Beware choosing an annual plan hostycare

Beware before choosing an annual plan with Hostycare.

During the one-month trial period, the support team was polite, responsive, and helpful. However, after purchasing the annual plan, the experience changed significantly.

I requested a temporary CPU upgrade for just one month and clearly stated that I was ready to pay the additional monthly charges. Despite this, my request was completely denied, and I was told that upgrades are only possible if I commit to a full 12-month upgrade payment.

This felt unfair, as short-term scaling is a common and reasonable requirement for growing websites. When I mentioned that many other hosting providers allow monthly or temporary upgrades, the response was simply that “this is not how it works here.”

What was disappointing is that during the trial period, the service was compared with providers like DigitalOcean, creating an impression of similar flexibility. In reality, once you are locked into an annual plan, that flexibility does not exist.

My concern is not about paying extra — I was fully willing to do so — but about the lack of scalability options for existing annual customers.

I recommend that potential customers carefully consider this limitation before committing to an annual plan, especially if you expect your resource requirements to change over time.

As per our Fair Usage Policy

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter.

At Hostycare, all service upgrades—including CPU, RAM, and other resource add-ons—are governed strictly by our publicly available Plan Upgrade Policy, which is clearly stated on our website and accepted by the customer at the time of purchase.

As per our policy:

Customers subscribed to Yearly (Annual) Plans are eligible to upgrade resources only on a yearly billing cycle.

Temporary or one-month upgrades are not available for annual plans, as add-ons must follow the same billing cycle as the primary service.

This policy is applied uniformly to all customers to ensure billing transparency, infrastructure stability, and fair resource allocation.

During the trial and sales process, no assurance of short-term or temporary upgrades on annual plans is provided, nor is Hostycare positioned as a pay-as-you-go cloud provider like DigitalOcean. Any comparison made is limited to service quality and support standards, not billing flexibility.

We would also like to clarify that:

The request was not denied arbitrarily, but declined strictly in accordance with our written policy.

The customer was not restricted from upgrading, but the upgrade required alignment with the annual billing structure, which was clearly communicated.

We fully respect that different providers offer different pricing and scaling models. However, presenting Hostycare’s clearly defined and disclosed policy as unfair or misleading is factually incorrect.

For transparency and fairness to future readers, we request that this review be evaluated in light of the publicly available policy accepted by the customer at the time of purchase.

We remain available to assist customers in selecting plans that best match their scalability requirements before committing to long-term billing cycles.
