I only used Hatchways for the first step of their application process, which was a take home project, so I can only review there. I did the front-end project and received feedback within a day. I was so surprised to see how detailed the feedback was, from suggesting I employ memoization in certain places (they gave examples) to linking resources about how I may avoid accidentally mutating React state. It's obvious they pay attention and read through your entire code, which I really appreciated. Keep in mind this was completely free.

From my experience, I'd guess that if you went through the rest of their program, they'd continue to provide high quality feedback and truly work on getting you starting experience for your career.

I found hatchways while directly applying with their partner employers. Before hatchways I had been applying/interviewing for 3 months with little success and no offers as a self taught developer with some freelance experience. It was hard to pinpoint exactly where I was going wrong.

I completed 2 assessments, the project interview and then the career accelerator with Hatchways. During the career accelerator Hatchways turned me from an amateur into a professional.

They provided a real work simulation and extensive feedback on me as a developer. I had a product and deadline to deliver with a team, stand ups, tickets, PRs, reviews, performance evaluations, and a demo. I learned the latest technologies and professional best practices. They will work with you until you are 'job ready', as long as you have the drive.

Once I completed the program, Hatchways set me up with a career team, resume and LinkedIn review, educational resources and most importantly, interviews with their partner employers. You can book mock interviews whenever you like and cater them to your upcoming interview style (Data Structures, Behavioural, System Design, JavaScript fundamentals, etc). In between mock interviews, you can ask questions about anything in your dedicated slack channel.

After completing the career accelerator, I started applying again and had an offer in 8 days (OFFER, not an interview) with an outside company, not related to Hatchways. I demoed the project from Hatchways and they were very impressed.

If you have the skill and the drive to complete their program, your background does not matter (I am a CS dropout). Hatchways took me from 0 offers to multiple offers in a matter of weeks.

Unfortunately not everyone is ready to be a professional developer; Hatchways does a good job of evaluating your current skillset and will only work with applicants who show the right skills and potential. If you need more practice before entering their program then Hatchways will let you know.

It’s all good. Although I wish it was better. The feedback I got from my assessment was okay, at the same time made me realize the areas I need to improve on. But I feel the expectations are set too high for an entry level. Some of the informations on the feedback seems like the job was actually meant for someone with about 2 years experience in the industry already.

The whole Hatchways interview process was great, I felt that it accurately simulated what it's like to actually work on the job because you have to communicate with other people and get feedback on your work. I also feel that you get a good breadth of experience with both frontend and backend tech which is helpful when preparing for interviews.

I started studying for my shift to software dev from physical product design around 11 months ago, started on my Hatchways work simulation 5 months ago, and started my first full-time job as a software dev last month. I'm from SE Asia so I think time to get a full-time may be faster for those in NA.

Hatchways work simulation system is very valuable in that you get the opportunity to work with a committed team. This is hard to come by if you're self-learning.

I got amazing code reviews that helped me learn better approaches to what I was working on. They also provide mid and post-project feedback with a 1-on-1 with your project lead and a structured rubric so you have ample time to work on areas for improvement.

I got to work both frontend and backend, which is better than what I intended which was to focus on backend. I got to work on sizable features that gave me talking points for my resume and interviews. We even used our team project for one stage of my interview.

Hatchways also provides many job search resources. Those I've used are web knowledge resources, interview tips, and resume and cover letter review.

Hatchways provides employers an evaluation of both coding skills and soft skills based on the work simulation. I landed my current job by being part of the roster from Hatchways that my employer reviewed and invited for interviews.

I had a family problem around the time of my job search after the work simulation and the Hatchways Team had been very warm and tried to help as much as they could. I truly appreciate how they went above and beyond providing a service which is already of great help as it is.

I'm very grateful for how my experience with Hatchways helped me land my first step into the software dev industry. Had I not signed up for Hatchways' program, I'd probably still be looking for a job for a long time or be settling for a job that I do not want. I'm happy to say that I'm loving the company that I'm with right now.

