Admin staff was helpful to give adequate information which enabled me with course of choice. Also my virtual teacher was amazing,it just felt like i was in a physical classroom and he patiently carried everyone along. Great experience overall

The actual content and delivery of the…
The actual content and delivery of the course gets 5 stars. It was better from a previous course I’d had in the hospital. However the course was let down by the person leading the course who unfortunately left myself and others feeling undermined. Myself and my colleague are RGNs and we attended the course in this capacity. There weee various other people, some without any clinical background. At the start of the course on day 1, we were told to think of ourselves as phlebotomist. I had no issues with this. However on day 2,, around the topic of consent, the trainer asked a question in regards to what we should do if a patient refuses. Multiple people attempted to answer the question in which the trainer stated “I’ve never known a group not get this” but the day before he told us he had done well over 600 courses! We felt very belittled and patronised and when the answer was given to us it was not relevant to our setting. I.e fetch a nurse… we are nurses!!! But it was cascaded to us in a demoralising tone that “I told you to think like phlebotomists” disappointed.

We work hard to ensure that our delegates receive comprehensive theoretical knowledge alongside practical skills so it is encouraging to receive such positive comments about the course itself.
We are sorry to hear that aspects of the training experience left you feeling undermined. Our Introduction to Phlebotomy course welcomes delegates from a wide variety of backgrounds, for this reason, trainers will often encourage delegates to approach certain scenarios form the perspective of a phlebotomist performing a defined role, rather than from their wider professional scope of practice.
That said, we recognise that delegates bring valuable existing knowledge and experience to the classroom and it is certainly not our intention for anyone to feel that their professional background is being dismissed. Creating a positive and supportive learning environment is extremely important to us and we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

Introduction to venipuncture
I found the course useful. There was lots of course content and plenty of resources provided to ensure you had the knowledge prior to the practical session. I felt this aspect of the course was good. However, i do feel the course would benefit from tailoring to individuals academic abilities / professions. For example, providing a course for qualified and non qualified staff so it could be delivered in relation to there area of work and pre existing knowledge from there profession. Unfortunately, on occasions, I found the trainer to be patronising and I didn’t appreciate the way they spoke to individuals at durations throughout the course. On one occassion, I was felt belittled by a comment from the trainer when my answer was appropriate to my role of a registered nurse, but they stated I had to remember I was a “phlebotomist”. An introduction was completed at the start of the training so the trainer was aware of their captive audience, therefore dismissing our role as a nurse was disrespectful. As side from that, I found the course beneficial as a refresher of venipuncture and can implement it into practice.

I’m not happy at all with your service.You booked me on the days you are closed to attend at a centre you don’t operate. All communication to you is not working,all phones not going through Only answer phone or voice mail No one to help I have driven a long way to go to that address given in the confirmation email yet it was closed.From nearby by offices I have heard that it has been happening a lot You need to tell me exactly what is going on here. I expect to be contacted concerning this Today I am supposed to attend a classroom event Where do I go because no one got in touch with me yet. It’s all day wasted

We are a little confused by your review, as the Milton Keynes course you were booked onto did go ahead as scheduled at the planned training venue. The venue address and attendance times are included within the booking confirmation email, with the venue details highlighted in bold red text at the bottom of the email, and they are also listed on our website.
I suspect that there may have been some confusion between our head office address and the training venue location. Unfortunately, our admin office is closed over the weekend, which is why you would not have been able to reach the team by phone at that time.

Excellent Experience
I recently completed my phlebotomy course and would highly recommend it. Martin was excellent throughout the training — knowledgeable, patient, professional, and very supportive. He did not hesitate to pass on his knowledge and experience, ensuring everyone understood both the theory and practical aspects.
