Disapointing communication and end product.

Overall, the item we have does not meet our expectations. We had intermitent comnunication and delays. They ill give a refund if necessary and try to offer some resolution but fall short with repeated issues and by saying they will rectify and 'deliver to your satisfaction' and don't.

They claim:
"We carefully inspect each item on arrival - we take time to repair any faults and then spray the pieces in the approved paints so that they look as stunning as they should".

I don't feel the quality of these products is what they claim. We were told minor cosmetic damage but the doors have had to be re hung and are not quite right as they are catching, (to be fair they did offer to let us cancel at this point) but it also seems almost the entire wardrobe has been repainted, some parts twice and it still has scratches so is not looking "as stunning as it should". I would more acurately describe this as 'unusable furniture tried to make sellable, still over priced' in my opinion.

We were sold an item listed as ready in 2 weeks. We ordered 1st April, finally had all the pieces 20th May.

They didn't let us know about the original delay of their own accord, after 3 weeks, we had to message for an update. Some messages were responded to. Some weren't. We had to prompt for an update or to get what they promised sometimes multiple times.

"Carefully inspect"
They found an issue late, it happens but in hindsight probably the first clue that maybe careful inspection is not the case. After a delay, they offered to put this right but delivered a wardrobe and took back 2 doors and a drawer with significant marks and a piece that wasn't even part of our wardrobe.

"Repair any faults" Came again and one door still had the same scratches (they haven't replied to that email), missing screws and took back a door handle that still wasn't correct.

Such a shame as I believe in the concept but we just had too many issues and there were too many opportunities to put right but we were still left frustrated. Ultimately they are offering something as good as new and that is not what we have.

I would not buy from here again.

Edit: They claimed I did not send pictures (which they did not ask for) but in fact I did. You can see a screenshot on my google review. They just ignored it. I did also ask for adjustments to the hinges but was told it was not possible.
Yes we got a partial refund and they delivered and assembled a below par product with remaining scratches and doors that are misaligned and catch.
Avoid.

Thank you for your further feedback Christina. We are genuinely sorry that you remain unhappy with the outcome of your order.
We would however like to clarify a number of points regarding the process and the resolutions offered throughout. The Grand Triple Wardrobe purchased had an original RRP of £1,900 and was purchased for £1,299, with collection/delivery initially arranged by the customer. During our final quality assurance checks, we identified a fault prior to dispatch and, although the wardrobe remained fully functional, we did not feel it met the standard we wanted to supply. At that point we offered either a full refund or, alternatively, free delivery and installation at our own expense, together with a 10% goodwill refund. This option was accepted.
During installation, further paint defects became apparent on three pieces. Rather than leave these unresolved, the affected items were removed for repair and we returned on an agreed date to complete the installation. Due to the inconvenience caused, we also issued a further 10% refund on the original purchase price.
We acknowledge that communication during the process could have been better and appreciate that the delays and multiple visits were frustrating. However, throughout the order we consistently attempted to resolve concerns raised, including offering cancellation, arranging delivery and assembly at no charge, carrying out repairs, sourcing replacement parts and providing a combined 20% refund.
With regard to the later concerns raised, we understand screenshots were added to the Google review following our original response and we apologise if there was any misunderstanding regarding the photographs previously referenced. We also understand that hinge adjustments were discussed at the time. As with any large wardrobe installation, some minor adjustment can occasionally be required depending on flooring and positioning within the home, however we are sorry that the final result did not meet your expectations.
Whilst we fully respect your opinion, we do not accept the description of the furniture as “unusable”. The wardrobe supplied was assembled and functional, and significant efforts were made throughout to rectify the issues raised and reach a satisfactory resolution. However, if you genuinely feel the wardrobe is unusable and unsuitable for your needs, you are very welcome to return it to us for a full refund.
We are genuinely sorry that despite these efforts you were left disappointed

Great company to buy from wonderful…

Great company to buy from wonderful piece of furniture. Only downside is the delivery costs from the outside company they are very high though the delivery was great it was a bit gutting bc added up esp when I’d saved money on such a beautiful item xx Saying that would buy from this lovely company again.