I participated in the Hatchways career accelerator program. Hatchways has been instrumental in helping me make the leap from student to junior developer. During the 4 week program, they provided detailed code review that went beyond anything else I've experienced while learning web development. Each individual at Hatchways has been professional, helpful, and communicative, and they seem to really work hard at delivering on their mission to provide tailored feedback and help developers get jobs. I found a job before completing the full 4 weeks, so do not have experience with their interview prep and job placement.

A well structured and understandable assessment. The personalized feedback given was informative for my own growth which I loved. I was really pleased with the service provided by Hatchways.

They started with an online assessment which I believe was a good quick assessment of a potential applicants skills.

Upon passing of the assessment, you move on to the second stage which involves a more real world like project assessment. Again I felt this was a very good way to assess a candidates skills and abilities. Throughout this assessment the team was very responsive and gave really good feedback which was very useful.

After successful completion of this stage the company shared my profile with potential companies and I regularly recieved interviews.

The team was very responsive with any questions I had and did their best to help me prepare for interviews.

This was a really positive experience overall and I highly recommend to new grads or people looking for entry level/junior jobs in software to give Hatchways a try.

I'm a full stack developer and I got accepted by hatchways in their COOP program when I applied for a job & I completed their frontend assessment. This COOP was really awesome because it gave me the opportunity to experience whatever you experience in a real work environment. I also had a chance to work in a team, in which Hatchway engineers were giving me great feedback on what I was delivering daily during this one month. The project I was involved was a full stack including React.js, Mongodb, Node.js & Socket.io (MERN stack). Every day I had a ticket to complete, & when I pushed my work to the git repo, an experienced engineer in the Hatchways team, reviewed it & gave me comments on it.

After I am done with the COOP, Hatchways started to introduce me to so many companies they are working with. They also helped me to prepare for interview & many of the Hatchways team members support me through this process. They reviewed my resume, LinkedIn & GitHub & gave me great comments to make them look better. I could find my first job by using this great program. They treated me really well
during COOP program& after that.

I definitely recommend trying it out specially for anyone who does not have work experience as this program can fill up your lack of experience.

I'm a self taught full stack developer and I found hatchways through a posting on LinkedIn. I had a choice to complete a full stack or front end project assessment. After completing the full stack assessment, I was invited to do a work simulation and had a great opportunity to prove my skills by working with engineers on the Hatchways team. I completed tickets and acted on feedback from detailed code reviews. I learned a ton through this process and I definitely thought it was an excellent way to showcase my skills and strengths compared to the traditional interview process.

I had the opportunity to interview with a wide range of companies because of the vetting that hatchways does, based on how well you did on the work simulation. I was given prep to review for interviews and had a lot of support of the team members who were assigned to me. When I was struggling, I had a chance to do a mock interview and got feedback and advice based on that. I also had the chance to ask questions and gather the thoughts of the team assigned to me as I went through my different interviews. Everyone one was super nice to me throughout. I ended up with two great offers even though I had no prior dev work experience!

They never sold me or asked me personally to pay for anything and would definitely recommend trying it out since there is little risk in doing so other than your time!

Hatchways is an excellent way to break into the software industry and get your first job.

You complete a one to two week "work simulation" where you will be asked to complete a variety of tasks ranging from simple to rather complex. After you've completed the work sim you will be graded and then Hatchways will start sending your application to all of their clients and the interviews will start rolling in almost immediately.

Seriously...anyone complaining about this company is missing the point. Hatchways connects entry level applicants who would most likely otherwise be overlooked, with companies looking for new employees.

Before completing the Hatchways program I landed one interview in nearly 6 months of applying. After the Hatchways program, I got three interviews in three weeks and didn't even need to go to the third because the second company hired me!

I will be eternally grateful for what Hatchways did for me!

Hatchways is a great place that helps you boost your skills . They will match you with employers and help you all the way through! I was a "fresh" immigrant with only 1 year experience at software engineering and I was struggling to find a job, employers simply did not respond to my applications. Hatchways helped me find my first job in the US!
