I just checked multiple email addresses that I have used over many years and its findings accurately found webhosts where I had submitted my email addresses and were subsequently hacked. This did, of course, include Comcast. Shameful. HIBP reports also included collections of hacked email addresses that flat around the Dark Web.
I initially was uncomfortable entering my email addresses on another unknown (to me) website, but this outfit seems genuine. But now, once my email addresses are out there in the wild, there is not much you can do.

I am grateful to be told I have been pwnd having registered only a few months. However the company named is one I have had no dealings with. Whilst searching through the internet last year researching cars I may have clicked into this companies but certainly not set up a password so the advice to change my password for the offending company is not relevant.

HAVEIBEENPAWNED is a great website. They're helping people for free and in a easy manner.

I have read alot of negative reviews here but these people can't even speak proper English and their complaints makes no sense. This website is recommended by CBT Nuggets. An old IT tutoring company thats been around for around 20 years now.

Der Support meldet sich nicht. Der Service ist teuer geworden. Die Pakete stellen Barrieren da. Schade, dass der Commerz das Gute an der Sache in den Schatten stellt. Ich meine, mal 60 Euro pro Jahr bezahlt zu haben. Jetzt das 4-fache mit Einschränkungen. Da bin ich raus - schade!

This website is super helpful with checking if your email or passwords have been exposed in any data breaches. I recommend everyone to check the site regularly. Best part: Everything you need is free.

Well the breach checker said I had no emails from the data breaches and it was 100% wrong. I have 15 emails and it was wrong for all of them

Most trusted source for breached passwords

I’m surprised HIBP doesn’t get more 5-stars : It provides an excellent service for free. I’ve been using it for years to monitor my own email and the ones from my family, it reminds them to change their passwords regularly (each time their email appears in a leak) and to develop good habits.

I made up several crazy test email addresses and it said they all have been compromised. And of course they suggest I get a strong password manager and they happen to have a good I can just click on. It's a site to sell product, not a real service for checking data breaches.

Completely useless as it doesnt tell you the websites that your email address/password was leaked from.

Works fine if a single site breach shows, but when it's a data leak with lots of different sites and data it wont tell you what website.

This is the case for multiple breach items, like the new one, but also the older collection ones.

The new breach seems to just be a collection of old breaches into a single file, but I cant say for sure as I cant see the domains associated to the email address or password.

This is one of the best places to freely check if you've been in a breach, and it's an easy place to check if an email you want to contact is legitimate by seeing if it has been involved in breaches, since almost 90% of the time, their email has been breached one way or another.

A fantastic service run by some great people. The service is top notch, at a very good price (both the free bits for individuals and paid bits for businesses). I’ve found their implementation and ethics (on a sensitive service/topic) to be transparent and very well thought through. They are very open/transparent too. The fact they work and are used by so many law enforcement agencies and governments is a testament to what they are doing.

I think the people leaving low stars don't understand what HIBP is for. There is nothing to complain about a free service helping guide you about breaches and protect from using weak passwords.
