Horizon Academic Research Program Anmeldelser

I had a 10/10 experience at Horizon, especially because of how supportive and knowledgeable my professor was throughout the program. His ability to lead engaging discussions and explain complex economic concepts made the research process both intellectually challenging and genuinely enjoyable.

My mentor was amazing and supported me every step of the way. Furthermore, all of the members of the team were supporting me every step of the way.

I had a great experience. Horizon helps me dive deep into research writing, and the other resources provided helped me to optimize my writing. My mentor was very experienced and definitely knew what he was doing.

The professors were extremely helpful and very experienced in their field.

I've had a very positive experience mentoring students through the Horizon Academic Research Program. The program provides students with meaningful opportunities to develop research skills, think critically, and engage with academic literature while receiving individualized guidance. The Horizon team is well organized, communicative, and supportive of both mentors and students, making it an enjoyable and rewarding environment to teach in. I would recommend Horizon to students looking for a structured introduction to academic research and independent scholarship.

My experience with the Horizon Academic Research Program was both challenging and really rewarding. I appreciated how rigorous the academic side was- it pushed me to think more critically and take my research seriously- but at the same time, the environment was very friendly and supportive. My mentor was patient and never made me feel inexperienced, which made a big difference in my confidence. Overall, I would definitely recommend Horizon to students who want to grow academically while being supported along the way.
So in the end, with the help of this program, I managed to successfully complete a 27-page paper on Multiple Sclerosis.

Horizon was such a supportive and inspiring space to grow as a researcher. The mentors really cared and guided me with patience and encouragement. I came away with stronger writing, more confidence, and a deeper love for learning. It was honestly a life-changing experience I’m so grateful for.

My experience with Horizon has been transformative. Coming from a high school with almost no academic resources—no Wi-Fi, no computers, no outside guidance—I was used to figuring everything out on my own. Horizon changed that. For the first time, I had access to professors who guided me, challenged me, and believed in my potential.

I worked with my mentor on behavioral economics and decision-making under resource constraints, and it opened my eyes to how real research is done. Horizon gave me structure, feedback, and encouragement at a level I had never experienced before.

Most importantly, Horizon showed me that even if your background lacks support, opportunities like this can bridge the gap. I recommend it especially for students who feel overlooked by their schools—Horizon can give you the mentorship and confidence you need to pursue your ambitions.

Horizon was an amazing experience that helped me dive deep into machine learning and deep learning. My research focused on predicting breast cancer survival using tabular clinical and genetic data. Thanks to my mentor, I learned how to work with real-world datasets, build and compare different models, and evaluate them using survival metrics. Horizon also helped me improve my research writing and understand how to structure a formal academic paper. I’m currently finalizing my work and look forward to publishing it soon. This program really boosted my confidence in applying data science to meaningful, real-world problems.
