Amazing Product! wont go anywhere else!

I’ve been buying from Gentle Hair Dye for over 15 years and have always been impressed, but the new gel colours have exceeded my expectations. I’m extremely allergic to normal hair dyes, and these are still the only dyes I can safely use. The results are fantastic — they leave my hair feeling silky and soft, and they blend my greys beautifully without leaving a harsh regrowth line.

On top of that, the customer service is always outstanding: friendly, personal, and genuinely caring. After all these years, I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else.

A great company to deal with

A great company to deal with, nothing is to much trouble. I use the hair dye as it’s gentle, a great range of colours to choose from. Would highly recommend. Got my order in two days!

I can’t think of anything good to say…

I can’t think of anything good to say about this. I’m currently on week 2 of the worst reaction of my life. I’m super allergic to PPD so tried this, did a patch test it was fine. But on the scalp it burned, 3 days later my head was oozing discharge, then my face and neck swelled and I ended up in a&e. Now the itching and burning is so unbearable I can’t settle. Just be so careful with this product

Lots of our customers are able to use our colours successfully despite existing allergies, but sadly there are some for whom even our formula is an irritant. So wanted this to work but I had a huge…

So wanted this to work but I had a huge reaction to the smallest test patch. Not bashing the company but be warned that if you’re allergic to hair dye, this might not work. Have had to go on steroids to fight the awful reaction. Such a shame.

This is exactly why we ask that people patch test every time so that potential allergies are picked up before a full application. Turned greys yellow/Orange colour

Not sure where they got the name "gentle hair dye", far from gentle.. had a very bad reaction to this and to make things worse it turned my greys a yellowish/Orange colour. So in conclusion, if you are trying to cover greys and had some sort of allergic reaction to any hair dye before then this is not for you.
On the positive note, Customer service are quick to reply to emails and are very polite but will not be purchasing again here unfortunately.

Not gentle

Not gentle, made my scalp itchy and colour washes off after a week. I'm not allergic and I don't have sensitive skin.
The legitimacy of their online reviews is questionable. The only place I could is here and the rating isn't great. (They have a good rating on ReviewsIO but not clear who the reviewers are and I certainly wasn't allowed a say)
Some issues with shipment and I didn't get my product delivered for a month.

I'm sorry to hear you had a problem with our product Ninetyeightythree, especially after there had already been some issues with your delivery. We usually ship next day with orders arriving within 1 to 3 days, but things do sometimes go missing in the post.

I'd like to reassure you that our ethos is to use the most gentle ingredients we can, but of course people can be allergic or sensitive to a wide variety of substances - even totally natural ones such as henna.

Whilst colour washing off is something we could help with by sending you a free replacement, adapting the processing time and looking at other factors that could have caused this, it does sound like you have a mild sensitivity and might be better trying another product. I'm going to send you a request for information so that we can track down your order, see which dye you tried and suggest an alternative. Of course, we'd also be happy to offer a refund if preferred.

Our reviews are all left by genuine customers, and you can find links in your online account to leave reviews. I'd also be happy to send you a direct link once we have your order number, though of course we'd love the chance to put things right before you leave a further review.

Absolute junk all it did is dry the…

Absolute junk all it did is dry the hair and make it like straw.
Everything completed to a tee using scales and digital timers total waste off money do not buy this.

Sorry to read you haven't had a positive experience with our dye. Though we have a lot of regular users who love our colour range, we do understand that there can be some trial and error involved in using a new product. It's a shame we've not had chance to put this right before you posted your review, so we've sent you an information request so we can get in touch to try to find a better solution. We'd never want to leave a customer unhappy and out of pocket, so would welcome the chance to work with you to see if we can find a better colour for you. If your are still unhappy, we would of course sort a refund.
