The backer finally stopped giving false…
The backer finally stopped giving false Kickstarter updates, so it's officially a scam now.
SCAM! pastebin u5FYjMQU
1: Jean Simonet's logic is, "We've refused to ship to Europe, Australia, Canada, etc. for about 1.5 years because of the tariffs that exist solely between China and America." This excuse makes no logical sense whatsoever, which makes it blatantly scam-adjacent behavior ("Scam." or "SCAM!" for short).
2: Jean Simonet quietly changed his profile on LinkedIn to distance himself from Pixels and made it sound like he's looking for a new job instead of fulfilling his obligation to send thousands upon thousands of people the products they paid for. SCAM!
3: Normally Jean makes an excuse-filled KS post once a month but as of June 2026 he's become a ghost. He totally abandoned his own project and unfulfilled paying customers! SCAM!
4: Jean blatantly lied about, "More [info] to share next month," on his May 2026 KS post, right before he ghosted everyone and hasn't been seen or heard from ever since. SCAM!
5: Jean refuses all cash refunds under all conditions AFAIK. SCAM!
6: UPDATE about red flag #5, months later: After Jean noticed I was sharing all this info on kickstarter, he forcibly refunded me on KS against my will to make it easier to permanently hide these comments. Since I'm no longer considered a KS backer due to his forced refund that I never asked for, I can no longer post this comment on KS to warn people about his scammy behavior. He's intentionally burying the truth yet again to make it look like everything is fine! SCAM!
7: In an email I got about red flag #6, Jean or Luna (whichever of those 2 people wrote the email) said, "we also cannot continue dedicating team time to monitoring repeated public comment activity at this volume." THIS CONFIRMS THEY'VE BEEN READING KICKSTARTER COMMENTS, YET CHOOSE NOT TO ADDRESS THEM! THAT'S HOW LITTLE THEY RESPECT YOU! THEY SEE YOUR CONCERNS; THEY'RE JUST TOO COWARDLY TO ADDRESS THEM! SCAM!
8: Jean is selling dice via his store/amazon/etc. before fulfilling backers' pledges, which violates kickstarter's policies and is a reportable offense. SCAM!
9: Jean has repeatedly made it sound like all our orders are mere weeks or months away from being fulfilled, as far back as the year 2021. This is called "stringing people along." SCAM!
10: Jean's logic is also, "We refuse to ship to the USA while the US-Chinese tariffs exist. The tariffs will almost certainly continue to exist for at LEAST 3 more years (after the US gets a new president who will need to be pro-China enough to reverse the tariffs), so that's how long we won't ship to American backers--at LEAST 3 more years." SCAM!
11: Jean constantly uses the Chinese-American tariffs as an excuse to not ship anything worldwide, but those tariffs didn't exist for about 3 of the years he's been overdue (now 4.5 years overdue) in delivering most peoples' dice. SCAM!
12: We're 4.5 years past the fulfillment date with the most optimistic deadline being 7 years late, and no, COVID didn't shut down supply chains for 5+ years; it stalled parts of electronics supply chains (etc.) for a matter of *months,* not *multiple years,* before they recovered. Scam.
13: Jean is doing 1 of 2 things. 13a: He's selling and shipping dice/chargers/etc. to people via his store/amazon/etc. before fulfilling his backers' pledges while we've been waiting half a decade. (This scummy behavior is covered more in point #14.) 13b: Or he's *merely claiming* to sell dice to people via his store/etc. while secretly intending to make them wait at LEAST 3 more years in order to fulfill backer orders first, *then afterward* intending to fulfill his backlog of store/etc. orders.
The issue with 13b is that he hasn't made that clear anywhere and leaves it to the buyer to believe, "I'll get these dice I ordered from his store within a reasonable timeframe, not a MINIMUM of 3 years from now when there's a new US president who MIGHT or might not remove all Chinese tariffs." Either way: scam.
14: Jean advertised a dice sale for US buyers using >10,000 dice that were sitting in a US warehouse at that time. Wait, what? Then why not ship those >10,000 dice to KS backers who are several years overdue in receiving what they're owed? Because he chose to have an influx of cash and new eyes on his project rather than integrity. "But he might have needed the cash!" And he might not have. The irrefutable fact remains that *he chose an influx of cash instead of fulfilling existing promises/pledges.* Scam.
15: Years after we backed his project, Jean forced backers to pay him extra money for shipping in order to receive what they paid for, and now years after that moment he still hasn't sent us what we paid EXTRA for. Scam.
There are almost 30 total publicly known issues, which makes this review/helpful warning too long to list on trustpilot! SCAM!

