xtended Warranty That Failed When It Mattered Most
If GoWarranty were genuinely committed to honouring its service commitments, the focus would be on resolving pending cases rather than questioning the identity of a customer who has been corresponding with the company for months.
For the benefit of prospective customers, I am providing the relevant details below:
1. Television – Service Request: SR003112 (also referenced earlier as SR000835)
Policy: GW_05EC0C878ABD
Your published Service Assurance promises repair within the stipulated timeline, failing which a replacement device or equivalent compensation is to be provided.
My television service request has now remained unresolved for more than eight months. During this period, no technician successfully attended the site to inspect or repair the television. Neither repair, replacement, nor compensation has been provided. Your own Service Assurance has therefore not been honoured.
2. Refrigerator – Service Requests: SR003463 & SR003768
Policy: GW_62F72AB21233
You have recently taken the position that service cannot be provided because the appliance was allegedly shifted from the registered address.
I have repeatedly requested that you identify the specific policy clause requiring prior approval for an address change and explain why this issue was raised only after prolonged delays and repeated follow-ups. Those questions remain unanswered.
3. Air Conditioner – Service Request: SR002975
Policy: PN_37A29436A2EE
My complaint has never been about the existence of policy exclusions.
It is about the manner in which the policy was sold. Before purchasing the warranty, I fully disclosed that the AC was over four years old and specifically asked whether an inspection was required. I was informed that photographs would suffice, the policy was issued, and the premium accepted. The claim was later denied based on the condition of the appliance. My emails documenting these facts have been with GoWarranty from the beginning.
For anyone wishing to understand the complete chronology, including emails, timelines, policy documents, and service history, I have documented the entire experience on my independent blog.
Search Google for:GoWarranty Reality Check Blogger or GoWarranty Reality Check Blogspot
where the complete chronology is available for readers to review and draw their own conclusions.
I purchased multiple extended warranty plans from GoWarranty for my household appliances, believing the company's service assurances and expecting peace of mind when I needed support. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.
The real test of any warranty company is not when it sells the policy, but when a customer raises a claim. That is where my experience has been extremely disappointing.
My TV service request remained unresolved for over 130 days, during which not a single technician visited despite repeated assurances. GoWarranty's published Service Assurance speaks of repair, replacement, or compensation within defined timelines, but none of these were provided in my case.
For my air conditioner, the warranty was sold after I had fully disclosed that the unit was over four years old. I specifically asked whether an inspection was required and was informed that photographs would suffice. When I later raised a claim, it was denied based on the condition of the appliance.
My refrigerator service requests were also marked by repeated delays, poor coordination, and changing explanations instead of timely service.
Based on my personal experience, I would advise prospective customers to carefully evaluate whether the advertised service commitments align with the actual support they may receive when they need to make a claim.
