Our family flight
I booked a group (8 people including 2 little children) flight early in February for travelling in December. It was great, as the company offers paying the flight in instalment. Due to unforeseen financial commitment, 2 of the party had to pull out. The company was asked about it. They assured me that this should be ok and it would not incur any penalty. I was chuffed as travelling! Therefore I hurried and paid most of the fund. However, when I asked the agent of the when I will receive my tickets, this started to become vague. Telling me that it will be sorted soon, But what it transpired later on is that Air Mauritius has pull out the whole due, I expect because it was a group promotion. By this time it was June, every time the agent (who sound lovely and calm) kept telling me it will be sorted soon. This went on till beginning of September. By that time I was getting worried and very concerned. Unforeseen issues meant that the agent I was dealing with was away. One of his colleagues took over, realized that the direct flight booked did exist anymore. His manager had to take over to find us another flight with different airlines. We do have our tickets now. But we have to pay extra (which I didn't mind)/ travel and return at 2 different airports / not a direct flight/ We are all sad that we have to return on 31 December. Therefore, we don't get to spend New Year with my family as per original flight. I believe that the agent should have done his homework and speak to the original airline making sure that the whole cohort is not impacted, not just telling us that would be fine to change. Note we have been given a voucher of £200 to spend on a different travel in the future. Very kind of the company, however it is not helping toward this travel. I will conclude to say that the company is reachable on the phone and very calm and polite.

While Air Mauritius’s withdrawal was outside our control, we acknowledge that our communication should have been clearer and faster while we worked on alternatives. Our team did secure replacement flights to ensure your trip could still go ahead, and we regret that this meant changes to airports and dates.
We’re pleased you found our staff polite and reachable, but we also take seriously your disappointment about missing New Year’s with your family. Your feedback is being used internally to improve how we manage group bookings and airline changes.
The £200 travel voucher was offered as a gesture of goodwill, and we’d love the opportunity to welcome you again and restore your confidence in us.
