Jonathan and Cheryl were excellent from start to finish on our large project to bring our Georgian house into the 21st Century, whilst still retaining the heritage and history of such an old building.
They guided and helped us through planning with the National parks, to reach a suitable outcome for all parties.
They have worked with us over several years on various projects, we would certainly recommend Ginger and Wood for all your planning and project needs.

Jonathan & Cheryl at Ginger & Wood Architectural came highly recommended from some very experienced and 'long-served' contacts of ours in the architectural sector.
Our project involved a complex Listed Building Refurbishment (semi-derelict Farmhouse and attached Barn) and whilst the initial Planning Permission had been achieved, the scheme required a detailed Building Regulations submission, so Jonathan & Cheryl were appointed to prepare and submit that element to Building Control.
We only had ‘hand-drawn’ planning application drawings, which were beautiful to look at and ideal for the planning stages, but not ideal for the builders carrying out the refurbishment, so Jonathan re-drew the planning drawings at larger scale, then supplemented these with new plans & sections and added the required Building Regulation notes and detailing with impeccable clarity so that they were exactly what our builder needed.
Thereafter the project developed some issues relating to the existing fabric of the building, which in order to resolve required a revised Listed Building Consent to be re-designed and submitted, so we commissioned the services of Jonathan to add the missing details and prepare some additional plan drawings and sections, then Cheryl prepared the necessary Design & Access statement to add to a Method Statement created by Jonathan, and also pulled together the revised Heritage Statements, Structural Design & Reports, and location plans, and then without further ado they submitted the revised Planning application with minimal input from ourselves, which was a ‘Godsend’. And all completed in an almost ‘fast-track’ manner, which from previous experience of other like professionals, we didn’t expect, but certainly welcomed.
Overall the service provided by Ginger & Wood was nothing short of superb, and all from start to finish with a cheerful friendly approach… when we started this project I personally envisaged a huge pile of workload and stress to get these applications across the line, but Jonathan and Cheryl have taken a lot of weight off my shoulders and made the whole process look easy and ‘hassle-free’, and I can’t thank them enough.
I have no reservations about recommending Ginger & Wood Architectural for all you Planning & Building Control needs and I look forward to their continued input whilst we deliver this high-quality and complex Listed Building refurbishment.

Design and attention to detail on our Q Plan build (converting an agricultural building into a domestic dwelling) was outstanding. The end product is almost finished and we are completely happy with it.
