I contacted Karl to repair the mains water main pipe from the water meter to the stopcock in the house, as Thames Water had reported it leaking.

Karl responded to my message the same day and set a convenient date to visit and complete the work.

On the arranged day, Karl arrived promptly & after outlining what was required, started work immediately. Rather than digging the entire garden path up, he used a ‘mole’ to install the replacement pipe which saved a lot of digging & disruption.

With the new pipe installed, connected and re-checked for leaks the holes were back-filled and cemented in to a very good standard.

I would highly recommend Karl & Flow External Plumbing - nice people, straightforward & knowledgeable.

Karl and his team did an exceptional job for us. We had an incredibly complex project, coming off a shared supply and replacing a lead pipe for a first and second floor flat in an old Victorian house. We had consulted a long list of plumbers, and Karl's solution stood out by far, not only was it the best approach from a flow rate/weathering perspective, but it involved minimal disruption to the garden and neighbours and came in at a reasonable cost. Something which was unimaginable at the start of this process. He was also a delight to work with, efficient, knowledgeable, and respectful throughout. I could not recommend him and his team more highly.

I needed to replace an old lead pipe, which turned out to be quite a bureaucratic nightmare. I was especially worried about being without water in the house, particularly with kids at home. However, Karl was fantastic—he explained the entire process clearly and kept me informed throughout. Thames Water kept rescheduling their installation date at random, and eventually gave me only a few hours’ notice before they arrived. Karl’s team was incredibly flexible; they managed to arrive almost immediately after Thames Water was finished, so I was without water for no more than 10 minutes. I’m very impressed!

We needed to replace an old lead pipe that extended approximately 8 metres from the front footpath to the basement of our house in Crouch Hill. I called Karl and found him a very pleasant person and easy to talk to.
As he was on holidays, he researched the our driveway on Street view and gave me a very favourable price.
His expertise, experience and modern machinery meant that there was no disruption to our front driveway. The machinery bored a hole underground for the new plastic pipe straight from the road into the basement. Pure brilliance ! All completed in one day. Thames water then connected to their supply a few weeks later.

We're lucky to have found a no-nonsense expert in Karl, who fitted us into his busy schedule to replace a leaking 2m length of water supply pipe, awkwardly located under the tiled front path and concrete steps to our Victorian terraced house. This he managed to do perfectly well without resorting to any earth-shaking machinery, and without disturbing the appearance of either the tiles or the steps. He also remained considerate and cheerful, even while manually digging through the subsoil in the pouring rain!
You might say it wasn't cheap for the time it actually took him, but Thames Water had made us think it would be a complicated business, necessarily involving an insurance claim. So we're very happy that Karl was able to come and sort it for us quickly - with no fuss, disruption or mess.

I have had a problem with a leaking water pipe under my property that has been extremely difficult to trace and repair. Karl has achieved the impossible by replacing part of the pipe and so fixing the leak without the need to take up large parts of wood flooring in my living room. Not only has he fixed the leak but he was also supportive (stressful dealing with Thames Water), and explained all the options. Would highly recommend.

Karl did a really great job replacing the section of our water main that is on our property and then coming back on short notice to reconnect once Thames Water had replaced their section of pipe. The job turned out to be trickier than it looked at the start as a deep trench was needed, with added complications from overly-deep wall foundations and a concrete-filled front garden, but Karl and his team were consistently positive and problem-solving when issues came up. Karl even managed to save the flagstones from our front garden and replaced them better than before once the trench was filled in again. I would definitely recommend Flow External Plumbing. We had an amazing experience with Karl and Flow External Plumbing. After we had a leak from an old lead pipe in our loft, we decided to replace the old lead supply pipe with a new PVC pipe to avoid further issues with leaks. Karl's quote was really competitive which was fantastic. The real reason for recommending him though is he is excellent at what he does. He took time with me to work out the best plan for our job (which was complicated by having to go underneath a side extension), listened really carefully to our ideas and concerns, and took time and care to communicate back. His work needed to be coordinated with another plumber, so his ability to work well with others was vital. The day of the job he arrived bang on time and the driveway was dug up in minutes. It was a long day with lots of hurdles, but Karl calmly worked his way around each one and managed to keep smiling. Despite having to lift numerous floorboards inside, and digging two massive holes in the drive, you could hardly tell he was there afterwards. In fact, the driveway looks better than it ever has! An unintended outcome has also been that the water flow to our house is now significantly improved. Flow XP did a fantastic job for us. Huge thanks to them.
