Results look good; Very restrictive license restrictions
My Bottom Line: Performance looks good; I was frustrated by multiple antipiracy policies the company has: manual license activation; limited moving of licenses; 5 license TOTAL for the 10 EAs; install package which triggers Windows Defender virus w/ no way to download just the EA;
Knowing all that, I'd still buy the package, but I found it needlessly frustrating to setup from my customer perspective.
Details:
I bought these because the results reported look excellent. This is NOT a review of the algorithm performance-Happy Gold in particular looks worth the price. I may come back to report my experience there when I have more data.
However, I see a few problems with the way the customer experience is managed.
First, They are selling ten EAs, but only allow 5 accounts total -- Not 5 per EA, 5 total. that means you are not running one in each account, because you can't. This was not at all clear before purchase, though the vendor disputes this. Given this restriction, I see no public information on how the EAs interact with each other, so I would be very circumspect in running multiple EAs in the same account.
Second, they say you can only change the account number once. That seems quite needlessly restrictive. The vendor has their reasons. I think they are bad reasons.
For comparison, every other EA I've purchased allows unlimited account number changes and a more liberal number of licenses. (e.g. Valery Trading allows 10 accounts per ea., which you can change at any time; RFT offers 5, with immediate reassignment; Fx Automator is typically 1, with immediate online changes). This is also needlessly restrictive, IMO. (Again, they have their reasons).
I can't imagine what they are thinking with this set of restrictions and I hope it changes soon. (Edit: They said they have business reasons for doing so).
On download, I see that Windows Defender marks the download as a virus. Their answer was "Use another browser or turn off your antivirus". Of course switching browsers won't fix anything, but it seems unreasonable to have it fail a windows defender virus check. (I am not saying that this contains a virus, but that Windows flagged it as such)
To add, the thing flagged is an executable. They also don't provide just the EA -- it looks like you have to download the executable. This could be avoided by providing the EA. Again, they have their reasons.
Once I got the instructions, I see that it sounds like you can't restart the EAs over the weekend because it will interfere with the market Watch function. I always restart my system over the weekend and update as necessary. However you can't do that with any of these EAs, you will have problems/it won't work. (Edit: They argue that this is a system property they can't change. I can't speak to that, but I know of no other system with such restrictions).
Those seem like unnecessary restrictions to me.
In registering the account, typing in the number isn't automatic registration. They say they'll get back to me "in a few hours" (Sample size 2: 4-6 hours). They say they manually validate for security and integrity, which they insist is "very reasonable by industry standards". As I said above, I know of no other vendor that does this. To be clear, they need to decide how to balance protecting their software from piracy with ease of use for the customer. I think that in spite of their comments, that's not my experience, and I found it frustrating).
I also see that Market Watch (Ctl-M) must be shown, because it won't work properly without it. I've never seen that before, but they say there is nothing unusual here.
A couple of smaller annoyances: They used my PayPal email address to register my account, and although there's a site that asks for user name and password to log in, they didn't send a password (I'm assuming the user name is that email address, but it doesn't say that. (Edit: this was confusing, but I now see that as far as I can tell, there is no login for this package (10x EAs including Happy Gold). This means that the only record you have of what accounts are registered is the email they send you (which in my experience has been 4-6 hours, verses instantly for all other systems I've used.)
I bought this knowing the first and I hope working with the third, but I am shocked at the restrictions overall.
I'm shocked that these would get the performance that they show, with the restrictions/problems above.
On the Plus side, they were responsive in their emails, even on the weekends, and informative on outside topics (they sent me a good like to unregulated brokers).
Overall, I am expressing no doubts about the performance shown (I hope to come back to that in six months). I hope they adopt a reasonable licensing system and fix issues users should not have to consider. In spite of the problems or inconveniences.
