The Great Holiday Collection, were able to tailor make our holiday to Sri Lanka, providing our own guide and excellent hotels and yet still for a very competitive price. Everything went like clockwork from when we were collected from the airport to when we were dropped off.
We saw lots of the main sights in Sri Lanka and two different Wildlife Locations, finishing with a relaxing 4 nights at the beach.
Throughout the booking process and leading up to travel we were guided through what we needed to do. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again next time I travel to Asia.

We booked a trip to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia with David and what a trip. We had such an amazing time. The team at Great Holiday Collection helped us organise our dream honeymoon. We travelled across 4 countries; Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. They listened to what we were after and they had fantastic knowledge and made great suggestions based off whay they thought we may enjoy. Nothing however small was too much trouble. From the outset Great Holiday Collection were excellent in all they did. We met and discussed my wife’s and my desires for our long trip to IndoChina. Having considered those requirements the trip was a bespoke collation of all the sights, sounds and delights of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Having a personal guide and driver at every location was a treat and we could fine tune whatever wanted to do. So often a guide would say, “it’s your holiday” and fix whatever we wanted. The rhythm of the 24 days away was spot on. In parts fast and furious ((Hanoi!) then slower and more relaxed (Mekong Sampan trip). What a fantastic trip, very well organised and smoothly run throughout. Can’t rate these guys highly enough.

What can I say different to the other outstanding reviews this company receives. So throughly deserved.
We have just returned from a 3 centre Thailand trip. Everything expertly organised, advice & knowledge is spot on and gladly received. From hotels, private transfers, local guides & agents, all first class & no problem when you tweak the itinerary.
Even with the difficulties encountered trying to get us home, due to (war)nothing was too much trouble considering the time difference and all the changes to cancelled flights etc.
Always felt David was working hard to get us home. Which he did 👏👏👏👏
Which was no mean feat when we were coming back to Scotland and for my sister & husband, he had to get them home to a Spain!

Our tailor-made trip to Vietnam and Cambodia was well planned and ran smoothly. We had a private guide and driver in each place, which made everything easy.

The hotels were great and in good locations. The price was competitive compared to bigger tour companies and the experience felt much more personal.

We have just returned from a 23 day trip north to south Vietnam with 4 days in Cambodia.
Before we departed they provided great guidance and advice on our itinerary with things to add and look out for along with tours/guides appropriate for each destination.
The trip itself was wonderful with the process managed perfectly from start to finish. The local reps/guides were knowledgable and insightful and provided great recommendations for our free time.
When we travel to that part of the world again we will certainly use them again.

From Day 1 discovering this lovely company and having a conversation with David I knew we would have just the perfect holiday we wanted. Wanting to stay in small hotels which are always personal, David came up trumps. We had a driver/guide with us for the 2 weeks who again was excellent and went over and above. The scenery of Sri Lanka was stunning and all the sights we visited. The people are so happy to see you and always smiling and happy. And to cap is all we did get stranded due to the war, but being in boutique hotel on the beach we just enjoyed ourselves and again David came up trumps with constantly updating us and finally getting us home - (I wanted to stay…) So thank you David for an unforgettable holiday in a beautiful country.

We had a look at lots of pre-planned tours of Sri Lanka and none quite suited us, so we devised our own itinerary with a private driver and then contacted The Great Holiday Collection to organise and book it for us. I am so glad we did. They were very flexible in adapting usual routes to include our requests and put thought into where we stayed. Horathapola was the perfect place to recover from jet lag - a luxurious estate surrounded by spice gardens and coconut groves. Dickoya bungalows tea plantation was the ideal place to recover after a night climb of Adam's Peak, taking afternoon tea on the lawn and watching red woodpeckers. We were grateful that they booked a guide for the climb as it meant we got the best view of the famous sunrise.

They work with a local company who provided a superb driver guide - knowledgable, polite, reliable, who really added to the whole experience.

From game drives, close up to baby elephants, fish eagles, dancing peacocks and monitor lizards to picking tea leaves, getting a glimpse of the tooth casket at a drumming and incense-fuelled puja ceremony in Kandy - the whole trip surpassed our expectations.

Finally - we were in Sri Lanka when the middle East war broke out and all planes were cancelled. We understood that many tour companies reneged on their legal duty to support clients getting home. TGHC did the opposite, working unsociable hours to help us rebook flights, ensuring our driver took us to emergency accommodation and collected us a week later when it was finally safe to fly.

All this for a similar cost to a rushed big group tour with other firms. 100% professional and trustworthy. Highly recommended.

My wife and i have just returned from a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, its easy to write a review, forget big companies where your a number, this was was organised to perfection .I could have set my watch by the timings etc that was organised by David. As the saying goes we got exactly what it said on the tin. Thank you

My husband and I are not hugely experienced travellers and 2 weeks in Vietnam was slightly out of our comfort zone. I came across David of The Great Holiday Collection having looked at other companies both recommended and online. He listened and adapted his original itinerary as far as possible to suit our requirements and once we got there, the guides did too. The hotels were also very good. On our return from what was a successful trip, I fed back how we might tweak a few things; in particular a bit more of a 'lack of sleep' warning for the overnight train journey and if possible avoid 2 consecutive days our from HMC by incorporating trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta in some other way; again I felt I was listened too.

We have just returned from a 24 day holiday in North Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia arranged by David Pye of Great Holiday Collection. David listened to our suggestions/requirements etc before we booked and interpreted excellently what would suit us. The team made sure everything about our trip was well thought through, tailored to our needs and organised exceptionally. We have just returned from an amazing 14 day holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia. The Great Holiday Collection used their extensive local knowledge and experience to tailor our itinerary to meet our specific requirements. From our arrival in Hanoi, through central Vietnam to Ho Chi Minh City and on to Siem Reap and Phnom Penh in Cambodia we looked after by first class local guides and drivers. Each guide/driver met us at the airport, shared their local knowledge each day on our trips and they ensured we got to the airport in good time for our next flight . Every hotel was excellent with all of them each providing first class, professional and friendly service. We would absolutely recommend TGHC without hesitation and we would be very happy to use them again should we decide to travel to Asia in the future.

We have just returned from a fantastic trip to Vietnam organised for us by TGHC. We wanted specifically to see nature, and the trip totally delivered on this. Starting in the rice fields in the North and moving down to the National Park in the South, we were taken seamlessly from plane to car to boat to hike to beach without any effort required by us, and with just the right amount of rest days included along the way. No question was too much trouble before we left and the guides were so helpful and knowledgeable once we arrived. We thoroughly recommend TGHC to anyone wanting a hassle free adventure of a lifetime.

As a family we have travelled to many countries and this was a VERY well organised trip arranged specifically for us. Our ages ranged from 8-76 years old. Excellent hotels; guides and local experience suggestions of interest to all ages. Very responsive throughout - and they even held off the rain for us despite it being the rainy season

(And don't mention it to them but great value for money!)

We have just returned from a 19 day private tour to Cambodia and Vietnam. David put an exceptional tour together, during the planning process, we corresponded via email and he also took the time to call us, to make sure we were getting everything we wanted. everything was very organised, we were looked after from start to finish. The information we received, before starting our holiday, was comprehensive and also included information on visas, currency and tipping, which was very useful.
We misplaced our travel documents and David emailed a copy to us within an hour, excellent customer service!
Our guides were very friendly and very knowledgeable and the range of hotels were very good. This was our first visit to Cambodia and Vietnam but we will return and I will have no hesitation in booking with The Great Holiday Collection again.