At the time this review was posted, we were already in direct email communication with you regarding the issue and have since arranged for a replacement chest of drawers to be sent, along with collection of the damaged item.
We completely understand your frustration on receiving furniture that was not in the condition expected, and we apologise for this. Please be assured this is not the standard we aim for.
In regard to the delivery timeframe, the delay was unfortunately linked to our previous delivery booking system, which required customers to select their delivery slot before dispatch could proceed. We appreciate this process was not as clear or convenient as it should have been, and this system has since been improved.
We hope the replacement resolves the matter for you and thank you for your patience whilst we worked to put things right.

Don’t bother

I saw a lovely Cotswold bookcase on their website at a reduced price. I rang to enquire and was told it was a damage repair item and was given details about the necessary repairs, I was told a video showing the repairs before despatch would be sent and a delivery time of 2 weeks was promised.
I rang them after 3 weeks, was informed it would be ready tomorrow, the man on the phone didn’t seem to know they sent videos but promised me one anyway.
Another week later, still no video, I received an email telling me the bookcase was now ready and to arrange courier collection.
I arranged their recommended courier and booked him to deliver the following week. On the day of delivery, as time was getting on and I had heard nothing. No time slot as promised, I rang the courier, he said he would get back to me and after an hour he informed me by text that the bookcase was not ready.
I rang GL Things few times but to no avail so I left a voicemail asking for an explanation. I received no reply and after having left 3 messages they answered and I was told they had to get the woodwork specialist to refit the door as it was misaligned. I was initially told the bookcase had a small defect on the top that would be hidden when the shelving unit was added and the other damage was on the foot, nothing whatsoever to do with doors.
I rang to cancel the order the next day as I had lost all confidence that I would be getting the promised item, was fed up with being fobbed off and really annoyed that the customer service was practically non existent. Again I had to leave a voicemail as they never answer the phone.
Later that day they sent me a text (and a video!) to say the bookcase was ready but I had already cancelled the order, they just don’t listen to their messages.
We were very disappointed with the whole experience and genuinely wanted to support a local business.
After cancelling, I decided to order and pay full price for the same bookcase from the actual Cotswold company. Unbelievably I received the bookcase from them in 3 days.

Thank you for your review. We are genuinely sorry to hear how frustrating your experience was, as this is not the level of service we aim to provide at Gorgeous Little Things for Home Ltd.

You are correct that this was a repaired piece and we did outline the original areas of damage at the point of enquiry.

However, during final preparation before dispatch, we identified an additional issue with a misaligned door.

As part of our standards, we would never send out a piece we are not completely happy with, so we made the decision to delay dispatch briefly in order for this to be corrected.

Unfortunately, this is where communication fell short. We advised the independent courier that the item would not be ready for collection for a further 24 hours, however we understand that this update was not passed on to you, and we did not follow up as we should have. We also acknowledge that we did not return your calls in a timely manner, and for that we sincerely apologise.

With regard to the video, this is not part of our standard process for repaired items and required the piece to be unpacked and reassembled after it had already been prepared for dispatch, which contributed to the delay. That said, we understand that once promised, it should have been delivered more promptly.

We completely understand why you chose to cancel your order, and your refund was processed in full as soon as we received your request.

We have taken your feedback on board and have already implemented improvements within the team, particularly around communication and response times, to ensure this does not happen again.

We are truly sorry that this experience did not reflect the service we strive to provide, especially as you were keen to support a local business.

Fabulous experience. I have previously bought a dinning table, a large desk -and a clock from Gorgeous little things. This time I bought a rug. Reliable, friendly and fantastic stock .

Perfect!

I am so, so happy with my purchase. Its perfect! We live a long way away but it was easy to arrange delivery with Kirsty's recommended driver. I will definitely buy more in the future.

Beautiful furniture at an affordable…

Beautiful furniture at an affordable price plus Kirsty provides excellent after sales service. The courier service they recommend is brilliant, the guy is friendly, polite and punctual.
Altogether an excellent company who I can’t praise highly enough, would certainly use again.

Items as described and good savings from original price too. A few small marks on the mattress but otherwise no issues. Delivery was good, Richard did a great job. Very positive experience
