FreedomPop is literally run by thieves.

Their automatic payment system started overbilling customers 3-4 times per month a couple of years ago. If you saw it & stopped it they did, but they NEVER alerted customers to the problem, they're just siting on stolen money mo people who haven't noticed that.

Since then, they simply stopped my service 3different times, telling me it WASN'T on automatic payment, despite working in the previous months.

I was w/ them cause thy're the cheapest, but I guess I'm going to Mint. I like

Setup process quick and easy. The price is right, and the service is good.

I have been having constant problems with this company for over three months. They keep charging my card and then immediately cancelling my service. I have to contact their support every month to get the service working. AVOID this mess! It is not worth the hassle dealing with these people. Also note that charging for a service that is not provided is fraud.

I have been a customer since 2017 and use Freedompop as my main plan. I initially chose them because of the lower prices compared to other major plans, but have been satisfied with the service since. Every time I had issues (maybe 3-4 times in almost 10 years?), their customer service was responsive and quick to resolve them over chat. I often have better data coverage than my husband who has a much more expensive plan with one of the major carriers. My only issue is that when traveling outside of the US the plan is not usable, so it can be an inconvenience if you need access to texts and calls (for instance to get security codes over text). Other than that, I have been a very happy customer!

Website it easy to navigate and add a new line. Service is great, perfect for my teenagers.

A new phone, whoopie! It was a bit of a nightmare for this sort of tech adept elder at having to wait for the sim card when my phone has all of the bells and whistles that indicate that it is a duel sim device, but you could not send an electronic sim your rep. said.

Unable to use hot spot since Aug 29. Have sent daily emails to support still not fixed. The account was activated in May and prepaid for one year and now it shows not connected even though an active prepaid account. I have sent screen prints sent all the information every day. Used the self help and still no fix or no response. Very disappointed that I can’t get this resolved or at least appropriate follow-up with escalation and a phone call. Not the service I anticipated

Thank you for your response but this is the same email I have been using since August with no resolution and I don’t see a place to reply via private message. I just send another message to the support email with all my screen prints again and a picture of this review and response. Certainly hopeful for a better resolution

I have been getting good help from sonia, and at this moment I'm still without my phone service working; however, I was told my number will be available on 9/22 and not to worry, so I'm going to wait and see if this results show what's promised.

The service is good because it has unlimited wifi.

Cancels free plan without notice.

FreedomPop messed its customers around for many months and was not upfront even with their FCC response. They finally emailed out after several weeks that they were cancelling the plan. While they offered a month free, they continued to make it near impossible to do service with them.

I have now cancelled the line and will never do business with them again. I also provided them the requested information as they can’t accept how bad they are or appear to have no knowledge of their own plans.

FreedomPop claims to offer free cell service that includes 10 minutes + 10 texts/month. I bought a SIM card from them just to use this service. However, their website and app have consistently given renewal errors (the plan has to be renewed monthly for it to work). I contacted FP each time the renewal error occurred and provided screen shots and detailed information about the issue, and each time, their response was to go through the same motions of "uninstall and reinstall the app... blah blah blah." All of which is suggested over the course of several emails and many days/weeks time (during which there is NO access to the FP service).

Since they would eventually fix the issue on their end and apologize for the inconvenience, I started forwarding them the email log of the ongoing issue so they would be up-to-date on my attempts and could go straight to the solution- but they refused to. It had gotten to the point where it took longer to renew the plan then I had access to it! Instead of fixing the renewal issue on their end so customers can renew their plans on their own-- or cancelling the free service they have zero interest in up-keeping-- they advertise a free plan that is literally inaccessible. Countless reviews in the app store describe similar experiences, which suggests a fraudulent pattern of conduct on behalf of FreedomPop. They pretend to provide a free service, but do not uphold their end of the contract.

When the BBB reached out to FreedomPop about this matter, FreedomPop flat-out ignored the complaint. What a disgusting company!

Turn OFF the 3x login per DAY... A fingerprint reader may not read a few times, if that counts against your log-in attempts, this NEEDS to be stated up.front. Amazingly INCONSIDERATE of you to do to regular people who cant perfectly put finger down every time, let alone seniors?!
Make paying bill over phone an option. I'm TRYING to pay them. $10.45. but my failed log ins mean I can't log in, and if I manage to on another device, I still can't make payment because I get an error code. Ended up in the hospital with no phone service. Got out today. Bought a new sim card and time with another company. Great. I can't find my freedompop account number, (what ANY/EVERY phone company needs to port a number), on ANY email, text, monthly order receipt, in the app- and the walkthroughs are not showing what I'm looking for-(that I could find, and I'm NOT computer illiterate by any means). So now, I'm 5 days without a phone, with a toddler, and just out of the hospital, and I have to wait until monday morning at 9am to call them.

This is completely ridiculous.

Obviously, the great price was the attraction. But what was especially appreciated was the patient and helpful service of the technician who walked us through the setup process. There were a few hiccups that we couldn't resolve, the technician was particularly patient and helpful. Thanks!

The app still does the same thing and I still get the exact same error message from before. When will this be updated so the issue is fixed? Screen recording is attached below. I tried to reactivate on the computer but it won't let me. When will this issue be resolved so I can reactivate it on the computer as the app is clearly broken.

App version is 1.6.4 and the android device version is android 14. The error message I get is below.
