Avoid like the plague
Avoid like the plague, they do not care about the tenants, they will say they are making changes but its all just talk. Just because you have a key card which you have to swipe twice to enter your building does not make it safe, on more than one occassion random people have accessed the building. No monitoring of builders when extensive works are being done, who always leave the front doors wedged open or unlocked when they've finished for the day. They expect you move rooms a few weeks before you're due to move out. No consideration for the tenants. Do not waste your money.
Do not use Hello Student or Empiric…
Do not use Hello Student or Empiric Student Properties. Absolutely terrible customer service, tiny rooms with the heating always on, everything breaks, and they will take ages to fix anything. CSA is never on site. Use anything else in Oxford
I write about Northgate House
I write about Northgate House, Cardiff. The accommodation is clean and spacious. We rented a single studio which has been suitable for student life. It is comfortable and functional. The location is superb. The facility is well maintained with security staff who are reactive and efficient whilst being extremely kind. We have met one in particular who was amazing, you know who you are! Whilst there is no common room in this particular facility the kindness of ‘neighbours’ has been evident and welcomed. A big thanks to those who helped a student in need.A comfortable, safe and well maintained residence so far. Thank you to all those involved
WAAYYYY TOO OVERPRICED TO THEN HAVE MAINTENANCE ISSUES
Water is leaking down from my fan in the bathroom every time the tenant upstairs takes a shower. This then causes the electricity to go out! We have to pay so much rent just to have leaks and no lights. All they say is maintenance will seal it back up but how long will that last?

Can’t quite understand the negative reviews. I have found them communicative and helpful. My son hasn’t moved in yet however but up till now they have been excellent

my toilet has been leaking for the past two weeks and I have requested to change rooms however all I have been told is to wait for maintenance and that the rooms are fully booked. Having to wake up and clean the mess, return from the library and clean a floor full of mess… an absolute disgrace
The WORST student accommodation ever…
The WORST student accommodation ever paying for CRAP!!! Would leave ZERO stars if I could ! OVERPRICED NONESENSE!!! Accommodation caught a REAL fire because NO FIREPROOFING! No security always unmanaged! NO WATER FOR DAYS! DO NOT BOOK !
Overpriced and inflexible, plus too noisy.
Overpriced accommodation for no particular reason. There is too much noise, and little interest and no effort to help you with anything other than paying your rent. Every personal effort to reach someone beyond the first line customer service (who almost generically answer your questions by copying and pasting answers from past questions) has hit the wall. As a (supposedly valuable) customer you need to know the costs to particular services they offer. If you ask them, they will either answer that the cost will be ‘approximately that’ and if you kindly ask them to confirm the exact (rather than approximate) amount, they don’t answer back. If by any means you need to leave (even a little) earlier before your tenancy agreement ends, there is no way you could work out a subletting option as the company has very rigid/inflexible policies that makes it impossible for the incoming/replacement tenants to agree, as those policies introduce costs and risks that make the subletting of your room unattractive, given the abundance of more flexible and less expensive studios and other housing options (with same or even better quality and customer service). Concluding, if you book with them, do not expect to sublet your room to earn back a couple of month’s rents.
Bad attitude of staff
The attitude of the management team combined with a lack of accessible customer service results in an incredibly toxic living environment
Very Stressful Environment
I live in Hello Student Cardiff (Windsor House) and the amount of fire alarms is absolutely awful. They do fire drills once a week at inconsistent times, super loud in your room red lights blaring for like 5 mins straight (not an exaggeration). I had a job interview over video call and booked it for 2pm thinking I'd be safe bc the alarms usually go off in the morning and the alarm went off halfway through and lasted ages. It was v embarassing and made me look awful. If you're going to do these alarms all the time do them at the same time and tell residents when so this can be avoided. Plus they always schedule weird maintanence checks over like a 3 day period so I wait at home for them to show and nobody ever turns up?? Very stressful living here for the amount you have to pay, would not reccommend:/
A student accommodation that force students to move out
They are refurbishing their student accommodation in Bristol while the students are still living there. The directly affected floors are forced to move out even the tenancy hasn't ended, while the others either have to move out or bear with the noise and dust.