Scam Scam Scam
I'm going to ignore the fact that I haven't received my Kickstarter. It is what it is, those things are either they go, or they don't. Seems this one is the latter.
I'm going to base this solely on the product I DID receive, as I ordered a D20 through Amazon through his store just to see if I was going to bother keeping mine that I'm expecting through the Kickstarter.
About 2 months is all it lasted. It charged, connected, and worked great. 2 months...in which I used it maybe once. It refused to hold a charge, so I had to recharge it often. Then it just stopped charging all together.
Okay, maybe it's my charger. I ask my roommate to use his, as I bought him one too. Plop it into his charger. Nope. Doesn't work. Used the troubleshooting the creator suggested, which was to "pop it in the freezer" and that also didn't work.
My dice was DoA after 2 months. Still doesn't light up, doesn't integrate. Anything.
I reached out through Amazon. No response. I reached out through his website. No response. Their customer service no longer answers anyone. Likely because of the big poopshow the Kickstarter has been with people realizing he bought a half-million dollar house 6 months after the Kickstarter closed, and now he's not answering anyone 5 years after and trying to sell his house. His LinkedIn says he's ready to "Put the Kickstarter behind [him]."
So I wouldn't do anything with this company. He had ZERO problem getting dice out to influencers before he fulfilled anything with his backers. He had ZERO problem selling them through Amazon to US purchasers.
However, he says that tariffs keep him from mailing anything to the US...and any attempt to ask him if we can just pay the difference in shipping is met with silence.
I still have nothing positive to say…
I still have nothing positive to say about this company. They said they'd shipped the dice in February, and now it's August, and they still havent arrived.
Despite numerous attempts to contact them, I have been met with a wall of silence.
They justly deserve low scores on their customer service....well lack of anyway!!
Do not buy from this company
Do not buy from this company, they have failed to deliver products or satisfactory communications to people. I ordered my dice set off the site as a preorder, just shy of 2 years at this point and have only heard excuse after excuse after excuse. "oh the tarrifs, oh this excuse, oh that excuse. oh we just didn't to ship these batches, but please buy them off of amazon!!!!!!"
5 years, got shiny dice, didn't need to sue em
Many people seem to want to review said dice is when things go wrong with them or are wholly unsympathetic to the circumstances around what goes into making these. so I would like to counterbalance with some more tempered opinions.
I backed kick starter in 2021. Being around one of the first 600 to do so. I waited. 80 months of meaningful updates flowed in month by month like clockwork covering the trials and tribulations of getting this product put together behind what sounds like a proverbial hellscape of suppliers and design considerations.
Today I received my order nearby 5 years later. The end product is not life changing but certainly lives up to the original pitch. I have no doubt nor want to underplay other people's concerns. But I have ordered from companies in similar situations before with crushing backlogs of orders and requests to make it through. Customer service is non existent. Though that is the expectation, if the messed up the order I would be a bit more upset.
I waited, was patient without trying to bludgeon someone to death waiting for my shiny rainbow dice. Got them, some were less impressive, some were more impressive. But they did what they said, developed a very polished end product.
They sell the dice on amazon. Err... they are running a buisness? And like need this odd thing called... money. Be angry all you like I very much think the backer money was totally run down years ago. Some pragmatism is needed in service to them staying afloat. If they need to sell a few to keep cash flow stable then so be it. It is a ridiculous proposition to want them to bankrupt themselves fulfilling kickstarter backers so everyone looses... or is that just me?
Them suppressing bad reviews is somewhat worrying... but not really to be expected? Movie posters don't contain all the one star reviews.
This review is very rose tinted but honestly I could care less. These people have spent years grinding themselves to a pulp to put together a vision. They succeeded. And that was my only expectation for this project. Everyone eles may haul them over the coals as they may like.
Tdlr: Waited 5 years, got shiny rainbow dice, didn't have to threaten pulling in my navy seal sniper friend with over 300 confirmed kills to do it.
Great job team, when you get your backlog cleared hope you get a chance to remidiate some of these and you have a healthy supply of capitol to keep it all going! Don't be too disparaged by the angry hoards that really don't seem to have any respect for the practical realities of pushing forwards a project of this sort. And are more than happy to paint anything but things going beyond perfect as a scam. I do despair.
waited 601 days for the wrong delivery and lost contact.
I waited 601 days for my order, and when it finally arrived, it was not even the correct product.
I received a cheaper clear version instead. What makes this worse is that my order details on their website appear to have been changed to match the incorrect item after the fact.
This only happened after I had to repeatedly email them and even threaten legal action just to get any response at all.
After nearly two years of waiting, receiving the wrong product, combined with what looks like an attempt to quietly change the order, im pissed.
Dont buy anything from them.
