Harrow Swimming Club Anmeldelser 

4 years ago our daughter joined Harrow swimming club after a very unsatisfactory experience at another club. Understandably reticent she was met with kindness, enthusiasm, understanding and empathy from the coaches and other Harrow swimmers. The contrast was night and day and undoubtedly the nurturing environment has helped her improve every year since.

My daughter has been swimming in the Harrow swim squad for 2 years now and in that time has progressed from stroke development to regional squad. She loves swimming with Harrow having made some great friends and built good relationships with her coaches. The coaches are committed to developing the swimmers and always offer encouragement and support. The club itself is friendly and welcoming.

We moved my eldest son to Harrow Swimming Club for learn to swim lessons as he was not making progress in another swim school. It was the best decision. Within a year he had progressed through the stages and was invited to join the swim squad. He then went on to compete at county, regional and national level. He still swims at the club, as do my other 2 children. It’s a great club for learning to swim, competitive swimming, keeping active and making friends.

I’ve been attending the adults swim school for almost a year or two (had a break due to the leisure centre pool closure)

The beginners female class with Ann and Christine has been great and I’ve truly enjoyed my lessons. Being in the water with such motivated teachers left me relaxed and calm. I’ve now advance to the main pool, with a small group which is great as the instructor has time to view each of us and provide feedback.

With a hard of hearing disability and not being able to hear at all in the pool they have been understanding and kind by looking at ways to support me my whilst swimming. Zak has been tremendously supportive and I’ve enjoyed our chats before the class as my confidence of not hearing does get the worst of me. I would recommend them as a disabled friendly swim school.

Only downfall which is not of the swim school is the leisure centre itself. The female changing rooms always has a male cleaner in there during the evenings which makes things uncomfortable after I come out of the showers. The manager of the leisure centre says there is nothing he can do (and quoted there is no law against it) but it’s a horrid lingering feeling. The changing rooms for the females are old and broken yet the leisure centre refuses to fix it. (the male side is done up nicely thou) but again this is at the fault of the leisure centre and not the swim school. Just wanted female customers to be aware of this.

However given the leisure centre circumstances id recommend the swim school for adults to learn as you get a full hour in a small group (they have been very attentive to the ratio of students to teachers) Definitely worth the cost and time.

Great swimming school, lessons always start on time and the teachers are great. My kids have gone from being ok swimmers to AMAZING and confident swimmers. Booking on is quick and easy. We’ve been part of this swim school for around three years now and not looked back.

My son has been part of Harrow Swim Club for five years. He has consistently progressed through each stage within one or two terms, but he has been stuck at Stage 4 for the past three years, which is extremely frustrating.
Despite our efforts—including extra swimming lessons, crash courses during half terms, and regular video analysis—nothing seems to have helped. We are unsure whether the issue lies with our child’s ability to progress or if his teacher, Christine, is being unfair, as all other students appear to be advancing while he remains in the same stage. This situation feels deeply unjust.
We attempted to discuss our concerns with the manager, but instead of addressing the issue objectively, he was overly defensive of the staff and showed little regard for the student’s development. We believe this matter deserves fair attention and a proper review.

Our daughter has grown both physically and mentally thanks to this amazing sport. We are very grateful for all the support we have received in the past and continue to receive. Coach Callum is approachable and friendly, and our daughter is making great progress. Thank you very much!

Friendly inclusive club which has nurtured my child and helped her be successful in competition, having made good friends as well as continually improving her swimming times. Great value for money in terms of fees compared to other clubs / cost per hour.
