Extremely poor experience
Extremely poor experience. I had a dining table, chairs and a sideboard collected for stripping. When the driver arrived he questioned why I was sending the sideboard as I had already done a reasonable job of stripping it myself, but I wasn't convinced I had removed all the varnish. He advised that because the back was not solid wood it may not be able to be dipped, but would check with the workshop. I received no communication so assumed it was going ahead. When my goods were returned the driver handed me a block of wood and I advised it wasn't mine, it then became clear that it was part of the extending leaf of the table that had been broken, the table top itself was in a dreadful state, parts of the wood had swollen up so it was no longer completely flat and there were two large gouges on the side. I took delivery of the chairs and sideboard and the table top was taken back and I was advised it would be mended. It was only after the driver left that I inspected the sideboard (as I was so upset about my table) and found that it hadn't been dipped/stripped at all and 3 of the legs were damaged. I sent a follow up e-mail complaining that a) it hadn't been treated and I had paid for it b) it had been damaged, along with complaints regarding the table top. A week later, I got a text advising that my table would be redelivered but had a prior engagement so had to decline it. I got another text the following Friday, again advising delivery on the Saturday which I accepted, but subsequently got a message to say that they were delaying as they were going to also sand it free of charge. I replied to this message advising that I still hadn't received any communication with regards to the sideboard which needed to the resolved prior to delivery. I had it delivered back the following Saturday, driver arrived and AGAIN handed me the block of wood from the extending leaf. It hadn't been mended, no further communication regarding compensation for the sideboard and the table top still looked terrible, i.e. not flat. It hadn't been sanded and it hadn't been mended. The driver got someone on the phone, I advised that I wasn't prepared to pay anything, at this point I owed £210 for the table & delivery/collection. I pointed out that I had already paid £100 for the sideboard that they hadn't done anything with so actually what I owed was £110, but the table was still broken and my sideboard had been damaged. They advised to send the table back to be mended and the sideboard to be stripped, on the basis that had already had table for 3 weeks and hadn't done anything with it and that the sideboard had been damaged I declined. Essentially then held to ransom, the driver was told to leave with my goods if I didn't pay. Eventually managed to negotiate that I would pay the £30 delivery/collection. All in all a complete waste of money, £305 paid and I'm left with a damaged sideboard and table. The table also had an additional deep scrape out of it, so deep it can't be sanded. Furniture is not secured in any way in the transportation which I assume is where the damaged occurred or in subsequent handling. The company made no attempt to contact me despite 2 e-mails and 2 conversations with representatives from the company who advised that someone in management would call me back. I would strongly advise against using this company if you value your furniture. Note, I believe this company operates in many counties depending on your google search, so it may come up with Norfolk and Sussex, but I am in Buckinghamshire so just beware.