Waited 17 Months for Nothing
On the 17th of October 2024, I ordered a dice from Game with Pixels for my brother for Christmas (or if it didn't show up his birthday in March), at that time they promised a 6-week delivery. Please note that this was a pre-order but was not part of their KickStarter. The dice I ordered was a D20 in Onyx Black. Well, Christmas came and went with no sign of the dice, then his birthday. I sent emails on 18/12/24, then again on 11/3/25. A year went by and I still received no dice and no communication. I sent an email again on 28/10/25 and then gave up. I accepted I'd spent $100 AUD on a dice I'd never get. Flash forward to this week...17 MONTHS LATER...and I get an email telling me that my order is on the way. I check the website, the dice are on sale for $55 AUD and the ultimate kicker, the dice I'm receiving is clear, my least favourite option that they had. In their "Blog" they said that we'd get emails about the colour, I never received one. So in summary, I've waited 17 months, paid twice as much, and will be receiving a product I never wanted. The company refused to communicate with me in any way, made endless excuses, and are the flakiest people I've ever delt with. Don't support them, don't buy their products.
Disgraceful
This company took millions for a Kickstarter, has developed the product, and now keeps pushing and pushing back bothering to ship dice to people in the US because of tariffs, all while continually selling the product on Amazon, clearly violating Kickstarter's terms of service. I have no idea whether I'll ever get my dice.
Repeat excuses!
Years past fulfillment date
Years past fulfillment date, has taken extra money from backers saying that if they dont pay their shipping in January of 2024 then they would be at the back of the line for fulfillment, yet still over 2 years later hasn't fulfilled the orders, sold dice on Amazon and in person at conventions when his kickstarter backers still haven't gotten theirs.
The biggest scammers there is a lot of…
The biggest scammers there is a lot of people back this on Kickstarter and still have never received their dice and now they switched out the dice they order for ugly version nobody orderd that's also cheaper and will not give refunds
Too many issues to list succinctly
Too many issues to list succinctly. For many people, this is a blatant scam.
Ordered in 2024
Ordered in 2024. Got in touch once to ask for refund. They assured me all was well and I just had to wait.
That was nearly six months ago.
And now, I had to find out through news and NOT from Pixels directly, that the colour I ordered is apparently impossible to do. Black by the way. Simple black. Apparently impossible to make a dice black.
Weird how it wasn't impossible to charge me for it.
I'm now being told I can expect to wait upwards of three weeks for a reply to my demand for repayment.
If they weren't ready to take orders on a website, they should never have opened a store.
Such a disappointment.
[UPDATE]
Upon receiving my complaint, both via email and discord, they rushed to send out my die.
The die is not what I ordered, but they are happy to tell me all sales are final. Retroactively.
They have in addition deliberately kept my payment method secret so I can't open a complaint with my bank or credit card.
I am opening a complaint with Shopify but don't expect results.
Scam artists.
Ordered in 2024
Ordered in 2024,
Never got delivered.
Now they have Problems with the dices, the productions, a los of the dices others got are not working.
The one i ordered will never arrive, and im fine with that, but even tho they never deliver, they have a "no refund" policy..
Anyways
I asked for it, 3 Month ago but they dont respond to support mails
Absent Customer Support
Ordered four dice for my table. One showed up not working. Left a customer support email, it's been one month and not a single word back.
Ordered a d20 in June of 2024 and they…
Ordered a d20 in June of 2024 and they never delivered.
This is a scam
Estimated delivery was march 2022 through Kickstarter. Now close to 4 years later they are busy selling and delivering on Amazon without delivering to the Backers.
Furthermore the dice which was supported is now declared to hard to manufacture and forcibly changed with no input to another Colorway with no way to ask for a voucher or another color. They claim it to be 'to much work' to set up such a system.
They faced a lot of negative feedback on this and I waited a month for the next update just for the owner Jean Simonet to double down on this ridiculous business strategy.
No Feedback, No Service - Scam
I ordered a total of four dice in August 2024. As of October 2025, they still haven’t been delivered. I’ve sent several inquiries but never received any response. The status of my order has never changed.
This website is a scam.
The dice itself is ok...ish but there is troubling behaviour from the company itself
The dice itself is ok...ish. It's early days and integration isn't ironed out, and is reliant upon third party companies working with them which is less than guaranteed. There are frequent cases of faulty dice, and the company is running on skeleton staff due to financial constraints which makes support basically non existant (multi month waits for responses)
But the main reason I'm writing this review is the fact that any review with less than 5 stars is blocked / filtered from their store page. That's pretty slimy (and illegal in many countries) - I would give 3 stars rather than 1 if not for that, I think people should be aware of that practise.
