I had heard great things about you from…
I had heard great things about you from our cousins (used your services 2 weeks prior in Ecuador). Most of the experience was very good but there were a couple of items I think that could have been improved: 1. We booked a 'hotel' in Banos national park but was given a hostel. The hostel did not have hot water or A/C. We thought the proposed description provided by Happy Gringo did not meet the reality of the place booked. 2. We ended up really loving our guide but we were a little surprised that she was not completely fluent in English. We paid a premium for a private 3 day tour in English but found the communication to be slightly difficult. We think this limited how much she was able to explain about each location.

Booking my cruise for the Galapagos Islands was so much easier with Majo C at Happy Gringo Travel. She answered my questions promptly and cleary. Working with her took a lot of the stress out of the booking process. Highly recommend!

Perfect logical suggestion
I contacted many tour companies with last-minute travel requests, including traveling with an elderly person, an odd number of travelers, and limited funds. Jonathan was the only agent to reply, suggesting to 1st choose a cruise, then fill in the rest of the itinerary. This was a very logical suggestion! He provided his cruise suggestion, and his prices were better than what I could find online. The cruise is booked! We are now working to fill in the rest of the trip. Jonathan has been friendly, accommodating, and helpful, with a great price. What more could I ask for?

Maria was pleasant and efficient. She listened to what I wanted and promptly responded to calls and texts. My final itinerary was as or more organized and detailed than the ones I see in travel brochures. I would definitely recommend/use them again.

MaJo was a great travel agent who…
MaJo was a great travel agent who worked with me for 2 months to provide best options for my travel. She provided us with airport transfer in a clean Van and a very good driver. She also designed day trip options based on our interest. I have spoken to her multiple times and exchanged several messages to understand pricing, weather and a best travel solutions. I would recommend this travel company anytime for anyone coming for first time South America.

Very knowledgeable and responsive
Very knowledgeable and responsive. I loved how upfront she was regarding the different choices I was requesting and she politely guided me to what I feel is the right choice for the family. I really was thinking about including Isabela island to the itinerary and she gave me objective pros and cons to help make the decision, which was to skip it because of being very hectic in the busy tourist season

First trip to Ecuador
We worked with Maria to plan our first trip to Ecuador in 2027. She was prompt and thorough in answering our emails and questions and gave us great options to meet both our desired itinerary, budget, and focus on birds. Our trip will cover 16 days exploring Quito, Mindo, the Amazon, the Galapagos, and Termas de Papallacta. We received similar plans from two other companies, but she provided the best over-all package for our needs.
