From start to finish, we enjoyed an exemplary and attentive service from Nick and the team in the Taunton office. Nick, Michelle, Beth, Sally, Jennifer, Bronte, Gemma, Patrick and Rufus all played a part in delivering a professional and incredibly speedy service. They sent our property live on 9th October and we handed over keys on 19th December, just 10 weeks and that's also dealing with international sellers, causing a minimum 24hrs turn around in all communications! An absolutely outstanding service! Thanks to you all and I hope I didn't miss anyone out of my roll call?

If I could rate this less I would. My review is specifically based on WELLINGTON Gibbons Richard’s. Easily the worst company I’ve ever encountered. My house is off market now, because of this company. I feel it’s important to share my experience with Gibbons Richards, as I’ve been left extremely disappointed with the level of service received.

Despite communicating/working with a professional estate agent, the company frequently failed to provide adequate staffing — to the point where I was contacted on the morning of viewings and asked to show potential buyers around the property myself.

On the occasions when representatives did attend, they arrived wearing Stone Island clothing, which I do not consider appropriate or professional attire for client-facing work. Additionally, I repeatedly found doors left unlocked and lights left on after their visits, an issue I raised multiple times with no improvement.

Now, to add insult to injury, I am being threatened with court action over a fee, despite the clear lack of professionalism and service I experienced.

They are now holding our key to our house, until we have paid an invoice we have never received. They are unable to prove we ever received this invoice. The stress this company have put us under in the past 12 months is horrendous and put me off ever selling our house.

Poor from the start. Spelling mistakes on our house listing. Didn’t have the staff to fulfil house viewings so requested we take our own viewing. Unprofessional clothing choices by staff when they did attend house viewings.

This estate agent has a bad reputation and they were not upfront with costs. We spoke to several agents in Bridgwater and the moment Gibbins came up, one literally shrieked and said they hear the same complaints all the time. Basically, they’re scamming people. Every other agent we spoke to said the same thing. It doesn’t take long for a bad reputation to spread. I’m now looking at other houses, but I wouldn’t touch anything listed with this lot.

Warning stay away. We didn’t get any viewings on our bungalow, and wanted to try another agent, but they threatened us. Bill us for leaving, or put their commission up with a 2nd agent more with multi agent. Blackmailed and pressured, they totally had no care for their clients, just the money. We also was told on good authority by our mate, that knows staff there, they slag off clients all the times. All about £ signs. Word spreads and other agents in town say they hear that a lot about them and told us to read the reviews. Do not go there.

Poor estate agents. Came to give a valuation. But valued it on other similar houses sold in the area . Come on anyone can do that . The house has been completely renovated. Yet the house they showed us in nether stowey needed complete renovation. And the agent had no clue . Couldn’t answer questions. Totally useless.

Renting property with damp problems. I had to move out because of ill health caused by it. They kept my deposit. They put my rent up £150 in 4 years but never fixed the damp caused by water leaking behind cupboards. Their staff are horrible, self righteous money hungry people. Keep well way from this greedy company.

Very amateur company only interested in the fees. They came out to me for a joint sale with another agent and after signing the contract the manager didn't even take any measurements, photographs or sketch a floor plan. Instead he took the details from the other agent/historical listing. He did take one very bad photograph with a drone which wasn't necessary (I live in a cheap starter home rather than a property with a picturesque view/large amount of land etc). This is a very competitive market and there are a lot better alternatives. AVOID

Brilliant, professional support.
A process which should have been straightforward was complicated by the inept and obstructive behaviours of the letting agents of a different company.
Nick very patiently and expertly navigated the problems they had created and was able to bring the sale to a satisfactory conclusion. Thank you Nick and the team at Gibbons Richards.

I sold my house in May 2024 and at no stage since has there been any communication or work to progress and monitor my sale. My buyer withdrew over a month ago but I was only notified of this yesterday. No apology for the delay or for failing to notify. A shocking service which has resulted in unnecessary expense.

I arranged a viewing and was assured by Gibbons Richards that there were no offers received on this property (as it was being sold via two estate agents) so I booked a viewing only to then find out that the property had actually sold via the other estate agents and I was not informed of this. The lack of communication from them was a concern. How can you not know that the property for sale on your website has been sold?? It’s a good job I checked and didn’t waste my time going to view the property.

I'd say they sell 'properties' rather than 'homes'. Gave a valuation from online info -but refused point blank to visit the property to confirm this when asked. I was looking for a cooperative and communicative agent, so clearly they didn't have the correct attitude.
Fortunately there are other agents in the area who have been more helpful.

Charlie was a fantastic sales negotiator. He went over and above anything we might have expected in reassuring us during the purchase. He was fun to converse with and efficient in providing the necessary information. Donna was also utterly supportive. We would definitely be pleased to use Gibbins Richards again and recommend them to friends.

The Bridgwater office are so wonderful, Genuine amazing professional people who care about all their clients, their adverts and videos are amazing and really do stand out from the crowd on portals, sold my home within 24 hours and worked hard throughout to keep the chain on track. Shout out to Ben, Tom, Nicola and Ella, you are amazing, keep it up

Horrific experience renting a property through the Taunton branch. Subsequently reported to the property ombudsman and they are pursuing investigation. Having brought a property through another agent with nothing but professionalism and common sense it highlighted just how Poor Gibbins really are. Absolute shambles
