I didn't know what Fortiguard was until it started blocking sites I use regularly through public-access internet. This has affected my ability to work on Amazon mTurk (HIT sites are blocked as "newly observed domain" and I can't come back to them form another connection--they're "one shot"), blocked my access to certain political sites (that's a 1rst Amendment violation), locked me out of webcast series (again "newly observed domain"), and cut me off from sites I've accessed for years (often "malicious sites" when they aren't and Fortiguard refuses to change the classification.) I've complained to my city's IT; they claim to have fixed it, but it' still happening. It's BEEN happening since their 2024 October 17 upgrade. (In other words, I have DOZENS of "date of experience")

An incredibly annoying service that blocks legit websites, or websites that are young.
Do yourself a favour and remove from your device if you have this service.

FortiGuard Sucks

it sucks so bad it blocked spotify- and CAN IT NOT JUSTY LIKE SCAN THE WEBSITE IM IN? IT SUCKS GET IT OUT OF MY SIGHT

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 24. Unfortunately Eduroam (the university wifi) uses FortiGuard, and the URL Ubuntu 24 uses to send log-in information is blocked by their AI system. If the university didn't have a guest wifi system without this terrible product, I would literally be unable to do my job while in the office. There are computer viruses that do less damage than this. 1 star is unfairly generous to something that is best described as malware.

FortiGuard has block me out from 2 different web sites, which I have membership with, which I did NOT subscribe to FortiGuard, these are 2 different pen pals sites, to where Fortiguard calls them dating sites, if you are doing business with fortiguard, do cancel membership. I do NOT suggest this site
