We spent 14 years mooring in H2O…
We spent 14 years mooring in H2O marina. It is an ideal location to keep a boat. Centrally situated in France at the center of 6 waterways, Paris, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, are 2 weeks cruise away, and the Med we once achieved in 7 days. They have 2 marinas, St Jean de Losne, and Port Royal in Auxone. I recommend Port Royal, spacious with clear water and views, but is remote from the workshops and lift out. St Jean de Losne is crowded, has limited parking, and has a problem with weed, but is adjacent to workshops and lift out. H2O mooring fees are very reasonable, and the staff are very willing and helpful. However, additional services are expensive, fortunately I did most of my own maintenance. Sadly, due to age and ill health I had to sell my boat. Having sold 2 previously owned boats in UK, I did not expect a problem selling though H2O. After all, it is the major boat broker in France, In hindsight, and If I had been physically able, we should have brought our boat back to UK to sell, or better still, taken to Holland where our boat was originally from. Yes I recommend mooring there. H2O have excellent facilities, but they have a monopoly, so beware of high bills if you entrust them with maintenance or sale of your boat.
