I wasn't told in store when I placed my order that I would need to pay the fitter a separate price! It was highlighted on my invoice but at no point were we told about this. It was pretty embarrassing when the fitter asked for his money!

100% recommend the Floorstore Wakefield branch to anyone and everyone. i had two unwell children at home and had previously bought flooring from them. I gave them a ring and spoke with Colin and he was able to tell me exactly what i would need, how much etc. He even sent me photos of the floors they had in stock via email so we could discuss prior to going down and seeing them. Really helpful as always! Can't wait to have them fitted now

Steve at Floorstore was brilliant throughout
I purchased some carpets for a new build home from Floorstore, and dealt with Steve. He was absolutely brilliant throughout the process: very patient, knowledgeable, and honest. We ended up getting an Invictus carpet and we are very happy with it.

I have been using the floor-store /Jim's carpets since 1999. When I lived in North Leeds.
Chris and family are the best. Great advice and knowledge. The young girl at the Wakefield branch was really helpful and knowledgeable.
I have just installed LVT click herringbone. This looks amazing.
I recomend anyone looking for flooring/carpets to consult with the floor-store.

APPARENTLY ILLEGAL FEE
On 30th August 2025 we went to our local store of The floorstore. I was asked if I needed any help to which I kindly asked the sales assistant how many packs of wood flooring of this particular pack i would need to cover a floor of a 4 by 4. She told me I needed 7 boxes which was fair enough so I bought 7 boxes. When I had completed the laying of the floor I was 2 boxes that was surplus to requirement. I took the 2 boxes back for a refund on the 2nd September (3days later) to be amazed to be told that I could not have a full refund that 25% needed to be deducted off my refund as they have a 25% restocking fee that they charge. He pointed out a notice that said this about a 25%fee..but after doing some googling asking if this was actually a thing apparently it is telling me legally a retailer cannot charge a fee for re-stocking, they can ask for a fee for other things like delivery charges but no delivery was needed as I collected and delivered back . So I will be now contacting the Head office with my finding that this is illegal in the UK APPARENTLY. So customers keep this in mind when thinking of using The floorstore
AFTER READING THE FLOORSTORE PATRIONISING COMMENT. PLEASE LET ME TELL YOU THAT ROOM IS A 4 BY 4. BUT NETHER THE LESS FOR PEACE SAKE LETS SAY I BOUGHT TOO MANY BOXES AND MISCALCULATED THE ROOM SIZE. FOR YOUR COMPANY TO DECIDE TO CALCULATE A 10%WASTAGE AS IF PEOPLE ARE NOT CAPABLE OF FITTING A FLOOR CORRECTLY WITH YOU DECIDING THEY MAY NEED TO BE ALLOWED FOR WASTAGE. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEDUCT 25%OFF THERE REFUNDS AND INSULT THEM BY SAYING YOU ARE DOING IT AS A GOODWILL GESTURE. YOU ARE A DISGRACE AND STOLE MY MONEY WHICH I SHOULD OF BEEN ABLE TO HAVE A FULL REFUND FOR THE TWO BOXES I RETURNED. AS FOR ME EXCEPTING?? I DID NOT EXCEPT IT I WAS GIVEN IT THINKING I WAS GETTING MY TRUE VALUE.I RETURNED MY 2 BOXES EXPECTING TO GET MY FULL MONEY BACK. IT WASNT UNTIL I LOOKED AT THE RECEIPT AND SAW I HADNT GOT MY FULL REFUND. IT WAS THEN I WAS TOLD YOU HOLD 25% BACK WHAT YOU CLASS AS RE-STOCKING FEE. SO PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE SPARE BOXES IF YOU TAKE IT ON YOURSELVES TO CALCULATE A 10% FOR WHAT YOU ASSUME THEY ARE GOING TO NEED AS WASTE. (UNLESS YOU EXPECT YOUR ITEMS TO BE DEFECTIVE)

Thanks for your review.
We have looked into your order and can see that you provided the measurements for a 4x4m room so would require 16sqm plus the recommended 10% wastage.
You were sold 7 boxes of flooring which equates to 17.43sqm sufficient for the 16sqm you quoted plus any wastage.
In order to have 2 boxes unused at the end of your installation your room could have been no bigger than 12.45sqm metres, so the measurements that you provided to our in-store team were incorrect.
The team did offer to refund you the cost of the 2 packs minus 25% as a goodwill gesture which you accepted.
Unfortunately in this instance as you provided the wrong measurements and accepted our goodwill gesture there isn’t anything more we can offer.
We hope that despite this you are pleased with how your new floor looks.

Very helpful throughout the entire process.
From first guidance about types of suitable carpets in the store, and including the willing loan of carpet samples to assess their suitability in our home.
After we chose which carpet we wanted, the order we received was exact and comprehansive, together with a specific date for installation.
The carpet laying team arrived on the agreed date, were pleasant to waok with, and did a very professional job of laying the carpet we chose.
They left the room in which the new carpet was laid clean and clear of any detritus. And they took away the old carpet and underlay.
It was text book example of customer service from beginning to closure.
