This company makes bomb proof packs, and is constantly inovating with new products. I have had my Southwest 4400 for years and its taken a beating and still going strong!
I want to upgrade to their new model but cant justify since my current one looks almost new despite going on multiple trips a year for the past 5+ years.
BEWARE OF HIDDEN COSTS! Hyperlite advertises one shipping price at checkout, but international buyers (like me, out of US) get hit with surprise fees—import taxes, "handling" charges, and agent fees that aren’t disclosed upfront. I paid usd88 for shipping, then got slapped with another usd47 after delivery.
When I complained, they told me to "read the shipping terms" (buried in another page) and refused accountability. Worse, returns force you to pay all shipping+ 20% restocking fees—meaning you’re punished for their lack of transparency, and paid USD300++ with zero products.
Hyperlite isn’t a scam (I received my item), but it’s deceptive and exploitative toward non-U.S. customers. Demand full cost breakdowns BEFORE ordering, or prepare for nasty surprises. Never buying from them again. Fyi, have filed the claim to the authorities to the shipping company. FTC will not proceed for individual overseas complaints. Any of the purchaser same like me, i hope you voice out and file to FTC.
Awful customer service. It takes them 2-3 days to respond to requests that come in via their ticketing system. They tell you to call them if you have a question - and when you call them, they tell you to submit a ticket. I wanted to place an order that I need urgently and told them to cancel the order if they can't ship soon enough - and the only response I got the next day was "it's too late to change anything now". They don't appear to have any interest in giving their customers a good experience. This is an experience that other clients have also made (see the reviews on hyperlite's own website).
I got the 4400 northrim who I love the design, pretty waterproof with the pods I order and the shoulder pocket not really useful.
The Confort is not terrible, no ventilation you are wet easily but the worst is above the weight you can carry on even with only 20 pounds you have pain to your back and neck it also hurt me at my hips some mark and hard to carry on. So if you go really light less than 20 pounds I think he is great. But don't expect more about this expensive product. But i still love the design and the waterproof ability.
The color is also terrible in one track the backpack is getting dirty and you can't really do a lot against that... So hard to sell it after all...
