i have always used Filezilla in the past, but last month, i used it again, and it installed third party software which i didnt know about, also crashed my google chrome browser, had to reset my pc.. avoid

Das Programm macht zwar, was es soll, die FTP-Down- und Uploads funktionieren, Servereinstellungen können exportiert und importiert werden. Aber damit war es das auch schon.

Die Oberfläche ist auf dem Stand von Windows XP stehengeblieben: Klassische graue, alte Standard-Oberfläche, die sich nicht mal an die Windows-internen Systemeinstellungen hält. Dark-Mode? Völlige Fehlanzeige, nix, aber auch gar nix, wird komplett ignoriert. Ich warte schon seit Jahren darauf, dass die Entwickler dies endlich mal umsetzen, aber es gibt immer wieder Updates, ohne dass sich diesbezüglich was tut. Schade, wirklich schade.

Ich bin dieses Programm gewohnt, daher will ich auch nicht umsteigen, aber es könnte langsam echt mal was passieren. Ein Face-Lift täte dem Programm richtig gut.

They only care about making money bundling Filezilla with malware (google it up) they never do any meaningful updates. The interface is still an old garbage from the nineties, ZERO dark mode despite millions of requests in the forum. Devs literally don't care about their customers. They bloat the app with useless features like a theme for the icons (WHO CARES) but they can't make a basic feature like a dark mode. If you go to the forums, instead of working on a workaround they bring dumb excuses and put the blame on Microsoft, but there are many other ways to provide a dark mode JUST LIKE TONS OF OTHER SOFTWARES. This is the only app in my entire stack that doesn't have a dark mode BUT OH WAIT they just released an update to "fix issue with toolbar size", phew!!! Priorities!!! Can't believe I paid for this scam

I bought a lifetime subscription but it doesn't work after five years. I sent them a letter and they just said they had informed me. If you don't respond, it means you agree to the policy change.

The activation of the copy you have is only to access the online services that FileZilla Pro offers on a subscription basis, which obviously includes the access to new versions of the same program, a service you subscribed at no charge on -- as an existing customer -- to and which is expired on 2023-10-02.

While we do not recommend installing or using outdated software versions you might have from before accepting the Terms and Conditions—due to known security vulnerabilities addressed in more recent releases FileZilla Pro —if you choose to proceed, please do so at your own risk and liability.

The Filezilla people are not ethical. They sold me a license assuring me it was a lifetime license. Now they are refusing to give me my license key when my computer died. They are telling me you have to go to older computer and reset it.

How can I reset the license from a computer that's dead?

The 'lifetime' license is a scam. I have bought other software from companies like Wondershare and Techsmith. They allow me to reset the license or connect license to email id and password.

Filezilla's sales promise is false. They are an unethical company.

If you pay them, know that they will not respect their promise.

I've been using it for many years. A free program, fast, easy to use, and intuitive. Perfect for less experienced website owners.

Great free software. Works great. No issues after all these years.

Am 18.02.2023 kaufte ich per online das Filezilla-Manual for Mac und erhielt einen Downloadlink. Ich klickte den Download an. Erst einige Wochen später. als ich das Manual brauchte, stellte ich fest, dass der Download nicht funktioniert hatte. Ich fand kein Manual auf meinem iMac. Die Gültigkeit des Links war nun abgelaufen. Am 10.03.2023 bat ich den Support von Filezilla um einen neuen Link. Ich habe den Link dreimal angemahnt, ohne Erfolg. Ich werde immer auf den deutschen Support verwiesen, der sich aber nicht meldet. Eine Woche lang warte ich, ohne Ergebnis. Es gibt bei Filezilla offenbar keinen wirklich funktionierenden Support.

If your knowledge on FTP protocols are extensive, then this is probably the software for you. Free to use. There must be websites out there imitating FileZilla, as I've not come across any malware downloading or installing from the official site as others have stated.

Have been using Filezilla(and Pro) for quite a few years. The best FTP and transfer program around. Support for Pro is great also.

Opening the install file automatically installed third party software from WebCompanion, which either crashed or forced my Google Chrome closed, resulting in all my tabs being crashed. The software tried to automatically give itself permissions to view and access ALL of my internet browsing history. Luckily Chrome warned me and asked if I wanted to uninstall their trash.

All this before I even agreed to FileZillas terms to install the software I actually downloaded FROM THEIR SITE, not a third party. This kind of action is a complete violation of trust, not to mention privacy given what the third party software was trying to access. I will never use FileZilla due to it. GTFO.

I have used this program for many years & for the most part I like & prefer it. I use to have another I used but it was much older & out of date I cant remember that name of it anymore lol.

Pros,

+ Easy to use
+ Has a lot of updates
+ Free
+ Useful for webmasters

Cons,

+ Sometimes those update nags get annoying
+ Sometimes the installers has bloatware

I do not have many things I dislike about it but for me it does what I need it to, and until then I will stick with it. When it stops being useful I will find something else.

Created a POP up window took complete control of windows 10 used control alt delete then navigated with key pad to shut down systems got control back ran defender filezilla bundler came up said low threat trust me that was anything but a low threat

FileZilla transfers files unreliably. I have had numerous examples of this, and it's cost me a lot of time. I now use another product (winscp) and NEVER have unreliable transfers.

DO NOT INSTALL FILEZILLA IT WILL INSTALL ADWARE ON TO YOUR COMPUTER. I think that many of the good reviews here are not paid by filezilla, rather users who have not noticed the adware installed on their pc, I needed 5 adware removers to remove the damn adware
