What a joke
What a joke! I thought this was part of the passport application renewal process! That charged a fee which I assumed was for the renewal not for a mere few seconds of input data onto a form I could easily have printed and completed myself. $65 to email me a form!? Are you kidding me!? Just ridiculous! What a scam!

The Definition of a Scam...
The Merriam-Webster definition of a scam is "a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation." I would add to that definition, being overcharged for goods and/or services provided. I was renewing a passport, a procedure I last performed 10 years ago. I admit I was not vigilant before I used this service, and this looked to me to be a US Government sponsored process. That meets the deception criterion. I would value this service at about $25 (includes $11.00 for postage label and a completed DS-82 Form) and I was charged $88.83. That meets the overcharge criterion.
The service was easy and convenient. I was provided a service and products; but, under deceptive practices, and at an excessive price. I call it a scam.
We all are being bombarded constantly with scams, and I let this one slip through.
I also admit there was ample warning. Three credit card submissions were rejected by the issuers, for unclear reasons. I should have stopped there. However, a fourth credit card submission was accepted by the issuer. So, three of four credit card issuers apparently have determined this service is questionable. The fourth did not, and I will dispute the charge with them.
Of greater concern is providing personal information (full legal name, current address, date of birth, place of birth, Social Security Number, and credit card information) to a questionable third party.

Easy filing
Using my iPhone, I was able to download the necessary documents, fill them out and print them. I was then able to attach the new photo, put everything in an envelope and mail the request. I was expecting to receive my new passport at the end of December. It arrived at the beginning of December. All went smoothly.

The only glitch was getting my old passport back later, separately. A bit concerning.

A way to scam you for more money
This site is a scam but not literally. The only reason I say what I say is because you search for online passport renewal and fast form filler comes up on the government site as the only option. This makes it seem like a good process until you realize that on the same site after carefully combing through all the info that this is a way of spending an unnecessary extra $60 when you can just pay the flat fee if $130 from the get go instead of paying $60 + $130 as it leads you to believe. What makes its worse is when I realized my error I emailed form fillers and they wouldn’t refund me and stopped responding. Be aware, do not use form fillers because it’s an unnecessary step and just keep searching the site until you find to where you can do it all right online from the comfort of your home.

It was very easy to use, and apply. The only part at all that was confusing was the expected cost. Other than that, it was easy to apply. And I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my new passport was turned around, and then how quickly I got my supporting documents back. One of the better government related services I have encountered.

It was easy and straightforward. We got delayed by the recent photo and once we got that done I forgot to put the check for $160 before I mailed them. The check list included the check but I still forgot it. My wife got her passport but I am still waiting for mine.I got the tracking information today.
