I've used Heartland for card processing for over 8 years. Very recently, they sneakily dropped a new $499 "enhancement" fee on my monthly bill. Sometimes I may only process $500/month through them, so I was basically paying my customers to take product. When I tried to call and investigate, I spent hours on hold and no one was ever able to offer me an useful explanation or resolve my issues. There are far more reputable card processing companies out there to use. Stay away from this one.

There are no people that work at this company. There is no support. Their app is terrible and only really useful for clocking in and out. Making any changes to direct deposit or tax forms is next to impossible. The interface is appalling, and there is no way to easily bookmark the login page on a browser because it's such a weird series of redirections. Don't use this company.

Stay as far away from Heartland as you can! All of their sales people are leaving because of their recent business practices. I’m a restaurant owner who was with them until March of 2025. I canceled all of my accounts April 5th, 2025 after they increased my processing fee from .62 to 3.10…an average unit would have fees of around $3500. In March the same store went up to $10,000. They also added a $499 technology fee to every account. My guess is theyre inflating their balance sheet. I’m in discussions with an attorney if anyone wants to join a class action lawsuit!

We terminated services, but they continue taking (stealing) money from our account. They also sent sales reps to try to sell other services, who actually impersonated customer service people who we thought could help fix problems. Horrible people IMHO. Stay away.

Heartland "analyzed" my credit card transactions and the rep assured me they would save me thousands of dollars if I switched over to them. Instead, my merchant fee percentage went up and that decision cost me thousands. The last straw was when they imposed an annual "infrastructure fee" without warning or approval. I immediately closed the account and moved to another provider. I have requested a refund of the infamous infrastructure fee and have been told they cannot refund it because the account is closed. (Of course, if the account stayed open, they would not have refunded it either). Don't touch this company with a ten foot pole.

Out of contract and raised rates a lot!
Offered very little to rectify the problem and continue to charge fees after I told them I was no longer interested in doing business with them.
I have a NEW company and have no contract with them but they are still taking money from my account.

horrible customer service, no response. Website is not user friendly and cannot locate previous paystubs. Their app has clocked me out on 2 separate days while at work.

I reached out to Heartland Ecsi today in order to find out why my refund had been pending for over 48 hours, and the customer service agent ended the chat after telling me they had no experience in refunds, that I should call the number. I then asked for a different agent and they ended the chat.

So bad and unreliable
I am trying to pay for a parking pass for school and the only payment option is through myschoolbucks.
The order went through but its not showing up on myschoolbucks. why cant I just pay for it on the website? i gotta use this crap instead!

Today I tried calling them on the phone, the phone call hung up on me as the robot was transferring me to a support agent. After this, I tried to do an online chat with a virtual agent. I sent them messages here and there was no response, just a blank screen. Clearly, their service is terrible and I do not recommend them because it is not convenient, cannot talk with a real human, and the whole interaction is frustrating because they will not even reply through standard email. Two Stars. Crappy and terrible.
This company has some great rates! I have been with them for almost a year and have no complaints.
Terrible service. Another company that collects money for nothing. Want us to do everything like our time isn’t worth anything. Yet they came to us so why not do your job? You have reps make them work for our money. I’d love to be done with Heartland
After being with them for many many years, I found out that they increased my monthly rate about 1.5 years ago without informing me. That's really low, and because they take it from the paycheck, this isn't obvious. They've offered to do nothing to give me that money back either. I'm out.
