Do not use this company.
I booked flights. Later the airline told me the flights were cancelled three weeks before. The company never contacted me.
I tried to get a refund through their live chat. It was an automated system and English isn't their native. It took many messages over one week. It was very frustrating.
I am glad I paid with PayPal, because now I can use PayPal’s support.
Finally I got an email saying I would get a refund. But the amount in the email was different from the amount I should get. So I had to chat with the AI system again. More time wasted.
I decided to open a case with PayPal.
Avoid Booking.com and Gotogate.
Many other reviews say this company is a scam. I only found out after booking that it is not ATOL protected.
Im still waiting a month later for my refund!

Comprei 4 passagens de Ushuaia para El calafate. O voo foi cancelado e pedi o reembolso. A companhia aérea fez o reembolso para Gotogate e estou aguardando a quase um mês que depositem na minha conta. O telefone de contato no site não atende. O aplicativo vc pode falar pelo chat e os atendentes todas as vezes mentem. Dizem que foi processado, que devo aguardar mais 5, mais 10 dias e já se passou um mês e o reembolso não foi depositado. A mentira dos atendentes é tanta, que chegaram a me informar uma id de transferência bancária e disseram para confirmar com meu banco… a id não existia.

The worst company ever.

My flight was canceled by the airline, and I was told to contact the travel agency to rebook my flight. However, the agent informed me that they were unable to rebook because their system did not allow it, and they told me to contact the airline directly since they were the ones who canceled the flight.

When I contacted the airline, they told me that it was the travel agency’s responsibility and that they should assist me with the rebooking.

I am now stuck—I cannot rebook my flight, nor can I get a refund. I do not recommend this company at all. Their customer service is terrible, and this has been an extremely frustrating experience.

Cancel all purchases that are made and it takes time to return the amount!

1- O valor apresentado no momento de pagar foi maior que o apresentado durante todo preenchimento para compra da passagem.

2- O nome da passagem esta MARIA SIMOES GUIMARAES DE MACEDO, no preenchimento solicitando igual ao passaporte digitei MARIA DAS GRAÇA nome e sobre nome SIMOES GUIMARAES MACEDO, tenho receio de problemas no momento do visto pela Polici
a Federal.

Estou preocupada por não receber as passagens nem o localizador. Pagamento foi aprovado e já recebi o recibo da compra.

Realizei a compra das passagens e durante o processo de compra trocaram o valor cobrado, aumentando absurdamente sem aviso prévio.

I purchased a multi-flight itinerary through GoToGate (Booking Ref: 1084-267-093) for travel on 5 October 2025 from Budapest → London Gatwick on Wizz Air W62221, then onward to Orlando on Norse Atlantic Airways.

Before traveling, I received GoToGate’s standard emails reminding me to ensure I had all required documents. I did exactly that: I checked the official UK government website and confirmed that, as a U.S. Green Card holder with an onward flight within 24 hours, I did not need a transit visa. I have taken this same route several times before without any issue.

Despite having all legally required documents, I was wrongfully denied boarding at Budapest Airport because airline staff misunderstood UK transit rules. This caused me to miss my long-haul connection and forced me to purchase a last-minute replacement ticket costing HUF 404,000 (~$1,200).

As the travel agency that issued and sold my ticket, I expected GoToGate to assist in resolving or escalating the matter. Instead:

They requested consent to process my data, then provided no meaningful follow-up

They sent a generic message stating they “are not responsible”

They insisted the matter must be handled by the airline

They offered no guidance, no support, and no mediation whatsoever

They ignored their obligations under EU consumer protection rules for travel agents

Today, GoToGate replied to my earlier review with a copy-and-paste message about checking spam folders for travel documents — a reply that has absolutely nothing to do with my actual situation.

The issue was never about missing travel documents.
The issue was that I had all required documents, was legally allowed to transit the UK, and was wrongfully denied boarding due to airline error — and GoToGate refuses to play any role in assisting the customer in a case where the purchased service could not be used.

Their reply attempts to reframe the situation to avoid acknowledging the real problem, which is extremely disappointing and misleading to any customers reading these reviews.

GoToGate must stop deflecting responsibility and start supporting customers in situations where airlines make mistakes that directly affect the tickets they sell.

My experience was easy and the process was quick.

My flight was canceled, the gotogate app warned me about it. And then nothing. Attempts to get a refund was hopeless. No information, no refund.
