‘Beech... offers a rendition that feels like a modern classic.’
  1. The New York Times
It’s Christmas Eve, a family is sleeping, stockings hung expectantly above the fireplace, when a noise outside announces a night-time visitor… One of the most recognisable and best-loved Christmas tales, The Night Before Christmas has been read to, and read by, excited children for 200 years. Written by New York clergyman, Clement C. Moore, the poem perfectly captures the anticipation and wonder of Christmas Eve, and it shaped our image of the festive season, including the idea of St. Nicholas arriving on a sleigh pulled by reindeer. This special anniversary edition is a visual extravaganza, with 50 pages of full-colour illustrations by Ella Beech. Brimming with nostalgia, and packed with detail and humour, all readers will be drawn into this magical tale. A stunning fold-out section and glow-in-the-dark binding design complete an extraordinary collectable edition that is the perfect festive gift for children, parents and grandparents alike.

When the illustrations are important, as with this particular book, you came through with flying colours. That's 'colours' not colors.

Excellent, once again.

Book arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. It was a gift gratefully received and will hopefully be read on Christmas Eve to my grandson until he’s ready to read it himself. It’s a lovely book

If you're looking for the traditional Coca-Cola Santa, this isn't it. The artwork isn't what I expected, but it is growing on me and is beautiful in its own way. My daughter is almost 17 already, so I am hoping this will be a book my future (far in the future) grandchildren will cherish. For a short book, the price is a little steep, but considering how the price of everything has risen, that is probably to be expected and isn't completely out of line. The book came with one slightly damaged page and a replacement copy was despatched less than 24 hours after I let them know about it.

Brilliant illustrations that hold just as much attention as the classic text.

Beautiful book for my new granddaughter. Something to keep for ever.Slightly non-specific race characters which was surprising but I’m not sure why I would think that in this day and age! Probably assumed they would be traditional in my eyes which, of course, is ridiculous and (almost certainly) very unacceptable to say. No offence meant to anyone!
