From a parent’s perspective: do not encourage members of your family to book with this tour company in future. I can’t comment on the quality or indeed review the tour because my daughter did not get to Croatia and was cancelled less than 24 hours before - despite being categorically told her tour was definitely running as she was not travelling with P&O. Friends up and down the country are also in the same situation and are being cancelled for trips running after Easter. There is a distict lack of communication from this appalling company and a blatant disregard for students. Furthermore, my daughter has been informed she must wait 30 days for a refund preventing her from booking an alternative trip in the Easter holidays. If necessary we will be pursuing this matter legally.

DO NOT BOOK ANY TRAVEL WITH THIS COMPANY.
I know you’d think it’s exciting and fun to go on tour at university but if it’s this company I would advise reconsidering.

Students were left stranded in England before they could even get to Croatia and other coaches ended up taking 13 hours longer than they should of. Making their coach journey last 30 hours, already taking up two days of their trip. Alongside this two of the coach drivers got in an ‘alleged’ altercation.

Rooms also do not have wifi, activities are poorly organised and your staff do not care. I can only hope the rest of the trip is half decent.

NEVER use this company. They sent myself and 48 other students on a coach with faulty brakes. We got off the coach in Dover because we could all smell burnt rubber and the coach drivers let us all back on the coach not knowing if it was safe to do so, risking all our lives. To then leave us high and dry at a service station for 7 hours with empty promises of another coach coming that never even existed by the sounds of it. We then had to go back home whilst all of our friends and other societies went on tour, because they wouldn’t even assist us with alternative transport. Absolutely disgusting.

Do not use this company. They left 49 students stranded all day yesterday 2nd April 2022 they were booked to go to Croatia. They did not communicate with them all day they left them stranded at a service station for approx 7 hours eventually to be picked up and taken back to their university with no explanation as to why their trip was cancelled. You need to contact these students immediately with answers why this has happened.

They have cancelled several tours today 1/4/22 and not offering refunds and not answering phones. This company should be closed down .

Cancelled my trip due to Covid-19 and delayed refund for 4 months. Still not refunded. Now ignore my emails.

Tour cancelled, still no refund, they do not return calls. AVOID!

Went on tour to Rimini 2019
Hotel was disgusting and incredibly cold, a lot of us ended up falling ill after tour
Area was dangerous, we were not allowed to walk alone or on certain paths due to stabbing a in the area
Tour reps don’t really know what they’re doing but it’s not their fault because management is bad
Hotel made us pay a ridiculous amount of money in ‘damages’ that were not caused by us and held our passports HOSTAGE until we paid up.

I travelled to Amsterdam back in 2016 after my trip had been delayed 3 times. The first two trips cancelled as our university rep had not secured enough interest, therefore I Love Tours deemed the trip not viable. Despite me and my partner paying the deposit (which we were told would only be taken if we didn’t pay the remaining amount and was about 40% of the total price), when the tour was cancelled a second time the company withheld our deposits, saying they had maintained their end of the bargain. At this point I sought legal advice, and after a lot of arguing the third trip was arranged.

The coach left without someone and had to go back. When we eventually got there our “double room” was two small singles with no working hearing, a toilet door that didn’t lock, curtains that were too small for the window and only one lockable locker had a working door. The communal toilets had broken glass on the floor.

Our tour guide was on drugs for the majority of the trip. She absloutely stank in weed, and this is someone we trusted with our travel plans. On the last day I informed her that I have mobility problems so cannot walk very fast which she said she was aware of and understanding of. She left about 20 minutes late for the bus and sped walked/ran. I couldn’t keep up and we ended up asking for directions to the bus port as lost the group.

We only just made the ferry, once back in the Uk we were so behind schedule our coach drivers weren’t avaliable. We ended up waiting an hour for a driver to arrive because our current one couldn’t continue for legal reasons (had maxed his driving time). To top it all off we got back to uni about 4 hours later than planned.

Both myself and my partner complained to the company and received no reply.

Would never use again.

My 18-year-old daughter went on a University trip to Spain with I love Tour . She stayed at Hotel Jaime in Salou and, when she checked out, I Love Tour reps told her she had to pay 300 Euro because the hotel staff had found a crack in the glass partitioning of her room balcony. Despite my daughter repeatedly telling the hotel staff and I Love Tour reps that she had not caused the damage, the reps threatened her to withhold her passport and not let her return to the UK unless she paid 300 Euro. She called me in tears telling me she had not broken the glass partitioning and was being treated like a criminal. It was only after I called the hotel and threatened the reps to call the police to report that they were holding my daughter for ransom – that (as if by magic) the damage that was “worth 300 Euro” became “only a hairline crack”.
I am appalled by what happened. Trying to make a profit by asking students money for something they have not done is dishonest and immoral. Threatening them to be held for ransom is a criminal offence (False Imprisonment) that carries a jail sentence. Obviously I Love Tour reps are not aware of this.
I wrote to I Love Tour General Manager to demand an explanation and a formal apology from the reps in question to my daughter. They caused her a terrible distress by treating her like a criminal and threatening to stop her from returning to the UK. I received no reply from the General Manager.
