GAIL's Bakery - South Lambeth Anmeldelser 3

I have ordered from Gails Bakery (South Lambeth) around 4/5 time times this week with varied results. Today was the last straw The avocado toast was all over the place (messy) I ordered a Mocah extra hot, no sugar but received what tasted like a warm hot chocolate instead. At times I have received a half a cup of hot drink instead of a full cup. I do enjoy the food even though it is a little expensive, and the service is fast but the mistakes and bad presentation has put me off, so I won't be ordering for a while if ever again.

Gail’s serves up wonderful fresh and delicious pastries and a wide variety of breads. The staff at the South Lambeth Road branch are always friendly and helpful. Aya and her colleagues are helpful and friendly. Great tasting coffee- highly recommend you visit.

For about a year now, maybe more, Gail’s has had a branch in Vauxhall South Lambeth Road. I like to use a single owner cafe locally so have only been in Gail’s 7-8 times in this period. Most recently today around 5pm and once again the whole experience was lacklustre. I ordered a very hot latte from the young lady then looking at the Quiches asked for one to be heated up. No we don’t do that . They looked very nice though also very expensive and on a horrible January day it would have been nice. Why is that? Something about health and safety with regards to making sure they were still edible? Eh? Maybe I misunderstood so I said so it’s about saving money (ie from claims etc). I didn’t say that she retorted . No it’s my interpretation I said. By which time I got to the coffee point to be served by someone who was either manic depressive or not happy at me raising a question with their colleague. The hostility was tangible. The coffee was warm not very hot but I felt if I’d said anything the reaction would have been too much . Added to this the place was full of single students with their laptops and one coffee cup on their tables no doubt been there for hours. So finding a place to sit was a challenge. Looking at the other reviews I really think the management of Gail’s needs to do something in 2024 and very quickly. Maybe a pay rise for their no doubt underpaid workers to cheer them up ? I mean this company is on a death wish . I’ve never ever been in a coffee shop where they won’t heat something up.
