about this fraudulent activity, however Imagekind somehow overrides their system and keeps charging my credit card. Imagekind is like a cancer…it is your worst nightmare!!! I even went on Google Earth and looked up their posted address, it looks like an abandoned warehouse, a close inspection of the doorway entrance shows weeds growing in front of the door. Through Google Earth it was able to make out the name of the business next door, just to the right to of them, it’s a pet friendly Bar. I found their phone number and called them, when I asked about their next-door neighbor, Imagekind, they said they’ve never noticed anybody ever come and go there???

IF YOU ARE AN ARTIST - do not use this site, first its hard to sell there. Second they don't pay you and will ignore you.

They owe me money at least $100, they have a threshold to meet before you can get paid. Only thing is, they don't pay you, they ignore you, and if you erase all the work like I did, they lock you out of your account. Luckily I took screen grabs, then complained to the BBB, I doubt anything will happen. This company is a scam, as far as I'm concerned, they are selling our work illegally if they keep all the profit.

IF YOU ARE A BUYER THAT LIKES TO SUPPORT ARTISTS - Then don't shop here, they don't support artists. They will sell your work at the price the artists sets, then they will keep all the profit, then ignore the artist, and then lock them out of the account for some reason. As far as I'm concerned, they are scammers and shouldn't be allowed to stay in business.

I've been using Imagekind since 2008 to sell prints of my artwork. Within the past couple of years, they haven't paid me the commissions I've earned. I've tried reaching out to the company numerous times, but have continued to get ignored. They don't even have a phone number you can call to reach them - you have to contact them via email, which is easy enough for them to filter out emails or just flat out ignore you.

What's also frustrating is they have a feeds program with Amazon where they'll list your artwork on Amazon to sell. Since they stopped paying me my commissions, I've had to delete my images from Imagekind's site so that they don't make any additional sales that they don't pay me for, but with their Amazon feeds program, they still have hundreds of my images listed on Amazon. I have to reach out directly to Amazon to remove each listing one by one - it's been a complete nightmare.

If you're considering supporting or using Imagekind, I urge you to run the other way. It's been a complete nightmare trying to contact them.

Imagekind is an absolute nightmare to deal with. I've reached out to them countless times via email, and guess what? Crickets. Not a single response. And let's not even talk about getting paid. It's like pulling teeth.

Their so-called "statistics" are a joke. I've had my artwork on their platform since the Stone Age, and they still can't manage to provide accurate sales figures or payments. They've owed me money since the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

And let's not even get started on their shady practices with Amazon. They continue to sell my work without my consent or compensation. It's a blatant disregard for artists' rights and a prime example of corporate greed at its finest.

But wait, it gets worse. You'd think that withdrawing money from your own account would be a piece of cake, right? Wrong. There's no way to withdraw funds from their platform, even if you've met their ridiculous minimum sales threshold. It's like they're holding our hard-earned money hostage.

And don't even think about trying to get help from their customer service. It's non-existent. I've tried reaching out through every possible channel—email, phone, carrier pigeon—and still nothing. It's like they've vanished into thin air.

I'm fed up with Imagekind's unethical practices and lack of accountability. They've turned into a cesspool of incompetence and deceit. Save yourself the headache and stay far, far away from this dumpster fire of a company.

As the manager of a non-profit art studio serving individuals facing homelessness in Skid Row, my experiences with Imagekind have been deeply troubling.

Imagekind callously sells prints of our immensely talented artists' work without bothering to keep proper records of the sales on our account. It was only brought to our attention that they sold ten out of the twenty paintings we know of when external agencies, such as a museum in Santa Monica and a non-profit justice center, reached out to inform us about showcasing our artwork. They even provided invoices for their purchases. This raises a crucial question: how many more sales have they made without our knowledge, leaving our artists unpaid and their talents unacknowledged?

In July 2023, Imagekind acknowledged their debt to us, placing the blame on the absence of PayPal on our account for non-payment. Despite rectifying this in October, it's now March 2024, and Imagekind continues to ignore their financial obligations. Our artists, who pour their hearts into their creations, are left with nothing but empty promises and overlooked invoices.

To make matters worse, Imagekind's communication is virtually nonexistent. Their phone line seems to lead to a void, swallowing up all attempts at contact. Emails either receive deafening silence or, at best, a fleeting promise of a call that never materializes. It's not just frustrating; it's downright heartless.

I've agonized over whether to maintain our account with Imagekind, holding onto the hope that our artists will eventually receive the rightful compensation they deserve. But this ordeal feels less like a struggle and more like a deliberate exploitation. Are Imagekind's actions merely negligent, or are they intentionally criminal?

Artists experiencing homelessness deserve dignity and respect. Let this be a firm warning to all: Imagekind cannot be trusted. Stand with us in demanding accountability and justice for our artists.

An artist licensing my images to Imagekind for over a decade when the company started to act unethical in 2022. They have owed me a commission payment since 2022. I have asked them to stop selling/representing me or my work, yet they continue to sell my work on Amazon and not pay a licensing fee for it. Imagekind has turned into an unethical company

I set up here around 5 or 6 years ago. Was on free account. Hardly made any sales. So, I was tempted to try Platinum based on their statements about better coverage.
Don't believe the rubbish they spout. I have had NO extra help. It's like they steal your money and do nothing for the cash.
Now, I can't even downgrade to FREE again, and support never replies on Facebook, their email, anywhere!!
Been asking to close my account for over a month now and get my cash...nothing!!
Don't trust and don't put your artwork there.
