This is very fresh (arrived frozen solid) and is very high quality. A relief to be able to get, as the brand so many of us bought at our local supermarket has been discontinued.

After years of requests, US Wellness Meats finally found a source of quality, rendered Duck Fat! Duck Fat is fabulous for cooking. Include Duck fat as a kitchen staple item and find out why French chefs use it religiously.
Duck fat is an excellent cooking fat for high heat applications as it has a high smoke point. Its subtle flavor and smooth texture makes it appealing for a variety of cooking methods including: frying, baking, roasting, searing, stir fry, or even salad dressing. Use duck fat for roasting root vegetables or frying potatoes, and try some duck fat pop corn for a tasty treat!
Not only does duck fat make any kitchen creation taste better, but it's ratio of approximately 51% monounsaturated fat, with 36% saturated fat and 14% polyunsaturated fat helps make it stable during cooking. The healthy balance of fats along with it's suitability for high heat cooking makes it ideal for any kitchen. Along with butter, Duck Fat is one of the most frequently used cooking fats in France where gourmet cuisine is a form of art. The French also enjoy a much lower rate of heart disease than the U.S. whose most common cooking fat is vegetable oil.

All of US Wellness Meats’ Pekin Ducks are free range and free of growth hormones and antibiotics. US Wellness Meats is unfortunately currently unable to source Duck Fat from Pekin Ducks that consume a non-GMO diet.

The reason why I gave this product only one star is because I got pork leaf fat instead of duck fat (which I cannot eat for religious reasons).

I was very pleased to see this product. On various cooking shows I have seen Rendered Duck Fat used. So I jumped on the chance to grab it. I use this in place of butter whenever possible because of the flavor profile.

I discovered duck fat about 3 years ago. I use it for so many things, ie. cookies, brownies, popcorn, that I get a bit nervous when I start running low. What a fabulous richness it gives to baking! I have purchased two other online grocery brands, but neither compares to Wellness.

Duck Yolk Soup I take 6 duck egg yolks(twice as nutritionally dense) and place in a bowl on very low heat. I take a Tablespoon of Duck Fat and a Tablespoon of Dr. Gundry's Olive Oil and gently warm up on the stove. As soon as the fat is heated add it to the warming egg yolks with a pinch of Redmond Real Salt and whisk them into a smooth texture. Sprinkle a Tablespoon of Salmon Roe on top. Warm super yummy comfort food, medicinally dense and nutritionally potent !
